Chapter 6

AVA'S POV.

I sat on the chair with my face in my hands, my mind spinning. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t stop thinking about what had happened. How could Arthur do this to me? The thought made my heart heavy as I breathed heavily and kept sighing every moment I got.

I had slept with a complete stranger, a face I couldn't shake off my mind. The shame burned inside me, mixing with anger and regret.

How did it even happen? How could an Alpha think of doing this to me? And marriage? What kind of idiot brings up marriage after he rapes a girl?

The walls felt like they were closing in, making it hard to breathe. I wanted to cry, scream, or undo everything. But that wouldn't change anything.

My heart ached, my head hurt, and I didn’t know what to do next. My life felt like it was falling apart.

“Fuck,” I cussed slamming my head on the table. “What could possibly go wrong again?”

“Hey,” Anna said as she sat down beside me. “I got your message.”

Yes, the cause of my problems is Anna, if she hadn't told me about the ball maybe I wouldn't have been raped.

I raised my head slowly, smoldering at her with resentment. “You,” I growled clenching my fists.

“Me?” She asked, looking shocked, pointing to herself. “What did I do?”

“You are the reason I am in this mess,” I snapped.

“Mess?” She scoffed. “You are always in a mess,” she smiled leaning forward. “Did you confess your love to Arthur?” She joked.

I felt like punching her in the face, if only my anger was a person, she would have been ten feet on the ground.

“I had sex with him,” I blurted out.

“What?” She shouted.

The people around slowly turned to us, a mixture of anger and curiosity etched on their faces.

Anna smiled, leaning closer to whisper. “You slept with him?”

“More like raped,” I added, gulping down the beer. “The devil Alpha raped me.”

“What? What happened?”

“He spiked my drink, that's what happened,” I eyed.

“Oh my God, that's horrible, how could he do that?” She asked, her brows furrowed in curiosity.

“He is a jerk,” I cussed, my voice filled with venom as I glared into the empty air. “Should I report him?” I asked, shifting my gaze to her.

“To who? He is the devil Alpha.”

“What should I do Anna?” I cried burying my face in my hands. “I feel like a slut.”

“I am sorry,” she smiled with a faint shrug. “So you don't remember what happened? Like the real stuff?”

Was she hearing herself? I was raped, wasn't that real stuff enough.

“So you don't remember your first night,” She muttered, leaning backward on her chair, looking disappointed.

“Honestly, Anna, I don't think I want to remember my first time as rape,” I eyed.

She nodded, looking away.

“You know this is your fault,” I added. “If you hadn't forced me to that ball, I wouldn't have been in this situation.”

“Me? You liked him, didn't you? I saw the look in your eyes, you can't deny that?” She said, raising her voice. “Have you told your mother, she was the one who took you there.”

“Tell her?” I scoffed. “I don't know what to tell her and I am afraid of what she would do to him when she finds out.”

“Just tell her, I am sure we can find a way to tell her the news calmly without her running over to destroy the moon pack.”

“I am not telling her,” I insisted. “I think I would just let it slide, it wouldn't matter anyway, Arthur and I wouldn't meet again.”

“You really gonna let it go?” She asked in disbelief. “You lost your virginity, wouldn't you make him take responsibility for that.”

“Yeah, he asked me to marry him,” I blurted out.

“Do you really think he would marry you? He is the Alpha of the moon pack, no offense but you are in no way his type, you are attractive but c'mon…?” She scoffed.

I know she was trying to look out for me but this feels a little insulting.

“The least he could have done is…I don't know, give some kind of compensation.”

“I know, he wouldn't have married me and besides I left before he could say anything,” I revealed, taking in deep breaths.

“Why would you even think of that? She frowned. “He is rich, maybe give you something priceless in exchange for taking your virginity, if he doesn't do that, I would cook a portion to make him suffer.”

“I don't want to see him,” I revealed, letting out a sigh. “After raping me, he had the guts to mock me by proposing to me.”

“Wait what?” She asked. “He actually said *will you marry me*?” She said air coating the sentence.

“Yes, did you think I proposed to him?”

“What?” She screamed. “He actually proposed to you? You have to meet him.”

“I don't want to,” I said angrily. “You expect me to marry that jerk that rapes a girl the first he sees her? No.”

“He proposed.”

“I don't care, I'd rather suffer with the trauma than get married to him.”

“Fine then, if he doesn't come to look for you in like a month, then we are sure that he is just a jerk, agreed?” She proposed.

“He won't find me, Anna, just forget about it and please help me live through not hating myself, Arthur and I would never meet.”

“Have you forgotten that your mother worked for his grandfather? What if he tells her?”

“I don't care, he can fuck himself for all I care,” I paused as I lowered my eyes in sadness. “I am an impure wolf, even if he wants to marry me, the moment he finds out what I am, he would discard me, it's best I don't get my hopes high.”

“I understand,” she forced a smile. “I just want you to know that I would support you in whatever you decide.”

“Thank you,” I smiled, holding hands with her.
