Ava’s POV

Anna and I sat together in my chambers, still talking about the girl’s death. The news had spread fast, and everyone was shaken by how suddenly it had happened.

“I just don’t understand,” Anna muttered, her fingers twisting the fabric of her dress. “She was locked up. No food. No water. No way to get anything from the outside. So how was she poisoned?”

I shook my head. “It doesn’t make sense. Charles and Amelia checked everything. Arthur did too. The guards who were watching her—” I paused, glancing toward the door as if someone might be listening. “Do you think someone was a traitor?

Anna leaned closer. “That’s not true, Arthur would have known if there was someone like that here.”

“Arthur is a devil Alpha not some god, how is he supposed to know people's mind?” I eyed.

“So are you suggesting someone in this place is a traitor?” She frowned.

“It's a possibility,” I defended, taking in deep breaths.

A shiver ran down my spine. The idea that someone in the palace, a person

Arthur’s POVI sat in my office, leaning back in my chair as Garrick stood before me. His stance was rigid, his expression unreadable. The morning light streamed through the window, casting long shadows on the walls.“Thank you for catching the girl,” I told him.Garrick nodded, but his face darkened. “I only wish we could have kept her alive,” he muttered. “She was killed right under our noses. It’s a disgrace.”I waved a hand dismissively. “Forget about it, Garrick. What’s done is done. We need to focus on what comes next.”Garrick sighed, crossing his arms. “I still don’t understand how it happened. The security was tight, Arthur. No one should have been able to reach her.”I smirked, inhaling deeply. “It was not you guys fault, the queen people are more cunning than I am,” I paused, moving the strains of hair on my face. “As much as I hate to admit that, I know it's true.”He nodded. “Thanks sir, I hope we catch one of those assholes next time.”“Exactly,” I muttered, raising my e

ARTHUR'S POV.The doctor stood beside Ava, his fingers pressed lightly against her wrist. His face was calm, unreadable, as he listened to her heartbeat. I sat in the chair beside her bed, watching his every move.“She just needs rest,” the doctor finally said, straightening.I let out a slow breath. “And when is she due?”He adjusted his glasses and scribbled something in his notebook. “A few days, maybe less, the baby will come when it’s time.”I swallowed hard. A few days. That was all the time I had left.Ava turned her head toward me, her brows furrowed in concern. “Arthur?”I turned to her. “Are you okay?” she frowned. I forced a small smile. “I’m fine.”The doctor nodded to her. “Just rest. No stress, no unnecessary movement. You need your strength.”She sighed. “I understand.”I barely listened as he packed up his bag and left the room. My mind was elsewhere, the Queen’s people hiding in the shadows, and Oliver waiting for his chance to strike. I wouldn’t be able to stop th

Ava's pov. Anna and I moved through the darkened halls of my childhood home, our footsteps light against the wooden floor. The house smelled the same, old books, fresh flowers, and a hint of my mother’s perfume. It was strange being back.We reached my bedroom, and I hesitated before opening the door. The room looked untouched, as if waiting for me to return. My bed was neatly made, the shelves lined with books and small trinkets from my past. I stayed at the door for a little while, memories flashing through my mind, late nights studying, hiding under the blankets with a book when I was supposed to be asleep, listening to the rain against the window.“My room,” I smiled as I stepped in. “I really missed this place,” I laughed, jumping on the bed. “I'm sorry, do you guys need a minute?” Anna joked, walking to my drawer and pulling out a book. “Awwn you still have the tooth you lost when I pulled you out of the river.”“Yeah,” I smiled, walking up to her. “That was the first gift y

AUTHOR'S POV. The elders sat in a semicircle inside the council chamber, their expressions tense. The room was large, with tall windows letting in the pale afternoon light. They had gathered to talk about Arthur's recent failures in catching the queen's people. Arthur had recently caught some of the queen's people but they escaped, those who couldn't die mysteriously. This angered the elders, they wanted answers.“Arthur is incompetent,” one of the elders stated firmly. “He has failed time and time again. The Queen’s men escaped under his watch.”Another elder leaned forward. “It wasn't his fault entirely. The Queen’s men were skilled. We all underestimated them.”Jennifer sat with her hands folded on the table, a small self satisfied smile playing on her lips. “Excuses,” she said. “Arthur has proven himself weak. The Devil Alpha should be stronger.”Silence fell over the room. Some of the elders nodded in agreement. Others remained calm. “This isn't Arthur,” another said. “This

