Ava's POV

The hospital room was quiet except for the steady beeping of machines, the reporters had disappeared and Arthur asked the elders to take Lady Eleanor back to the mansion before she made more trouble.

I was still badly injured and Arthur had noticed that, he insisted I stay to be treated here.

This hospital was the best hospital around, it belonged to his family.

I lay on the bed, feeling weak as I rubbed my belly softly. Arthur sat beside me, his eyes full of worry even though he tried to smile.

“You need to rest,” he said, brushing a strand of hair away from my face.

I smiled back at him. “I will. But only because you are here with me.”

Before I could say more, my mother burst into the room. Her face was a mix of relief, She glanced between Arthur and me.

“The doctor said that Ava can go home now,* she blurted out.

“Ava isn't going home until she is completely treated Jennifer,” Arthur said, his voice filled with authority.

“I am her mother and I know what is best for

Arthur’s POVI drove with speed to the cliff where Ava was kidnapped or where Oliver was supposed to have died, the ride seemed longer than it usually was. My grip on the steering wheel tightened as my mind raced. Oliver was alive…that much I now knew…and now I can't help but wonder how he survived. Who helped him? That bastard should have just stayed dead, was he a curse by the moon goddess to punish my father for his infidelity?I swear I would not spare Oliver this time, as kids I promised my father that I would treat Oliver like a brother since he was still my father's son but right now, I am ready to break ten thousand rules and promises to kill Oliver, even though I am not the type to go back on my words. Beside me, Charles sat quietly but it was obvious he was scared. “Slow down Arthur,” he shouted. “We want Oliver dead, not us.”I turned to the side mirror, there was a car speeding right behind us, and my lips curled into a faint smile.I increased my speed, and the car be

Author’s POVElena’s heels were heard clicking in the hallway, dressed in a short skirt and a revealing blouse, a designer bag in one hand and the other holding a phone.A faint smile played on her lips as she read through the messages, then she dialed a number. “I will be there soon, make sure the job is done before I come,” she said, cutting the phone call.A young maid walked up to her, her hands clasped nervously. “Lady Elena,” she said, her voice shaky. “Lady Eleanor has requested your presence.”Elena’s jaw tightened, and she looked up from her phone, irritation flickering in her gaze. “Now?” she asked. The maid nodded. “Yes, my lady. She said it’s urgent.”With a sigh, Elena slipped her phone into her bag. “Fine,” she muttered, walking past the maid. She walked to Lady Eleanor's room, which was a bit far from the place she was going. As soon as she got to the room, the sentinels at the door opened the door for her and slammed the door shut immediately after she walked in. “

Arthur's POVI sat quietly in Elena's house, all the lights turned off, Elena wasn't in the palace after the incident…which was something that was unusual, she was always around me. The door creaked open, and I heard her heels clicking on the floor as She stepped in, dropping her bag by the door and flipping on the lights. The moment her eyes landed on me, she jumped, clutching her chest.“Arthur,” she shouted, startled. “What are you doing here?” she asked, clutching her chest. “You scared me.”I stood slowly. “I have been waiting for you, where were you?”She scoffed, removing her heels and holding them in her hands. “Since when have you been bothered about my whereabouts?”“I heard you left the palace this morning, you didn't state where you were going.”“When did I start reporting my next move to you or anyone,” she snapped, pushing me aside slightly. “Since when you went to a place that has no network connection.”She froze, turning to me. “My phone was in flight mode,” she stu

Ava's pov.I waited in my room, nervously twisting my blanket’s edge between my fingers. Arthur had been gone for hours, and the silence around me felt suffocating. Each tick of the clock made my anxiety worse as I imagined all the terrible things Oliver might be planning or what Arthur might have discovered at the cliffs. The creak of the door broke my thoughts, and Arthur stepped in, he looked surprised to see me still awake.“Ava, why aren’t you sleeping? It’s late,” he said softly. “I couldn’t,” I replied, sitting up straighter. “I have been waiting for you. Did you find anything? Any sign of Oliver?”Arthur sighed, shutting the door and rubbing his neck. “No, nothing yet. But we are on it.”I frowned, letting out a sigh. “Arthur, my goodness, what will happen now? He would try to attack, "I paused, trying to take deep breaths. “How could anyone even survive that attack, how can anyone survive that, it's too far,” I said with a ragged breath, holding my head. Ava's pov. The scent of coffee filled the air as I stepped into the little café, Faint music playing in the background, as the people moved around. The wolves….witches and impure wolves weren't really common in public places. I walked to the counter, leaning on it as I waited for the waiter to attend to me. I ordered my usual type of coffee and found a seat near the window. As I wrapped my hands around the warm cup, my mind slowly drifted back to last night. A small smile tugged at my lips as I recalled last night. Arthur was completely different from what the rumors said, last night he held me in his arms like a child until I fell asleep. I was scared that I might have ended up with the devil but right now, I know that I have ended up with an angel and I could never be less proud to have him in my life.Maybe I had been too quick to judge him. The sound of the bell above the door brought me back to the present. I glanced up. It was my mother. Her eyes scanned the room, As soon

