Elisha’s POV
“Forget about it.” Arman said with a blank expression.
I opened my phone, and scrolled down to see the news on social media, and to my surprise we were the ones who were made to take the blame for what happened to Harry, the only heir to the Jameson family, who suffered severe brain damage.
Harry's father and grandfather are two of the most influential persons in the business world. Dave Jameson accused my family of wrongdoing, and my father accepted the blame for it all because he did not want my mother, sister, or myself to become embroiled in this scandal. After all, in the first place, it was my father's fault for having a massive debt to the Jameson Family.
At this very moment, I am entirely at a loss for what to do. Harry was in a coma, but doctors expected him to leave this world in fewer than twenty-four hours. As I sat on the corner and attempted to compose myself, I cried my eyes out in an unbearable way, my sobs sounding like a deluge of raindrops falling from the sky. I glanced at the car’s window and silently prayed, hoping my father would be okay in prison.
I wiped my tears away when I felt like someone was watching me. Arman sat right there with hands in his pocket. He stared at me with cold eyes, and it feels like he looks like a different person right now.
“Why are you crying?”
“Why am I crying?!” I repeated his sentence, and scoffed sarcastically, how can this man sound so insensitive and cold?
I shook my head and was ready to open the car’s door but he grabbed my hand and said, "I can help you and your family in one condition."
I looked at him expectantly but with a hint of disappointment in my eyes and said, "You know what? I don't need your help...."
He retaliated verbally. "But you need help desperately."
I didn't react, and he pulled me closer to him, and mumbled hoarsely, “Right, Elisha?”
“Why are you doing this to me?” I asked softly.
“Because you need me, and I need you.”
Then I asked again, “Then what do you want from me?”
He looked at me for a considerable amount of time, and his eyes seemed to glow eerily in the darkness. After that, he uttered the words, which were words that I didn't anticipate him to say. "I want you to marry me so that my ex would feel the urge to come back to me, if she comes back, then it's done between us, and I'll divorce you as soon as possible."
He's a nice-looking guy, but why would a man with his height and perfect looks act like he's desperate for his ex? I nodded my head and twiddled my finger in a sigh.
“Deal.”
*************
Last night, he forced me to sign the marriage contract, and the whole thing happened so quickly that I cried while I looked at myself in the mirror.
When I think about how I felt betrayed by myself when I married someone I didn't love, my heart is so heavy and full of anguish that it hurts to even think about it.
Childhood dreams are not anything like reality. No matter how much I try, the fact it will always be unfair.
"Are you done?" I could feel his voice in the room. I immediately put on a towel to cover my naked body, and then I opened the bathroom door. "Y-Yeah…"
He looked at me from head to toe and said, "Maybe you need to choose a dress, right? You can't walk that way at an event."
“What? We are going somewhere?”
“Yes, A Ceremony.”
I take a deep breath even though I don't understand anything. "The ceremony, for what?" I closed the door and pushed him outside, hesitant, touching him on his chest; I smiled at him even though his face looked annoyed by my reaction.
“Just…Just wait for me here.”

Arman’s POV
Pretty almond eyes, a cute pointed nose, sweet red lips, and a face of an angel; that is what she looked like when she walked towards me with a forced smile on her lips. I don’t understand why I chose this woman, but it only happened on a night when I mistook her for a call girl. There’s something in her that pulled me like a magnet and made me want to have her all myself. Her scent is addicting. I know she’s human, but I can choose a human mate and make her my queen if I want to.
However, that is not the case because the one and only lady I love has cheated on me. She claims that she loves me so much, so why would she sleep with another man?
...and that is the reason why I no longer want a Lycan girl in my life.
My ancestors were the last members of the Lycan Hierarchy before we experimented with living among humans over several centuries. During one of these experiments, I met Madeline Line; my mother had adopted her and treated her as though she was a member of the family. We grew up together until we reached adulthood, at which point I decided to mate with her, but the mating did not go as planned.
I took a deep breath and drank the last of my whisky. I looked at the woman next to me and saw her nervousness. She looked like her worry was attacking her. I gave her a stern look, and she dropped her head because she couldn't look me in the eyes.
I don’t understand humans, but this girl—made me want to understand her deeply.
“Don’t look at me like that.”
“And why not? I’m admiring the human girl that I married.”
Her cheeks blushed red, and that something makes me scratch my neck because of the awkwardness I felt between the two of us.
When Madeline came in, she smelled like—my enemy.
"Hi…."
Elisha stood up with a smile on her face, and Madeline stared at her without blinking.
"I'm Madeline. The Ex-wife."