Ava’s POVI sat in my room, my hands gripping the edges of my chair. My mind raced with thoughts I didn’t want to believe. My mother… working with the Queen’s people? It made no sense, yet the evidence was there, staring me in the face. How could she? How could my mother, Jennifer, be involved with the very people we were fighting against?Arthur was furious. He paced the room, his hands clenched into fists. “We were this close,” he growled, his voice tight with frustration. “This is close to catching them, and once again, they slipped away.”I stayed quiet, watching him. He was livid, his jaw tight, his body trembling with anger.“There’s a spy in the palace,” he continued. “Someone is feeding them information.” He turned to me, his golden eyes burning. “We kept everything quiet, yet somehow, they still knew. How?”I swallowed hard. My heart pounded against my ribs.Should I tell him?Should I tell him that the person he was looking for, the traitor, was my own mother?I gripped the

Ava’s POVTwo hours had passed.I sat in Arthur’s office, staring at the stack of documents Charles had pulled from my mother’s office. My hands trembled as I reached for them.“This is everything we found,” Charles said, his voice neutral. “All the documents, all the records. Everything.”Arthur sat beside me, his jaw clenched, his golden eyes cold as he flipped through the papers.I felt sick.Every sheet of paper, every note—it was exactly the same as what we had seen before. Nothing has changed..But why? I turned to my mother, watching her calm expression. How could she be this calm when she has been exposed? Do I really know Jennifer?Arthur picked up a document showing the elders present, their mouths falling open in shock as they exchanged glances. “This is impossible,” Elder Rowan shouted. “Jennifer isn't only a sly bitch but she is also a traitor, who knows if she is the queen herself.”My mother scoffed, folding her hands under her breasts. “This is why I kept those docum

Ava’s POVI barely heard the Elders’ accusations ringing through Arthur’s office. My heart was pounding too loudly.“You are unfit to be Luna of this pack.”Tears flowing down my cheeks, almost weighing me down. They were not wrong but it was just sad that no matter how hard I try I will never be loved by anyone.I had to find my mother. At least I should apologize to the one person that made me who I was today. Ignoring Arthur’s calls, I rushed out of the office and into the hallway. I ran down the hallway, but I couldn't find her, it was as if she had disappeared into thin air. I saw a maid cleaning the sculptures, so I rushed to her. “Have you seen my mother?” I demanded. She nodded, pointing to the direction. “I think she went that way.”I nodded and went in that direction. “Luna, be careful,” she shouted after me. “You are pregnant.”I ignored her warnings and ran after my mother, not actually running but it was more of pushing all my strength to get to my mother. Arthur’s POVI inhaled deeply, taking my seat. Ava had just succeeded in making a fool of herself, more like I have made a fool of myself. C'mon,I know Ava, she is my fucking wife, I should have investigated it myself before lunging at Jennifer. Well who cares, she deserved everything, it's a shame I didn't kill her when I had the chance. The Elders were still gathered, their judgmental gazes still on me.“This is unacceptable,” Elder Marcus declared, shaking his head. “Her behavior is reckless. It puts the pack at risk.”“She made a mistake,” I defended. “A misunderstanding, that’s all.”Elder Rowan scoffed. “Misunderstanding or not, Arthur, this is just another sign of her instability. We cannot afford a Luna who acts on emotion rather than reason.”I scoffed, standing up from my seat slowly, it made the Elders staggered backwards, their confidence crumpling. “Ava was doing what she thought best for the pack, that was her mother, she could have hidden it and moved on.”The Elder

I tried to move, but my wrists were tied behind my back and ankles tied together with thick chains.I lifted my head, and my breath hitched immediately, we were surrounded by Jennifer's men. Dorian lay on the ground a few feet away, his face bloodied, as he tried to get up but couldn't. Dozens of our warriors stood behind us, their hands tied, their eyes filled with fear. “Amelia,” I whispered. She slowly turned to me. “Ava, are you okay?” She asked, her voice weak as she glanced around. “What happened?” I asked her, swallowing hard, keeping my voice low. “We were defeated but I thought Arthur said you should leave, what are you still doing here?” She questioned.I shook my head, the memories of what happened flooded back. “We were going through the back with Dorian but they ambushed us, it was like they were waiting for us.”“Shit, Dor

