Chapter 1

The night was extremely cold, it poured heavily... It felt like the sky was crying with her. She stood lifelessly on the streets, tears rolled down, and tears flowed down her eyes. Drips of tears washed by the rain, she whimpered silently. How? How could he? She finally moved, she cleaned the tears from her eyes, and she tried to move her legs but it felt like it was glued to the soil.

Mirabel slumped to the ground, her clothes all soaked and wet, she looked up at the sky with her eyes closed, and everything that happened started flooding into her thoughts.

Earlier this morning~~

She left her apartment in a jolly mood today, she was all smiles when she left for her boyfriend's house. Mirabel stopped by the market on her way to Steve's house, she bought a lot of foodstuffs.

Mirabel arrived at his place with the foodstuff in her hand, before she could enter the house her phone started ringing, she stopped to pick up the call and was all smiles when she saw the name boldly written on her screen.

"Ste..." Before she could complete her statement he cut her short

"Don't come in" he said

Mirabel was surprised, what was going on?

"Huh?" she said. Steve breathed out loudly.

"Let's break up," he said, Mirabel could feel her world crumbling before her

He didn't give her a reason, he just wanted them to break up, she was confused, how did it end up like this?

Presently~~

Mirabel stood up and walked down the street under the rain. She didn't know how it came to this. 'The rain was said to wash away your sorrows, so wash away mine' she said to herself.

She kept on walking down the streets on a rainy night and suddenly she felt dizzy, Mirabel held her head with both her hands.

It ached badly.

She fell to the ground and lost consciousness, she could catch a cold in such a situation, she was soaked wet and under the rain.

She was losing herself, heartbroken and tired of living, she had no family she could turn to, so why not just die?

Two black Maybach cars were seen passing by but the first one suddenly stopped, and the second also stopped, a man came down from the car, and two bodyguards from the other black car jumped down and followed him with an umbrella.

Axel strode to the girl under the rain, when he reached her he squatted down, he was quite surprised to see someone laying unconscious under the rain but something more surprising was that he didn't want to leave her there.

He picked the lady from the floor, which led to his coat getting wet in the process.

"Sir, let me carry the Lady" Lucas the first bodyguard said.

Axel didn't reply, he walked towards the car and dropped the lady in the car before the door was closed shut by the bodyguards.

The cars were seen driving away under the cold night. Axel glanced at the lady now resting her head on his lap and he smiled briefly. A damsel falling into your hands.

After the long journey they finally stopped at a huge mansion, the rain stopped already, and the guards rushed out and opened the door for Axel who entered the mansion with Mirabel in his arms.

He climbed the stairs and went up to his room, when he entered his room, he walked up to the bed and dropped Mirabel on his bed.

*Knock knock*

There was a knock on the door "Come in" Axel said in his deep voice. A man who looked to be in his early fifties came inside the room.

"Welcome young Master," he said and bowed. He was the butler of the mansion, Butler Luke.

"Call the doctor," Axel said and glanced at the butler.

"OK, sir" Butler Luke said and went out of the room.

Axel stood beside the bed still looking at Mirabel, he was contemplating whether to change her clothes or not. After giving it much thought, he carried her towards the bathroom, he sat her down on the bathtub after removing her clothes.

Axel inhaled sharply when he saw her bare in front of him, he stared deeply at her, she... She was so beautiful.

Several minutes later he finished showering her but he noticed her body was getting hot, her temperature wasn't normal.

Axel quickly carried her to the room and dressed her. He had no female cloth to dress her on, so he took one of his pajamas and clothed her with it.

He placed her on the bed and covered her with a comforter.

Axel went back into the bathroom to get a cold shower, after taking his bath he dressed up and sat down on a couch in the room. Axel closed his eyes shut.

A few minutes later his phone started ringing, he picked it up and saw who was calling, after that he glanced at the sleeping lady briefly before he stood up and went out of the room.

Axel was on his way downstairs but he saw Stephen and the butler climbing up the stairs.

"What's up, are you okay? I got a call" Stephen said carefully looking at Axel. He has been Axel's doctor for the past five years now.

" Follow me," Axel said and walked back towards the room. Stephen had no choice but to keep shut and just follow him.

Stephen entered the room and gasped out loud...

"What the..."
