Daemon had been bullied since he took the throne. He knew kindness and gentleness won't work, especially when dealing with those corrupted ministers and officials.
Oh, but he had an idea. The most devious and wicked idea. And it all stem from a certain woman, a woman who intruded into his palace. Daemon's mind flashed back to five years ago when he met her.
FIVE YEARS AGO
A woman sat seductively on the grand steps of Daemon's palace. The steps lead from the outside of the palace until to the throne of the demon emperor. She sat there calmly, admiring her dark coloured nails as if they were made of gold - something precious that deserves to be admired.
Her cleavage was shown clearly as she wore only a leather bra with its traps coiling around her stomach twice. Her long legs were peaking out from her slit skirt. Her skin was smooth and silky. A dark red cape covered her back as her long prenaturally white hair draped over her shoulders.
Daemon wasn't feeling good. He had many reports from the commoners. All were complaining about the drought they were expecting in the next month, the monster demons that came every now and then to gobble up the villagers, and the bullying they received from the local ministers.
He stomped up the grand steps. He couldn't wait to vent his anger at his office where no one was looking. He kicked open the double doors to his throne room and what a surprise did he had! He saw a lovely and fair maiden, almost half naked as she had showed so much skin, sitting on his grand steps, just four steps below his grand golden throne.
Who in the world has such boldness and courage to actually come uninvited to HIS throne room? The moment he laid his eyes on her, he began to feel uncomfortable from looking at her bare soft and supple skin. He noticed she had white hair but her face was that of twenty something woman.
He didn't know what to say to her. Should he yell and scold her for being so bold as to come uninvited to his throne room? Or should he politely asked her of she came here for help? Or maybe call the guards to drag her out? He couldn't decide. He was about to open his mouth and say something when the woman suddenly turned her head and look at him straight into his eyes.
She wore heavy mascara and red lipstick as red as blood. "Your throne is quite comfortable. Even something so simple like this staircase makes me feel the honour of a demon emperor," she spoke in a sultry voice.
Daemon felt angry. "Who are you? Why are you here? How dare you taint my grand steps with your......," Daemon started to raise his voice but was lost for words. He wasn't good with words nor eloquent. He looked at her from head to toe, not knowing how to describe her in a negative way.
"With your rude behaviour here!" He continued where his words left off. "Oh," she puckered her lips. She had the look that she didn't care about anything, not even the demon emperor who's standing before her.
Daemon controlled his breathing, taking in deep breaths.
He was already angry from the reports of the commoners and now added with this woman whose calm and daring behaviour had made his anger worse.
"Lady, I asked you a question and I expect you answer it," he demanded. She stood up and flipped back her white silky hair over her shoulder. She took a step down towards Daemon. Then slowly, she took another step towards him. She folded her hands politely over her abdomen.
"Daemon, is it?" She was now every close to Daemon who remained unmoved. He cannot hit her or back down. He would look weak and brutal if he'd punch her. "You are quite daring, to call my real name. Have you no respect?" They were standing a few centimetres apart from each other. She smiled. A strange but seductive smile. "And you're quite brave yourself, for being of ignorant of me," she put a hand on Daemon's shoulder.
He could feel the heat from her fingers travel through his clothes to his skin. But he didn't push her away. He stared straight into her eyes. Who is she? She doesn't seem to be someone of ordinance.
"Let me give you a word," she said staring him in the eyes. He stared back. There was something about her eyes. Something. He couldn't explain it. She looked young, about twenty plus something, but the look in her eyes reflected that of an experienced woman, a woman who had seen life and death, a woman who had seen darkness and light.
"Weeds and grasess will always grow in your garden. When you pull them out, they will regrow again, but more in number. You do it again, they'll grow again. If you use your shears to snip them short enough, they'll think twice about growing in your garden. If you speak to them with words, they will not hear it for they are deaf, but if you treat them cruelly as if they are nothing but ants in your eyes, they'll dare to come to your garden. A tree won't grow fruits unless it is nurtured properly, with fertilizer and water," her hand moved from Daemon's shoulder to his neck.
She caressed his neck calmly and slowly. Daemon held his breath as he listened to her words. He could feel her hot breath on his skin near his neck and jaw. "That fertilizer and water must come from you, and you only,"
Daemon glanced sideways at her, feeling uncomfortable for being touched at that spot. She did it so casually! Then she removed her hand from his neck and proceed to walk further down the grand steps. Daemon stood still, as of he was glued to the steps. He wanted to move and turn but his legs wouldn't obey his commands.
She walked a few steps down exiting the throne room. Then she turned looking at Daemon's back. "And, make sure those weed and grasess don't ever think about you."