Arthur spat on the floor. "You can never win Oliver, you should have just stayed dead," Arthur growled, holding his side.“Really?” Oliver smirked. “Do you really think you can beat me?”“I beat you twice, there is no harm in making it the third.”Oliver chuckled, his eyes filled with amusement. “I do admit you have defeated me, even more than thrice but not again brother, the witches saw my worth that's why they brought me back—” Arthur c

Arthur’s POVWe all sat in the war room, with a few head sentinels, everyone looked tense, some looked afraid, who wouldn't be? This was supposed to be the biggest war of the centuries, one that would decide our fate. Dorian moved to the shelf picking out some maps and threw them on the table. “This is the complete map of my palace.”Charles stepped forward, spreading the maps. “Don't you think it's a stupid move for Jennifer to attack a palace she knows nothing about? She has no idea the layout structure—” Dorian cuts him off.“Are you seriously suggesting there is a mole in my palace?” He frowned. “Yes, I do think there might be a mole in this palace, but it's not your fault, most of our people turned on us.”I nodded, my fingers tracing the structure of the palace on the map. “There are a lot of hiding places that we can use to ambush them, what's this place?” I asked, pointing at a location on the map. “It's an escape route,” he replied, looking at me. “But only I have the key.

Author’s POVAmelia stood in the middle of a broken house, her heart pounding loudly as the wind rushed through the empty stone walls, carrying the smell of damp earth and the past. This was the house she used to live with her family before Arthur killed her parents. She had decided to come here one last time and see her sister, the only family she had left, Elizabet. Elizabeth was standing right in front of her, Amelia didn’t know what to say or how to feel, she just stared at her. Elizabeth looked the same and different at the same time. Her dark hair was longer and her eyes looked more cold. She wore a black cloak that covered every part of her body, the only thing that wasn't covered was her head and that was because her cloud was down. “Amelia,” Elizabeth said. Amelia swallowed hard, taking a small step forward. “Elizabeth,” she muttered, almost to herself. For a long moment, none of them spoke, They just stared at each other. “You look well,” Elizabeth finally said, her

He had the look of a man who wouldn’t take no for an answer.“Again,” he said firmly.I groaned, wiping sweat from my forehead. My body ached from hours of training. “Arthur, we’ve been at this forever.”He didn’t budge. “And we’ll keep going until you get it right.”Frustration bubbled inside me. “I don’t even know what I’m doing. How am I supposed to control something I don’t understand?”“Then you need to understand what is inside you,” he said firmly. I rolled my eyes. “What is inside me then?” I shrugged. He hummed, nodding his head in agreement. “Then let's start with that, because there is no way you can control something you don't know.”“Seriously,” I groaned. More lessons again. “Can't we just cut some slack? I'm seriously tired, I need rest.”“Rest?” He scoffed. “You can only get rest if you are ready to wake up in a dungeon full of rouges.”My lips curled into a smirk. “I

The Devil Alpha…was Ava?“Ava?” I called, my voice laced with shock. She blinked up at me, just as confused. “Arthur…what’s happening?”Almost an hour later, we were all seated quietly in a room, our eyes locked on Ava, no one ever thought Ava could be the devil Alpha. “Okay,” Ava frowned, breaking the silence. “Can you guys just stop staring at me like I am some punk?”Amelia folded her hands under her breasts. “Well—well,” she stuttered, still looking confused. “We are just confused,” I blurted out. “None of us ever imagined that you were the devil Alpha, I mean you were so close to us.”Amelia nodded in agreement. “This has only gone from bad to crazy,” she laughed, biting her lips. “This is just so hard to believe.”“I can't believe you kept this away from me,” the words came out as I stared at her in disbelief and d

We sat quietly glancing glances at each other as the black witch continued with her work. Amelia moved to her, whispering something to her, the witch turned to her with a cold glare. “What do you know about black magic?” She questioned her, her expressions flickered to disdain. “What the hell do you think you can do to help me?”Amelia frowned, stepping back. “I just wanted to help, you don't have to be harsh with your words.”I winced as I clutched my wounded arm. The pain was almost unbearable, I can't believe this was what my victims had to pass through before they died. Amelia walked to me. “Who does she think she is?” She eyed. “I am almost the best witch in our time, just because I don't practice black magic doesn't mean my powers aren't as powerful as it.”I smiled, despite the pain. “It's okay, Amelia, just let her go to work.”Amelia rolled her eyes as the bla
