AVA'S POV.

It felt like a huge rock had been dropped on me at that instant, I stared at Arthur, my jaws dropped open faintly, wondering if I heard what Arthur just said.

His face wasn't saying what his mouth was saying, he looked so calm, like he didn't just say those words.

I swallowed hard, forcing a smile. “What did you say?” I asked, my eyes widened in hope and curiosity.

He inhaled deeply and took my hands in his. “I was the one that killed your parents.”

I jerked my hands away, staggering backwards, I couldn't express what I was feeling at that moment but I could feel my heart shattering into tiny pieces.

I placed my hand on my chest, swallowing the lump in my throat. I darted my eyes to my mother, tears flowing down my cheeks..

“I was thinking your mother would have told you,” he added.

“My mother?” I asked, darting my eyes back to him. “So you knew about it? Did you know about it?” I snapped.

She turned to Arthur, her brows furrowed in anger.

AUTHOR'S POVFew minutes before the attack. The air was filled with tension in the dimly lit chamber. Elena’s piercing gaze swept through the room, Elizabeth sat down quietly on her chair while Oliver kept cracking his knuckles. The flickering candlelight cast long shadows on the stone walls, adding to the weight of the moment.“It’s time,” Elena declared, her voice smooth but filled with deadly intent.Elizabeth turned to Elena, her brows furrowed in curiosity. “Ava is almost due. Won’t it be easier to wait until she gives birth?”Elena’s lips curled into a smirk. “I have no patience for waiting, Ava has done her very worst, she has made Arthur a laughing stock.”“How is that her fault?” Elizabeth frowned. “Have you forgotten that your prophecy was false or are you trying to make it real?”“I don't think you understand, a new prophecy came out,” Elena swallowed hard, flickering her eyes away to avoid Elizabeth's curious glare. “What are you talking about?” Elizabeth scoffed. “

AVA’S POVPain. That was the only thing my head was registering right now. It felt like my body was being torn apart from the inside. I couldn’t breathe. I clutched my stomach, my nails digging into my skin. Arthur’s furious voice echoing through the tiny room. “We’re leaving. Now.”His voice filled with authority and desperation. I looked up at him, my vision blurry from tears and pain. He was now in his human form, but still standing tall over Elena and Elizabeth. Blood dripped from his claws, his glowing eyes locked onto them with pure rage.Garrick stood beside him, his body covered in blood. He looked at me, his jaws dropped open. “Elena, take her somewhere safe,” Arthur ordered. Elena hesitated, but one glare from Arthur made her nod quickly. “There’s a house far from the city. You can go there,” Arthur revealed, a loud shout in the hallway made our head turn. Garrick took a peep outside, he turned back immediately, his eyes widened in fear. “They are here.”Arthur no

Arthur’s POV. Blood soaked the marble floors, pooled in the cracks, and stained the walls of the palace. The scent of blood filled the air, mixing with the smoke from the fires that still burned. We have been fighting for three long hours, three long brutal hours. The Queen’s people were relentless. More troops of the queen's people kept flooding into the palace. The queen must have been pissed by what we did to her people. They came prepared not giving us any room to rest, they didn't even care about their lives, they didn't bother to retreat when more sentinels were summoned from other packs but in the end we still won. I had lost count of how many bodies had fallen to my clawsCharles, despite his injuries, refused to retreat. He stood his ground, cutting down anyone who dared approach him. When the final enemy fell, the place went silent. Only the crackling flames and the distant cries of the wounded remained.I exhaled sharply, my chest heaving. My eyes scanned over the ruin

Amelia’s POV Amelia stood in the dimly lit chamber, her hands folded tightly in front of her. Elizabeth stood across from her, her expression unreadable.“You have disappointed me, Elizabeth,” Amelia said, her voice colder than the chill in the room. “I can't believe you are the black witch helping Oliver, you have been by our side for months now, I can't believe my own sister was a traitor.”“I am a traitor?* Elizabeth scoffed. “Please stop acting like a self-righteous bitch.”“Elizabeth, I waited years to finally see my sister and now that I have found her, she wants to take everything away from me, my family.”“They are not your family,” Elizabeth growled, her fists clenched tightly beside her. “I really can't believe everything you told me and I don't want to believe it, please tell me you are lying.”Elizabeth’s lips curved slightly, a bitter smile playing at the corners. “No,” she admitted, tilting her head. “I am not.”Amelia clenched her fists. “You know black witches are fo