She opened the double doors and left, her words still lingering in the air. Her last words before she left sounded like a warning. There was something about her words that he couldn't quite grasp, some hidden meaning behind it. Finally, Daemon let out a breath, a breath of relief and something. He couldn't quite make out of it. He didn't bother to see if she had left. If she can enter without anyone noticing, she can do the same while leaving. Instead, he quickly rushed up the grand steps to his office, taking two steps at a time. He burst through the doors of his office and threw himself down into his stone chair padded with luxurious cushion of red, violet and gold. He started looking through the reports sent by the commoners. Frustrated at his result of having no solution to their problems, he swipe them all down angrily. The reports clattered as they hid the stone cold floor. Then he buried his head in his hands, thinking and thinking. He thought about the words she said. The we
Victoria Bennett ran and ran. The branches and leaves scratched her bare arms. The leaves rustled under the feet. She heard something coming up from behind. It started to get closer and closer! She was out of breath but she knew she cannot stop. Without sparing a second thought, she ran through the woods. The woods were known for snakes and demonic monsters. She had no choice. It's die now or later. Victoria ran up to a big tree and lean against it catching her breath. She looked around and the creature chasing her was gone. Left and right, she scanned the grassy ground below her, searching for signs of that creature, but she spotted nothing. She let out a sigh of relief. After a while, she slowly came down from the tree. She felt a dark presence behind her. Her heart started to beat quickly. Her worst nightmare have come true! She quickly leaped forward before two large strong hands with black claws could grab her. The creature roared! A very loud monstrous roar. It charged at her,
Daemon was sitting peacefully on his throne when he received a tip off from the scouts about a spy or traitor trying to sabotage the peace in his territory. The scouts reported that the traitor was a spy from the human clan pretending to be a demon. They tracked that traitor to a village on the outskirts of The Capital. Having a deep hatred against humans, Daemon decided to find this traitor and interrogate him or her. And by interrogate, you know it's not going to be anything good. Not especially when you get on the nerves of the Demon Emperor. Daemon used the excuse of helping the poor villagers to improve their lives. He had to do so to avoid suspicions from the other demon lords within the Capital. Those lords were nothing but busybody and with ulterior motives. Plus, Daemon had another idea. He needs to help the villagers out of the drought. Although ruthless and wicked, he still needs to earn himself a good reputation if he wants the support of the people. On the outskirts of T
Mighell came running over shouting, "my lord! My lord! There's a bunch of reports from the commoners on your desk." Daemon nodded and headed to his office. "Who's the human girl?" Mighell had saw Daemon carried a human girl into HIS own sleeping chambers. He was curious as he had never seen his master personally carry a human. Daemon had a deep grudge against all humans. He would kill any human he sees but this one seems different. Daemon had took 'extra special' care not to kill her right away. Maybe it was something else his lord doesn't want to reveal yet. A new nasty plan or devious plot could be the answer. Mighell had noted to himself, that his lord (Daemon) had changed a lot since that day. Yes, that day five years ago after he was humiliated and played the fool by the other lords. Mighell almost didn't recognize his lord until Daemon address him by his full name - the name that only he knew. So much had passed since then and Mighell felt his best friend had fallen apart from
"You're quite bold and arrogant," Daemon said as he caressed her cheek in a threatening manner. Victoria angrily swiped his hand away, looking disgustingly at him. "To deal with you, I can be anything," she said confidently. Daemon chuckled. No one has ever said such defying words to him. This was going to be interesting. Victoria didn't liked how he's playing the fool with her. "Why did you catch me? I believed I have done no wrong against you," Victoria demanded. "Are you sure you haven't?" Daemon hinted at something. Something he thinks was done by her. "Done what?" "A spy. For the human race. For Valencia Luciano," Daemon said. This time he wasn't joking or teasing her. He was dead serious."A spy? For the human race?" Victoria couldn't believe what she was hearing. Heck, she didn't even know who Valencia Luciano is and yet she was kidnapped and accused for such things. "I don't even know who the hell Valencia Luciano is, how could I be a spy? Or even worked for the human ra
"Valencia Luciano?" The name sounded familiar but Felix couldn't quite remember where he'd heard it. It was a girl's name but yet it have such a dangerous aura to it. "Who's that?" Daemon turned around to look the young blonde in the eyes. "You've been in your position for such long time and you're telling me you don't know who's Valencia Luciano?" He couldn't believe his ears. Luciano was no child's play. She was ruthless, wicked and full of scheming tricks. Yeah, did I say it was a 'she'? That's right. Luciano was a woman. A woman of the human race to be exact and she's not like any ordinary human beings. "I swear I have never heard of such name. He sounds quite tough and muscular. Must be a real pain in the ass for you to remember his name," Felix said. His blue eyes blinked innocently. "Sure, a pain in the ass. But not as much as you," Daemon said hinting to Felix for being one. "Oh," was all Felix's reply to that. "And Luciano is a 'she'," he corrected him. "Not a he," "W
