Ava’s POV

The council hall was full of people, different representatives from each pack in the country, their voices mixed together, making it hard to think.

My heart was pounding hard as I darted my eyes to each of the group, they looked so confident, their eyes always on Jennifer.

I turned to Jennifer, she kept a calm and demeanour but I could see the satisfied looks in her eyes. She was enjoying this, she knew she was winning.

Charles stood beside me, his arms crossed on his chest, he looked around at the crowd and sighed. “They’re already against us,” he muttered.

I nodded, turning to the door waiting for Dorian to arrive, he was my only hope to win this war against my mother.

I turned back to the crowds this time, Elder Marcus was already walking around, the crowd turned towards me, their faces filled with disdain as they stared at me.

They must be talking about me.

I met their gaze not wanting to show weakness, it seemed to have worked because most of them turned away avoi

Author’s POVThe moon shined brightly above the forest, casting silver light over the narrow path Charles walked. He moved quickly but carefully, his mind clouded with unsettling thoughts. He and Ava just escaped a very difficult battle, if Dorian hadn't supported them at the last meeting, they would have lost everything. Charles was on his way to see how Arthur was, there hasn't been a good sign of recovery ever since he went down, at least he wasn't dead, but what point would it be if Arthur wakes up and everything has been destroyed. This fight wasn't just about Ava, to him it was more of keeping a brother's position. He stopped at the cabinet, glancing around to make sure no one had followed him, no one knew about this yet, he couldn't take any chances after what happened with Garrick, not even Amelia. He pushed the door open, glancing around, there was no one there, he quickly slammed the door shut and walked into the inner room. Inside, Elena sat beside Arthur, grinding leav

Ava’s POVI sat in Arthur’s chair, my fingers tapping lightly on the table while the council talked about the Queen’s people and their latest attacks. A faint smile playing on my lips, mostly a smile to cover up my sadness. What's more painful is that we still haven't found Arthur's body. It felt like I owed him or something, it felt like his soul was still calling out for me, each time I closed my eyes, the only images I saw were Arthur's, crying for help or running away from someone or something. I didn't know whether they were just nightmares but they felt real. Too real to be called dreams but unfortunately I always wake up to the sad reality that my husband was dead. “Ava,” Elder Rowan tapped his fingers on the table, drawing my attention to him. “Are you okay? You looked flushed.”I forced a smile, using the back of my hands to clean my cheeks. “I'm fine,” I reassured him, turning my attention back to the elders who were still talking. The queen's people had been attacking

Ava’s POVThe grand hall shimmered under the golden light of the chandeliers, reflecting off the polished marble floors. Tonight was an important night, a night to honor my son as the heir of this pack and the next devil Alpha of the world. The hall was filled with Alphas from different packs, they were all powerful people, people that I didn't even know. All I knew was some were allies, some were rivals, and others were just there to observe, waiting to see if we would make any mistake. I moved through the crowd, offering polite nods and small smiles, that my cheeks were already hurting, due to the false smile frozen on my face. My long blue gown flowed behind me, it was very heavy and really tight, but Amelia insisted that I had to wear it because it made me look like a woman of authority. Sometimes I wish I was just born a witch, werewolves have so many rules, responsibilities and we always act on script. While I was going to the crowd, I spotted my mother by the fountain, her

Ava’s POVThe hall fell into chaos as the people murmured among themselves, shooting me a death glare. I swallowed hard, my heart hammering loudly in my chest. My secret was finally out. The people started insulting me, throwing objects at me, I used my hands to block my face from the object. “She’s impure!”“She tricked us all!”“She isn’t fit to be our Luna!”Those words kept ringing in my head. I stood there, frozen. My entire body trembling, I have kept this secret from the world for years, I succeeded in doing that, why is it different now? Why does this have to happen now? Why do all my plans fail?My breath was heavy caused by stinging pain from my wounds but the blood didn't seem to ease the tension, they all stood, glaring at me. I knew if they weren't royalties with etiquette, they would have devoured me by now. Charles and Amelia moved immediately, standing in front of me like shields against the rising tide of hatred.“Enough!” Charles’ voice boomed through the hall.