Arthur’s POVI entered the room where Amelia and Elena were waiting. They sat down quietly, not even taking a glance at the other person. Elena and Amelia's relationship was like that of a cat and a mouse, they hated each other and could barely stand in the same room without one attacking the other. Elena’s sharp gaze met mine for a brief moment before she turned away, clearly annoyed. “You are late,” Elena blurted out, not even waiting for me to sit down. “I need answers,” I began. “Have you found anything that could lead us to Oliver?”“My suspicion was correct, I met with some other witches, and they also said the same thing, but I was able to get something useful, those witches with that knowledge are very much around.”“Can we find them?” I questioned. “Unfortunately, their exact location is hidden from us.”I turned to Elena. Elena leaned back, crossing her arms under her breasts. “I have already told you, Arthur. My visions don’t work like some map you can follow. They

Arthur’s POVCharles's words hit me hard, my brows furrowed in curiosity. “What the fuck?” I muttered dropping the papers I was holding. “The sentinel who delivered letters to Oliver... he was killed this morning,” he repeated.“What do you mean, Charles?” I demanded, stepping closer to him. “The sentinel is dead, and you are saying it happened during the chase this morning? How did something like this happen in my palace?”Charles sighed heavily. “After they caught the person in Oliver's room, they pursued the intruder, but the chase ended with no positive outcome, so they stationed men around his room just incase, it was clear that the intruder was able to carry some documents, so while some of the sentinels were searching around, they found his body lying in the bushes.”I clenched my fists, trying to contain my frustration. “Summon everyone. Immediately. No one leaves until I get answers.”Minutes later, the elders, Amelia, Elena, and key members of the council gathered in the gr

Ava's POVI glanced at Arthur who now appeared shocked, he slowly turned to me, his brows furrowed in curiosity. “Are you saying we can find the witch?” He asked. Anna and I exchanged glances, a faint smile playing on her lips as she picked up a fry. “Not exactly,” she shrugged. “Just like werewolves, witches also look after each other, there is no way this witch doesn't have a witch friend or a seller.”“My parents sell herbs,” Anna's friend revealed. “We can start from there.”I turned to Arthur. “My mother knows most of the witches in town, maybe she wanted to look for a way to make me pure, ” I added Anna chimed in, “We all know that's not true,” she laughed. “Your mother didn’t trust any of us. She made it her business to know who was who, especially those dabbling in dark magic.”Arthur’s eyes narrowed. “So, you are saying your mother might know something about this black witch?”“She might,” I admitted. “But you need to understand, my mother doesn't like being bossed around,

Ava’s POVI sat in the hospital waiting room, tapping my fingers against my lap. My heart is hammering loudly in my chest. I was about to commit the first murder in my life and my child was the first victim.Amelia sat beside me, her arms crossed and her expression unreadable."Are you sure about this, Ava?" she asked for what felt like the hundredth time.I inhaled deeply. "Yes, Amelia. I’ve thought about it. It’s the only way."She turned to face me fully, her piercing gaze making me uncomfortable. "And what are you going to tell Arthur if he finds out? Do you realize that you want to kill the child of the devil Alpha, the next heir to the throne? I'm not sure death is enough punishment for you if they decide to punish you.”“Please don't make me look like a bad person,” I frowned. “I am doing this for everyone, do you think the child would be happy to know that he killed his father?”Before she could respond, the door swung open, and a doctor in his mid-fifties walked in, adjustin

Ava’s POV“Luna Ava! Luna Ava!! Luna Ava!!!” I heard my name, but my brain wasn't registering the name. “Ava,” Miya touched me, gently. I jolted up, my eyes widened in fear as I scanned the environment. We were back at the Luna's estate already and I wasn't aware. “Are you alright ma'am,” the driver said, looking at me through the mirror. I turned to him, touching my flushed cheeks. I was so deep in thought that I didn't even realize when we left the palace or when we got to the Luna's house. I forced a smile, grabbing my purse. I turned to Miya. “Welcome back Miya.”She smiled faintly, as I pulled her out of the car. Miya’s small hand clung tightly to mine. She didn’t say much, but I could feel her curiosity as her wide eyes studied the large estate. Poor girl wouldn't be able to look at the estate without remembering the one who brought her up. But this was her home, she had to come back. “Ava!”I turned at the familiar voice.Amelia stood by the entrance, waving at us, she t