He then bit his tongue, committing suicide and died. His arms and legs fall limp and his head droop to his chest. She sighed having not one bit of remorse or pity in her. "He chooses to kill himself rather than reveal anything. " "My lady, what should we do now," a guard in black clad clothing asked. "Throw him out to feed the dogs!" She ordered. Her men gulped in fear. Dead or alive as long you're a Demon, she won't show you any mercy. Valencia tapped her chin thoughtful. This man, the Demon emperor has already pique her interest. He'll be her next target, the top of her list. "How's our little spy doing?" She turned to face the guard. "My lady, the spy reported that all is well. No one has found out about our plan," A vicious sly smile spread across her plush red lips. Her plan was working and it was only in a matter of time she'll get what she wants. Luciano pushed back her golden locks that covered her left eye. Ohhhh, how sweet was revenge! -----------She pushed open th
Victoria was dragged back to her room by the guards when they found out she escaped during dinner time. "Let me go! Let me go! You have no rights to restrain me here!" She struggled and kicked their metal armour but was ignored by the guards. The guards didn't want to have anything to do with her as their emperor - Daemon - had given the order; if anyone mistreats her, he'll suffer a pain worse than death. Only he can touch, torture, mistreat or kill her. The guards feared him. Just a gaze from him could send them down on their knees and shivers creeping down their spines. They have to put on their best behaviour around him. They tossed her into the room and was about to shut the doors shut when she quickly put herself in the doorway, blocking the knob. When Victoria found out that screaming and shouting was no use, she resorted to begging and pleading. "Please, please, I beg you. Let me go," she said pitifully with tears in her eyes. The guards felt sympathy for her but couldn't
The doctor walked out, approaching them with a grim look on his face. Although he wore a silver mask hiding the upper part of his face, Felix could still tell his emotions. "He's alive and well. But he's unconscious. He may fall into coma," the mysterious man behind the silver mask said emotionlessly. "Coma? What? For how long?" Felix asked. His face was full of worry. "Who knows. Ask her," he said and walked back into his room. Felix turned his attention to her. "I don't know. I just simply splashed whatever liquid in the bottle onto him.""Now," he sighed tiredly. "I can only pray that he's safe and sound," Felix clasped his hands together into a prayer. "I'm sorry," she blurted out. And she really was. But again, he just sighed. The awkward silence made her even more nervous and ashamed. Why, she wished someone would come and scold or even slapped her face for her deadly mistake. Then she would feel better. But no one did, so right now she felt like a little kid caught steal
He followed the sound and quietly hid behind a tree. He saw a man in his twenties clasping the sides of his head, seemingly in pain. Harvey knew that it was the result of successfully resisting and escaping the fog that actually protects the Dark Forest from any intruders. That fog was considered dangerous and deadly as it causes one to see his inner demons and deepest, darkest secrets a person would kept locked away in his heart - and those can cause a person to die. Die from his dark secrets, die from his sins, die in such a terrible way that inflects no injuries on the body. No one has even been able to break away from their inner demons. But this man was different, he managed to defeat his inner demons and escape from the fog. Or did he really? Harvey suspected. There was another way to break through the fog, the same way he himself did when he first encountered the fog. Till this day, Harvey had to admit, that he himself never gotten rid of let go of his hatred. That was his in
A man just a few years older than Victoria stood in front of her. She now understand why the maids and servants dropped to their knees - it was a sign of respect and greeting to this man who was staring straight into her eyes, demanding an answer from her. Felix heard from the maids' gossip that there was a mad woman running around, screaming and shouting for help. Since Daemon wasn't in to make decisions and orders, Felix was left to himself. When he arrived at the scene, he saw her. She stand out among everyone else with her fiery red hair and emerald green eyes. She looked like on the verge of breaking down. "I ......I....I...," She stuttered. She felt her tongue stiff. "I need help," she said in a low voice. Somewhere deep in her heart, she felt relief when she saw this man. Maybe he could save him. She could see hope shining in his eyes. He stood there, still staring at her. His fierce gaze meant business. "Please, help me. Someone's drying. He needs a doctor." "Where? Wh
