72: Unexpected Events

The white ceiling was the first thing I saw the moment I opened my eyes. The pain in my cheek and headache I endured and blinked to correct my vision.

I closed my eyes to remember why I am in such place. I moved my hand but I realized something was attached to it. Then I heard voices. Those were familiar but the void didn't vanish. I didn't feel safe.

"She's awake ..." said a voice I'm sure from Tita Alandra.

"Oh my! Kaia!" One hand held my arm.

I opened my eyes and there I saw who was in that room.

Rose was sitting on the side of the bed and crying as she held me. Beside her were Tita Alandra and Georgia. Both of them have weary eyes while staring at me. Tita's nose was red as if she had just started crying. At my feet stood Aunt Susie and Brenda with both puffy eyes.

"A-What's going on?"

Brenda's eyes widened.

I got up and leaned back on the bed. I closed my eyes emphatically.