Elisha’s POVThe woman who just walked in caught my eye. She wore a black dress that fit her well and made her look classy. Some of the guests met her in the middle of the hallway as she walked slowly and with poise. The host opened the door for her, and as she looked around, our eyes met. She walked towards me and Arman as if she already knew us. Then I stood up with a shy smile, but this woman's face changed as she stared at me so hard that she didn't even blink. I get the feeling that she wants to eat me up like an angry wolf. “Hi, I’m Elisha…and you are?” “I’m Madeline, The Ex-wife.” I was surprised to know that, so this is the Ex-wife that wants Arman to come back to him. In the corner of my eye, Arman stood up with a blank expression."So, is this the ceremony where you married a lowly woman in front of everyone? Hmm?" Madeline seems unfriendly. She kept staring at me like she wanted to stab me. "At least the girl I'm going with isn't as cheap as you are." Arman spoke up.
Elisha’s POVI was horror-struck when I saw Arman beat up all the bad guys with guns with his bare hands and unbelievable speed, making them groan in pain and run away as if they were running for their lives because they were afraid to die. I pushed down my fear as I stared at him in the middle of the road. His eyes flashed red when he looked at me, but when I blinked, they went back to normal. Or maybe I was just hallucinating. I stepped back and raised an eyebrow as I looked at him from afar. "How on earth did you do that? You...You make them look like a loser, but you're---alone, how? Explain it to me. Do you have a superpower?" He laughed at me, “Do you think I’m your Superman?” I frowned at him, and he said, “That’s nonsense, can you just thank me for saving my life again?” I shrugged my shoulders, and let out a soft sigh, “Well, thank you….” He walked over to his car and opened the front seat. Then, with sharp eyes, he looked at me. "Harry's family wants you dead. Aren't yo
Elisha’s POVI punched him in the face, and I gasped in pain. It felt like I had hit a rock, and my hands hurt. I held my left hand while I stared at him in shock and confusion. Suddenly, my left hand hurt so bad that I could only grit my teeth and endure the pain. His eyes broadened, and he grabbed my hand to see if I was all right. But I stepped back and told him, "Don't touch me!" I walked inside the hospital and he followed me inside, he looked for a Doctor to look for my sprained knuckles. “Doctor, can you take a look at her hand?” "Yes, Of course!" The Doctor stopped what he was doing, and then took me to his clinic. Then he said, “Did you punch a wall? It looks like your knuckles hurt so bad, it was swollen already.” I sighed and looked over at Arman, who was standing in the corner and listening to the Doctor's query. Arman's eyes landed on me. I gave him a dirty look and said to the Doctor, "Damn, I didn't know his face was made of metal.""Oh, that's it? So you smacked s
Elisha’s POV“Arman, we have been waiting for you for an hour now. Come on inside, we need to have to talk—” A woman who had a pair of eyeglasses glanced at me. She paused a little, then continued, “Well, tell her that we have an important meeting tonight. This can’t be tomorrow.” Arman escorted me inside the house while his hand was over my waist, “My butler will take care of you.” A woman in a suit smiled at me but looked like she could easily punch me in the face if I did something wrong. I sighed, sat down on the couch while scrolling something on my phone screen, and said, "Fine."Arman left the living room when he heard the woman outside, but I didn't know that they went to another building. There's a group of people outside, and it looks like they're having a conference room meeting. The Butler said, “Ma’am, may I?” She was staring at my bag, and I shook my head, “No, it’s okay…” She folded her hand together gracefully, then smiled, “Okay, let me show you your room…” “My
Elisha’s POVI came back to him just to snatch my bra in his hand, and he got a very sweet smile on his face while he was staring at me.“Arman, I’m not playing with you!” He winked at me, “Neither do I…” “Stop looking at me like that, it doesn't suit you, okay?” It feels like he was having fun to make me feel angry, and embarrassed at the same time. I walked inside the room again and put on the bra; after that, I went downstairs and saw everyone laughing and chit-chatting around. I took a step forward and saw a lot of people outside. It looks like I was staring at a group of clans in Arman’s family. The giggling ended as soon as Arman caught sight of me and stopped what he was doing; simultaneously, the corners of my lips began to pull apart in surprise. Arman stepped toward me and beckoned me over, saying, "Hey....come here, baby." “So, is this the human that you are talking about, bro?” The man with eight packs asked and winked at me. “Hi, I’m Zel.” Zel extended his hands and
Elisha’s POV"No." I walked away from him and grabbed my purse. Everyone saw me leave the Villa, and Arman had nothing to do with it. He just saw me leave the Villa and stopped chasing me because it might look like he was desperate for me, so he just let me go and told the guards, "Close the Gate!" I heard his mom ask, “What is going on, son?!” I walked into the street without looking back, and when I saw the gate close, I walked as fast as I could and tried to find a taxi, but I thought this was private land and no public transportation goes here. So I walked and walked until I got to the street where people looked for public transit. When I got to the Hart Empire, the building looked empty. It made me sad to think that the building used to be full of life and happiness, but now it seems like an abandoned building. I took a deep breath and tried not to cry as I looked at everything that was missing.I touched the building while trying to break down but I couldn’t help myself but c