Arthur’s POVI stood there, breathing hard, my body still aching from the last great battle that happened in the palace. My hands clenched into fists, shaking with rage.“Oliver,” I growled, my voice filled with rage. How could I have not seen this? I knew Garrick had changed, u knew there was something off about him but never did I suspect a false identity. I glared at him. “Where is Garrick? What have you done to him?”Oliver smirked and wiped the blood from his lips. “Garrick?” He tilted his head like he was thinking, then grinned. “Oh, you mean your little friend? He fought well, but not well enough, he really thought he could fight me, I honestly gave him a chance to flee.”My heart pounded as I waited for him to give me the answer I was scared to hear. Oliver slowly raised his hand and squeezed his fingers together. “I crushed him to pieces, snapped his bones one by one. He begged for his life at the end but it was too late, I don't give two chances, that I learnt from you.”

Author’s POVThe room was silent except for Ava’s sobs. She lay weakly on the bloodstained sheets, reaching out with trembling hands to take her son.“Please, give me my baby,” she begged, tears streaming down her face.Amelia stood by the window, holding the child tightly. The baby cried filling the room, his small body squirming in her arms. Amelia’s heart pounded loudly in her chest as she scanned the room, she was looking for a way to escape with the boy. She looked out the window, it wasn't that far from the ground, maybe a small magic trick could help them down safely but Amelia couldn't take the risks of something happening to the child in the process. Elizabeth's lips curled into a satisfied smile, her eyes on the boy in Amelia's arm, before turning her cold eyes to Ava. “He will be raised by the right person now,” she said, her voice filled with satisfaction. “No! No, please!” Ava cried, trying to sit up, but she was too weak.Elizabeth smiled walking closer to Amelia, he

Ava’s POVThree days had passed, but the pain in my chest hadn’t lessened. Arthur was gone, and his body had never been found. Without it, there was no real proof of his death, and part of me still clung to the hope that he might return. But deep down, I knew the truth. The kingdom had lost its leader, and I had lost my husband.I sat at the long wooden table in the grand hall, my son cradled in my arms. His tiny breaths were the only thing keeping me grounded. The room was filled with murmurs as the elders whispered to one another. Their faces etched with disappointment and worries. I inhaled deeply, looking for the best way to call their attention. I tapped my fingers on the table, nervously as I darted my eyes from one elder to another. None of them were paying attention to me. Charles walked in, the room went silent slowly as they all turned to him, he bowed to me before walking closer to me and sat at the head of the table, his expression unreadable. Ava’s pov. The morning sun filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room. I slowly woke up, my body sinking into the soft mattress. I turned my head and saw Arthur sitting at the edge of the bed, cradling our son in his arms, a small smile playing on his lips as he held the child's fingers. “I think you are only doing this so he can make you his favourite when he grows up,” I said. He turns to me with a smile. “You’re awake,” he said gently, meeting my gaze.I nodded and pushed myself up slowly. My body ached, but compared to everything we had been through, this pain was nothing. It has been months now after the war, everything was slowly going back to normal, except the fact that impure wolves can now live freely. Jennifer was arrested but couldn't bear the fact that after years of planning, she failed not just to an enemy but to an impure wolf, she could take that shame, so she killed herself. Arthur carefully placed our baby in my arms. I looked down at

Arthur’s POVA cold wind howled across the empty desert as I opened my eyes, sand swirling around me like ghosts whispering in the night. I sat up, blinking my eyes against the dim, eerie glow of the horizon. “Am I dead?” I muttered to myself as I stood up. This was the same desert I was the other time, was I really dead. No, I can't be dead, at least not now, Ava needs my help. I turned around, looking for a place to go but if I remember correctly, this place was like an endless maze. A shuffling sound caught my attention, so I turned immediately. A woman appeared, her long cloak dancing in the wind, her silver eyes glowing like twin moons. She was the same woman I met here.“You again,” I murmured, stepping closer. “What is this? Have I died… again?”She smiled. “You are not dead, Arthur.”“Then what is this place?” I demanded, scanning the endless stretch of sand.“The space between life and death, except that you aren't here as a lost soul but as a redeemed soul,” she said, st