The impact made her gasp, her wide eyes staring up at me in terror.“Elena,” I said, gripping her wrist tightly. “You’ve been avoiding me.”Her chest rose and fell quickly, panic making her breath shaky. “Let go of me Arthur,” she growled, her eyes filled with venom. I scoffed, leaning closer. “Haven't always wanted to be close to me?”“Not close to this beast, I know who you are,” she whispered.I tilted my head, smirking. “Do you?”Her lips trembled, but she didn’t look away. “I know you are fully synced with your devil Alpha now.”“I wasn't hiding that from you,” I shrugged. “How can I hide it from a seer, you must have seen it before it happened–” I paused studying her reaction. “You didn't see it, did you?”She swallowed hard, flickering her eyes away. AVA'S POVThe palace loomed before me, its towering spires stretching into the cloudy sky. As the car came to a halt in the grand courtyard, I let out a quiet sigh. I had completely forgotten that we were in the same car. “I have a lot on my mind,” I admitted, taking a deep breath. His lips curled into a small smirk. “Nothing you can’t handle.”He reached out, brushing a strand of hair behind my ear. It was a small gesture, but it sent a shiver down my spine. My lips curled into a small smile, as my mind slowly drifted to last night, my screams overshadowing my heartbeat as he banged me hard. If babies could keep their memories of when they were in the womb, my son will have a lot of complaints to make. And the dick poking part was one of many tales to be told, that's if the baby survives. “I’ll see you tonight,” he mu

AVA'S POV. It has been three days since the incident happened, My mother was recovering quickly all thanks to Elizabeth. Everything was returning to normal, almost. Arthur has been acting strange lately. I actually liked the change but something about it made a cold shiver run down my spine each time I thought of it. Arthur has been present. He actually sleeps in the same room with me and sleeps on the same bed with me, I couldn't tell if he was doing it because he felt guilty for almost killing me or something had changed in him. But whatever it was, I wasn't comfortable with this change. I tried to see Elena to find out what she meant that the prophecy had changed but all my efforts to see proved futile, more like she was avoiding me. I leaned on the wall, staring at the moon, the cool night breeze brushing over my face, the faint howl of wolves heard in the distance. I inhaled deeply, crossing my hands under my breasts, letting my thoughts wander around Arthur, my hand plac

Sleeping beside me, was Elena. Her long, dark hair fell over her face.“Elena?” I managed to mutter, my vision blurry due to the excruciating pain in my head. She shook slightly, her brows furrowing before her eyes snapped open. At first, she looked confused, but the moment she realized that I was awake, her lips curled into a faint smile, her face flickered to relief. “Arthur,” she said, her voice filled with tears. Before I could react, she threw her arms around my neck, her tears falling on my shoulder. “You are alive,” she cried. “I thought I killed you.”I hesitated, my hands hovering over her back before finally settling there. “I'm fine,” I chuckled but my voice was filled with pain.“Elena… What happened? Why am I here?”She pulled back just enough to meet my gaze, her lips pressing into a

A loud crack was heard…something… someone had struck Arthur. His grip on me loosened, and I fell hard onto the cold ground.I gasped, my lungs fighting for air. My head spun, but I forced my eyes open. Through the haze, I saw everyone struggling to help in one way or the other. Arthur had turned away from me, his focus now on Amelia and Charles. They stood together, their body tense, ready to fight.“Stay down, Ava,” Charles growled. His sharp claws extended, his wolf instincts kicking in.I wanted to obey, but my body shook as I pushed myself up on my elbows. My heart pounded as Arthur walked toward them, his glowing red eyes locked onto them like a predator about to strike.“Arthur,” I muttered, knowing he couldn't hear me but I continued anyway. “Arthur,” I pleaded again. “Please stop.”My pleas mean

Ava’s POVThe moon was high in the night sky, its pale light making the trees cast long shadows around the clearing. The air was cold that it made my blood dry and my heart pounded so hard it felt like it might break out of my chest. My hands and feet were tied with thick ropes, holding me down on a hard stone. The fabric of my thin dress did nothing to keep out the chill, but the cold was the least of my worries…not like wearing thick clothes will have stopped the ritual but I didn't have time to dress, I just wanted to be done with this. I inhaled deeply, scanning my eyes around the people that were present, this was going to be my last time I will see them hopefully not. I couldn't even tell my mother about this but clearly she must have heard about it, there was nothing that could get past her. Anna was the only one I was sure wasn't aware of my self righteous sacrifice. I knew she would never agree to this but I had to do it to save Arthur. I only hope Arthur knows how much