Elisha’s POV“He’s in a coma.” Four words immediately put my heart skipped a beat, and my world stopped moving as I heard that from my sister. I couldn’t stop thinking about my Dad and what would have happened to him in the past few days. “Mom, let me explain.” I tried to talk to my mom, but she was distant and glared at me angrily while pointing at the exit; she gulped and said in a cracked voice, “Leave…..I don’t want to see your face!” “Mom—” “I said, Leave!”I had to leave with a sad heart because she didn't even listen to what I had to say. Where did I go wrong? Do they ever think I could do something like that to Dad? As I slowly walked away from the hospital, tears slowly came out of my eyes. Then I saw him again. I quickly wiped away my tears, and my nervousness went away when I saw him take a few more steps toward me. His eyes were like magnets that wanted to pull me back to him, but I stood still and didn't even dare to move. “Arman…” I whispered under my breath. The
Elisha’s POV He was fast…strong and wildly capable of doing something that was impossible for humans like me. Even though I had been gazing at the wall the entire time, I could only see Arman's face—his grin and the crimson glint that appeared in his eyes whenever he became enraged. I had convinced myself that I was merely hallucinating, but I saw his red eyes again today. As he struggled to keep the car from careening off the edge of the cliff, his eyes flared a bright crimson, and in an effort to keep me safe, he held both my head and the door of the car and embraced my body so nothing happened to me. When I opened my eyes, I found him covered in blood with cuts on his arms, legs, and other body parts. My first fear was that he would lose his arms, but his body quickly returned to its previous state, and he carried on as if nothing had happened. "Mrs. Ashford...." I thought no one was calling my name because I was deep in thought, but I heard a woman call my name for the third
Elisha’s POVGut-wrenching sobs that tore through my chest as I started to recognize the old woman walking towards me with a pitty smile on her face. Her body was covered in bruises and scars inflicted by my nasty biological father. Kaiser gave me a sweet smile, and I smiled back at him, then Arman took him from me. Arman kissed our baby’s forehead and whispered to my ear, “Go, greet your mom….”I can’t believe that I’ll be able to meet her in this surprising situation, and I couldn’t help but slowly wipe my tears away. Cole smiled at me warmly, and Steffina and Farkas were staring at me, walking towards my mom, and they were overwhelmed. “Are….Are you Elisha? Are you my daughter?” she asked while her hands were trembling, touching the side of my face. I nodded my head while crying in front of her, and whispered, “I—I’m your daughter….I am.” I took a deep breath and hugged her fragile body because she was so thin, looked malnourished, and her body was shaking. I grabbed Arman’s coa
Elisha’s POVLooking up at the sky with hot tears running down my face, I asked myself, "Why is this happening to me? That my little baby wasn't even here with me." There isn't even a scent in here that would help me find them. "Cole?! Nancy! Where are you guys? We're already here..." I took a step back as fear and a lot of questions filled my mind. At that moment, all I could think about was my son. To hug him, feel his little feet on my face, and smell his sweet scent. I miss him so much that I couldn't hold back the tears that kept falling from my melancholy eyes.Arman looked around and tried to step inside the ruined Villa, and he found nothing but all the dead bodies of his men and other hybrids. We both stared at each other with worry, and he shook his head, “Elisha, I can’t find them. Maybe we should look more….maybe they left.” I nodded my head, and Arman came towards me, and cupped my face, slowly wiping my tears, and said, “We are going to find them, okay? Just don’t lo
Elisha’s POV“Arman….” I called his name, and Steffina stood up as she finally healed from her broken ribs. She carries me to the top floor when all of the doors automatically open. She said, “What we need to do right now is to escape this place, you know what will happen if we don't! This place will explode in five minutes. We gotta go, Elisha.” I gulped hard, and cried softly, “What will happen to them? How about Arman and Farkas?” She held my hand, “They are going to be fine, my worry is you….you look like you’re dying! We gotta jump now!” I took a deep breath in and looked down in fear. She looked at me and said, "Don't tell me you're afraid of falling. Don't worry, I got you." We jumped together, she grabbed my hand, and I muttered, "Damn! I don't wanna die!" She said, "No, but hold my hand when we get to the ground." I closed my eyes, and the harsh effect of gravity made us both roll around on the ground so painfully. I thought I had died, but I'm still alive. Marcus got o