Author’s POVAmelia rushed inside the house, the servants tried to stop her but they were no match for her. “Take me to Dorian or I will drive my nails deep into your skull,” she threatened. “You have to leave,” one of the sentinels said, reaching for her hand. “I swear if you touch me, I will set you on fire,” she snapped. The man moved back in fear, exchanging glances with the other sentinels. “Amelia,” someone called from behind, the sentinels quickly bowed to the man. “I think you have made your point.”Charles stepped forward, placing his hands in his pockets. “You must be his new Beta.”The man nodded, with a smile. “Right this way, Dorian is a busy man.”Charles scoffed but followed immediately, Amelia glanced at the sentinels one last time before going after Charles. The room smelled of old papers and burning incense. It was quiet, too quiet, except for the faint scratching of a quill as Dorian wrote on a scroll. He sat at the far end of a long wooden table, his cold blu

Ava’s POVI inhaled deeply, pacing forth and back in the cold cell, I looked at through the window, the flittering moonlight casting eerie shadows across the walls. The sound of the hooting owls filling the air. I bit my lips, looking out the cell bars. Ever since they arrested me, I haven't been allowed to see anyone or know about my son, even the sentinels made it clear that they despised me.I had lost everything.I got tired of walking and decided to take a nap, when suddenly the door opened, a lady walked in, still standing in the shadows. “Ava,” she called. “Jennifer,” I growled. Jennifer was the first guest that had visited since my arrest. She stepped closer, her long green dress flowing like a snake. I scoffed, folding my hands under my breasts. “Have you come here to mock me?”She chuckled. “I'm not that childish, Ava, and besides, I didn't beat you, you brought this upon yourself, this is all your work, not mine.”“What are you trying to say?” I frowned. She blinked, her lips parting like she wasn’t sure if she was seeing a ghost.I took a step forward, my voice loud and clear. “I dare anyone to try and execute the Luna.”Ava’s eyes glistened with tears as she whispered my name. “Arthur?” she called, her voice filled with happiness. My lips slowly curled into a faint smile as I cupped her face into my hands, my heart pounding. She had been suffering a lot, a proof that I needed to teach the council a lesson. The guards charged forward, their faces still etched with confusion. Charles stepped forward immediately, stopping them, giving them a reassuring nod. They exchanged glances before retreating. I pulled out my dagger and sliced through the ropes binding Ava’s wrists.“Arthur,” she sobbed, before throwing herself i

Ava’s pov. The morning sun filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room. I slowly woke up, my body sinking into the soft mattress. I turned my head and saw Arthur sitting at the edge of the bed, cradling our son in his arms, a small smile playing on his lips as he held the child's fingers. “I think you are only doing this so he can make you his favourite when he grows up,” I said. He turns to me with a smile. “You’re awake,” he said gently, meeting my gaze.I nodded and pushed myself up slowly. My body ached, but compared to everything we had been through, this pain was nothing. It has been months now after the war, everything was slowly going back to normal, except the fact that impure wolves can now live freely. Jennifer was arrested but couldn't bear the fact that after years of planning, she failed not just to an enemy but to an impure wolf, she could take that shame, so she killed herself. Arthur carefully placed our baby in my arms. I looked down at

Arthur’s POVA cold wind howled across the empty desert as I opened my eyes, sand swirling around me like ghosts whispering in the night. I sat up, blinking my eyes against the dim, eerie glow of the horizon. “Am I dead?” I muttered to myself as I stood up. This was the same desert I was the other time, was I really dead. No, I can't be dead, at least not now, Ava needs my help. I turned around, looking for a place to go but if I remember correctly, this place was like an endless maze. A shuffling sound caught my attention, so I turned immediately. A woman appeared, her long cloak dancing in the wind, her silver eyes glowing like twin moons. She was the same woman I met here.“You again,” I murmured, stepping closer. “What is this? Have I died… again?”She smiled. “You are not dead, Arthur.”“Then what is this place?” I demanded, scanning the endless stretch of sand.“The space between life and death, except that you aren't here as a lost soul but as a redeemed soul,” she said, st

I tried to move, but my wrists were tied behind my back and ankles tied together with thick chains.I lifted my head, and my breath hitched immediately, we were surrounded by Jennifer's men. Dorian lay on the ground a few feet away, his face bloodied, as he tried to get up but couldn't. Dozens of our warriors stood behind us, their hands tied, their eyes filled with fear. “Amelia,” I whispered. She slowly turned to me. “Ava, are you okay?” She asked, her voice weak as she glanced around. “What happened?” I asked her, swallowing hard, keeping my voice low. “We were defeated but I thought Arthur said you should leave, what are you still doing here?” She questioned.I shook my head, the memories of what happened flooded back. “We were going through the back with Dorian but they ambushed us, it was like they were waiting for us.”“Shit, Dor