She blinked back the tears from her sweet childhood memories. Her eyes were red as she dropped the sword to the ground beside him, letting it clatter loudly. "Where is he? What happened to him?! You know his name," she gasped. She squatted down to his level, clutching her dress tightly to contain her worries. Thoughts ran amok in her head. She feared the worst that her brother was either severely injured or half-dead. "He was here, three years ago," He said, his voice soft and low. "But he left afterwards. I knew, he was a human yet I befriended him," He paused. He had a nostalgic look in his blue eyes. "We were the best of friends," She found it hard to believe. Based on what she know about demons, they hate and want to kill every human they come across. Why, even that asshole Daemon said so himself. Between the human race and demon species, there was only war, hatred and bloodshed. Friendship was out of reach. "That's impossible!" She shook her head. Humans and demons are enemie
Harvey decided to take a stroll outside to help himself think better and to stretch his muscles. He didn't know what Jacinda was planning or what evil intentions she might have. And how did she know about his past? How in the world did she know what he had wanted, craved for many years? Could she read minds? No, he thought it impossible. She can't read minds. She's not Elijah. This woman was hard to guess and hard to read. Perhaps she had been doing or collecting information about him. What a scheming smart woman. He would have taken his hats off for her. The moment he set foot outside, a rush of fresh air hit his lungs with a pang. He didn't know he'd been inside his palace for so long that he forgotten the sweet scent of fresh air. He inhaled the sweet air, letting his shoulders lose, relaxing his body. The Dark Forest was the quietest forest to him. It wasn't far from his palace and hardly anyone passed through it. People had been scared off by its rumours of ghosts, man-eating
Daemon had unknowingly rode into the Dark Forest. And he didn't know what dangers are waiting for him up ahead. His black horse whinnied in fear as it started to panic. The forest was covered with an unusual thick fog that seems to circulate throughout the entire forest. He couldn't see anything nor take precautions. Silently, he hoped that Mighell was safe and sound. "What's wrong, boy?" He bent over to look the horse on the eye. He tried stroking it's fur to calm it down but to no avail. Something was spooking his horse and it was something he couldn't detect. The horse suddenly jerked, threatening to throw him off and it began to pick up speed, galloping faster and faster. "Whoa! Slow down, Salomon!" He shouted over the wind. "Slow down! What's wrong!?" But his horse didn't respond. It was acting weird. His horse had never been this way before. It had basically followed Daemon through his journey - his journey to who he is today. He heard a swoosh of wind coming from behind hi
Victoria wore the maid's clothes, tied the poor girl up and gagged her. She slipped out right under the Blue Marquis's nose and walked through the hall. She headed towards the pharmacy and turned the knob. It was open. Okayyy ..... To be honest, Victoria had no experience with medicine or poison. Just take whatever you can find and shove it down his throat! Her inner voice yelled at her. She was hesitating in the face of thousands of bottles. Unfortunately for her, she was unable to read the labels. They were in a foreign language. The room was big and wide. The smell of medicine and some other scents mixed together made the room stinked. She hates the smell. "Hey! Are you ready? What's taking so long in there!?" From out of pharmacy, in the hall, she heard the Blue Marquis called out towards the direction of the toilet. Oh dear! She better get out of here quickly in case he barge into the toilet. "Are you there!? Why are you so quiet!?" He called again with suspicious rising in
"Who are you? Why are you here? How did you get in!?"She felt the cold blade of the sword against her neck, threatening to take her life. She stood rooted to the ground, not daring to make any reckless move. Her life was on the line. Quick! She had to think of something! Something! "I'm his woman," she blurted out those words. Victoria realized what she had just said. Oh my damned mouth! She scolded herself silently. And what's more was that her fingers pointed to the portrait of him, that man who kidnapped and forced kissed her. Oh! She wanted to slap herself in the head. Why did she pointed to him!? What's wrong with her?The man looked at the portrait of Daemon , then back at her. "Very well then," he said removing his sword from her neck. "But you shouldn't be in here. This place is forbidden," "Oh, I didn't know," Victoria faked a surprised expression. She turned and got a good look at the man. He was dressed in blue. Blue overcoat, a slightly light blue shirt underneath, blu
Victoria was set free and the guards didn't even bothered to show her the door. How rude! She thought. "First, you kidnapped me here. Second, you made me sleep with a stranger! Third, you released me, realising it was mistake. And now you won't even show me the way out of this horrendous maze!" She grumbled under her breath. They had given her new clothes to wear, and much to her dislike, the dress revealed too much of her cleavage and shoulders, had long sleeves and frilly skirt that dragged on the floor. Her ample boobs looked like they could popped out any minute and she didn't like that feeling. All those hungry ravenous men's eyes would be on her. Although she looked grand, Victoria didn't like the style and design. It made it difficult for her to run or escape in times of emergency. She walked through a long hall with weird statues of distorted figures on each side. They were really terrible looking! With sharp teeth, extra arms, legs and tails, Victoria concluded that these w