I tried to move, but my wrists were tied behind my back and ankles tied together with thick chains.I lifted my head, and my breath hitched immediately, we were surrounded by Jennifer's men. Dorian lay on the ground a few feet away, his face bloodied, as he tried to get up but couldn't. Dozens of our warriors stood behind us, their hands tied, their eyes filled with fear. “Amelia,” I whispered. She slowly turned to me. “Ava, are you okay?” She asked, her voice weak as she glanced around. “What happened?” I asked her, swallowing hard, keeping my voice low. “We were defeated but I thought Arthur said you should leave, what are you still doing here?” She questioned.I shook my head, the memories of what happened flooded back. “We were going through the back with Dorian but they ambushed us, it was like they were waiting for us.”“Shit, Dor

Oliver stood a few feet away, grinning like he was enjoying every moment of Arthur’s pain.“Oliver,” Arthur growled, clenching his fists. “I killed you.”“And if I remember correctly, I also killed you but here you stand,” Oliver said in a mocking tone. “I guess the black witch brought you back, can't you do anything without help?”Oliver scoffed. “Why are you scared that I would beat you now?” He eyed. Arthur spat on the floor. "You can never win Oliver, you should have just stayed dead," Arthur growled, holding his side.“Really?” Oliver smirked. “Do you really think you can beat me?”“I beat you twice, there is no harm in making it the third.”Oliver chuckled, his eyes filled with amusement. “I do admit you have defeated me, even more than thrice but not again brother, the witches saw my worth that's why they brought me back—” Arthur c

Arthur’s POVWe all sat in the war room, with a few head sentinels, everyone looked tense, some looked afraid, who wouldn't be? This was supposed to be the biggest war of the centuries, one that would decide our fate. Dorian moved to the shelf picking out some maps and threw them on the table. “This is the complete map of my palace.”Charles stepped forward, spreading the maps. “Don't you think it's a stupid move for Jennifer to attack a palace she knows nothing about? She has no idea the layout structure—” Dorian cuts him off.“Are you seriously suggesting there is a mole in my palace?” He frowned. “Yes, I do think there might be a mole in this palace, but it's not your fault, most of our people turned on us.”I nodded, my fingers tracing the structure of the palace on the map. “There are a lot of hiding places that we can use to ambush them, what's this place?” I asked, pointing at a location on the map. “It's an escape route,” he replied, looking at me. “But only I have the key.

This was the house she used to live with her family before Arthur killed her parents. She had decided to come here one last time and see her sister, the only family she had left, Elizabet. Elizabeth was standing right in front of her, Amelia didn’t know what to say or how to feel, she just stared at her. Elizabeth looked the same and different at the same time. Her dark hair was longer and her eyes looked more cold. She wore a black cloak that covered every part of her body, the only thing that wasn't covered was her head and that was because her cloud was down. “Amelia,” Elizabeth said. Amelia swallowed hard, taking a small step forward. “Elizabeth,” she muttered, almost to herself. For a long moment, none of them spoke, They just stared at each other. “You look well,” Elizabeth finally said, her

He had the look of a man who wouldn’t take no for an answer.“Again,” he said firmly.I groaned, wiping sweat from my forehead. My body ached from hours of training. “Arthur, we’ve been at this forever.”He didn’t budge. “And we’ll keep going until you get it right.”Frustration bubbled inside me. “I don’t even know what I’m doing. How am I supposed to control something I don’t understand?”“Then you need to understand what is inside you,” he said firmly. I rolled my eyes. “What is inside me then?” I shrugged. He hummed, nodding his head in agreement. “Then let's start with that, because there is no way you can control something you don't know.”“Seriously,” I groaned. More lessons again. “Can't we just cut some slack? I'm seriously tired, I need rest.”“Rest?” He scoffed. “You can only get rest if you are ready to wake up in a dungeon full of rouges.”My lips curled into a smirk. “I

The pain was almost unbearable, I can't believe this was what my victims had to pass through before they died.