Arman’s POVThe scream of Elisha echoed through the building as I was in the midst of a fight with Lazaro, who had gone to the top floor looking for an exit. So I stopped chasing Lazaro, and he laughed, "Would you want to lose your mate just to kill me? Hey, kid. You need to save her! and let me fucking go!" Are you sure you can get away from me? Lazaro, no. There is no way out. That's right, I have the key to this building!" Lazaro's expression turned pale.I stopped and jumped up and down every floor to find Elisha. On the last floor, I saw her gasping for air as Jake tried to choke her to death. Jake was on top of her while she was on the floor and could no longer move. In a fit of rage, I leaped behind Jake and gave him a swift spin of the neck. When he opened his eyes in shock, I opened my palm and used all my effort to sever his head from his body, then kicked his lifeless body away from Elisha.I heard Elisha coughing in pain, and when I looked at her, I realized that she had
Elisha’s POVI let out a scream of agony as I strained to bear the pain. Steffina extracted all the golden bullets from my flesh with her fangs and her bare hands. I shook in pain, and all I could see was hazy pixels."Don't sleep, just bear the pain!" she whispered. "You'll lose yourself if you sleep..." She smiled at me and took the last bullet inside. "You'll be fine in a few hours, but we still need to get out of here, and take you to the hospital." I stood up, "I'm not leaving this place without Arman." As she helped me walk down the hall, I opened my mouth to breathe properly and quietly cried. The second time we took the elevator, I put my hand on hers and said, "Thank you." She smiled at me, and hugged me. “Everything is going to be fine, Elisha….Baby Kaiser is waiting for you. You need to stay strong.” The elevator opened to the top floor, but we didn't see anyone there. I said, "Just find Farkas, and I'm going to find Arman." Steffina was hesitant, but I held her hand,
Elisha’s POVAs I screamed in fear, everyone stumbled and involuntarily threw themselves against every wall in the room. Everything broke, even mirrors and glasses. Steffina looked at me blankly while she put her hands over her ears. She grabbed my arm and said, "Let's go find them." We both run upstairs as we take our way going to the lift, but someone behind us chases us. “Run as fast as you can Elisha….” I wasn't aware that I had an open wound on the side of my stomach, which is why I felt a little weak. It would take too long to heal, because the freak who tried to kill me was a hybrid, not a human. I put a pressure on my stomach, and breathed heavily, and Steffina still grabbed my hand as we arrived at the elevator. We pressed the button going to the last floor, and the hybrid who chased us almost stepped in, but I broke his arm, and he yelled in pain as he lost his left arm. I closed my eyes and sat on the floor, "Fuck...Where have you been, Steffina? How did you get into th
Elisha’s POVArman grabbed Jake by the collar and lifted him above the roof. Madeline tried to help Jake, but I grabbed her legs, spun her twice, and threw her outside the restaurant. Every door and window in the hotel was locked, and she knew there was no way to outrun death."You're stuck in here, Madeline." She stepped back and punched the wall to create a massive hall to another room, and she ran to another room while I was chasing her. She stopped for a moment and showed me her fangs. “Elisha! I have no idea that you can outsmart me, so come here, and let’s end this!” "Oh," I said, shaking my head. You have taught me that you cannot fool me twice, so thank you." When she fired the trigger, I dove for cover, dodging the few shots that were headed my way. When she ran out of bullets, she threw the gun and attacked me, trying to scratch my face.“You don’t deserve a life, Elisha! You better die! Die! Die! Die!” I screamed at her, “And you deserved another scratch, Madeline.” I ga
Elisha’s POVSophia laughed hysterically, grabbed my hand, and whispered, "She's alive, like me...There is life after death." To me, it sounds like she's not Sophia anymore. I stomped on her foot and yanked on her arm to throw her. She snarled at me, and her eyes widened when I approached her and kicked her in the face. After she let out a piercing cry of pain, I took a few steps back, at which point she regained her composure, stood up tall, and gazed at me with a grin. She summoned the air with her strength to control the situation, drew her sword, and pointed it at me. Do you think I'm scary, Elisha? We're sisters, right?" she asked as she came over to me without shielding her eyes. While running as fast as she could, she aimed her sharp sword straight at me, but I dodged out of the way and threw a chair at her. And when I looked around, I saw that the blood had spread out and mixed together on the floor. The hotel's employees—the waiters, the cooks—gave their lives for this figh
Elisha’s POVAs the night fell, we waited for Lazaro and his team to show up. I was getting so scared about what would happen. Everyone is already in their position, and we are anticipating what will take place later tonight. I inhaled deeply and then exhaled as I continued to monitor the forest and all of the guards standing outside. We looked at each other, and I could feel Arman's excitement as he looked forward to seeing all the traitors tonight. I fix his tie and look deeply into his eyes. I fear losing this man, but I trust that he knows what he's doing. We locked our hands together, and I smiled at him, and said, “We can do it.” “Yes,” Farkas was already sharpening his claws as he waited for the front door to open. I let out a deep breath and sighed. I could really feel them coming, and they were already standing in front of the entrance door.My pupils dilated, and the staff member at the front desk opened the door. Lazaro stood there like a real devil, smiling in a mean wa