Oliver stood a few feet away, grinning like he was enjoying every moment of Arthur’s pain.“Oliver,” Arthur growled, clenching his fists. “I killed you.”“And if I remember correctly, I also killed you but here you stand,” Oliver said in a mocking tone. “I guess the black witch brought you back, can't you do anything without help?”Oliver scoffed. “Why are you scared that I would beat you now?” He eyed. Arthur spat on the floor. "You can never win Oliver, you should have just stayed dead," Arthur growled, holding his side.“Really?” Oliver smirked. “Do you really think you can beat me?”“I beat you twice, there is no harm in making it the third.”Oliver chuckled, his eyes filled with amusement. “I do admit you have defeated me, even more than thrice but not again brother, the witches saw my worth that's why they brought me back—” Arthur c

Arthur’s POVWe all sat in the war room, with a few head sentinels, everyone looked tense, some looked afraid, who wouldn't be? This was supposed to be the biggest war of the centuries, one that would decide our fate. Dorian moved to the shelf picking out some maps and threw them on the table. “This is the complete map of my palace.”Charles stepped forward, spreading the maps. “Don't you think it's a stupid move for Jennifer to attack a palace she knows nothing about? She has no idea the layout structure—” Dorian cuts him off.“Are you seriously suggesting there is a mole in my palace?” He frowned. “Yes, I do think there might be a mole in this palace, but it's not your fault, most of our people turned on us.”I nodded, my fingers tracing the structure of the palace on the map. “There are a lot of hiding places that we can use to ambush them, what's this place?” I asked, pointing at a location on the map. “It's an escape route,” he replied, looking at me. “But only I have the key.

Author’s POVAmelia stood in the middle of a broken house, her heart pounding loudly as the wind rushed through the empty stone walls, carrying the smell of damp earth and the past. This was the house she used to live with her family before Arthur killed her parents. She had decided to come here one last time and see her sister, the only family she had left, Elizabet. Elizabeth was standing right in front of her, Amelia didn’t know what to say or how to feel, she just stared at her. Elizabeth looked the same and different at the same time. Her dark hair was longer and her eyes looked more cold. She wore a black cloak that covered every part of her body, the only thing that wasn't covered was her head and that was because her cloud was down. “Amelia,” Elizabeth said. Amelia swallowed hard, taking a small step forward. “Elizabeth,” she muttered, almost to herself. For a long moment, none of them spoke, They just stared at each other. “You look well,” Elizabeth finally said, her

He had the look of a man who wouldn’t take no for an answer.“Again,” he said firmly.I groaned, wiping sweat from my forehead. My body ached from hours of training. “Arthur, we’ve been at this forever.”He didn’t budge. “And we’ll keep going until you get it right.”Frustration bubbled inside me. “I don’t even know what I’m doing. How am I supposed to control something I don’t understand?”“Then you need to understand what is inside you,” he said firmly. I rolled my eyes. “What is inside me then?” I shrugged. He hummed, nodding his head in agreement. “Then let's start with that, because there is no way you can control something you don't know.”“Seriously,” I groaned. More lessons again. “Can't we just cut some slack? I'm seriously tired, I need rest.”“Rest?” He scoffed. “You can only get rest if you are ready to wake up in a dungeon full of rouges.”My lips curled into a smirk. “I

The Devil Alpha…was Ava?“Ava?” I called, my voice laced with shock. She blinked up at me, just as confused. “Arthur…what’s happening?”Almost an hour later, we were all seated quietly in a room, our eyes locked on Ava, no one ever thought Ava could be the devil Alpha. “Okay,” Ava frowned, breaking the silence. “Can you guys just stop staring at me like I am some punk?”Amelia folded her hands under her breasts. “Well—well,” she stuttered, still looking confused. “We are just confused,” I blurted out. “None of us ever imagined that you were the devil Alpha, I mean you were so close to us.”Amelia nodded in agreement. “This has only gone from bad to crazy,” she laughed, biting her lips. “This is just so hard to believe.”“I can't believe you kept this away from me,” the words came out as I stared at her in disbelief and d

We sat quietly glancing glances at each other as the black witch continued with her work. Amelia moved to her, whispering something to her, the witch turned to her with a cold glare. “What do you know about black magic?” She questioned her, her expressions flickered to disdain. “What the hell do you think you can do to help me?”Amelia frowned, stepping back. “I just wanted to help, you don't have to be harsh with your words.”I winced as I clutched my wounded arm. The pain was almost unbearable, I can't believe this was what my victims had to pass through before they died. Amelia walked to me. “Who does she think she is?” She eyed. “I am almost the best witch in our time, just because I don't practice black magic doesn't mean my powers aren't as powerful as it.”I smiled, despite the pain. “It's okay, Amelia, just let her go to work.”Amelia rolled her eyes as the bla
