There was a deafening silence in the room and Amelia hated it very much.
She has never been the type to like being in uncomfortable spaces and this had to be the most uncomfortable she had ever been in her entire life. The look on everyone's face was almost as if they were all judging her mentally and they seemed to be waiting for her to say something very wrong for their sheer amusement.
The only people that had normal expressions on their faces were Lady Camille, Lord Fritz and Lord Lionel and when she says they had normal expressions on their faces, she means that they didn't look like they were about to devour her but that didn't mean they didn't look scary as well.
"Can somebody tell me what exactly we're all doing here? What is the real re
"Do you have any idea what you just did Lady Amelia? Do you even know the gravity of the words you just said in there?" Camille questioned an already confused Amelia.Camille had followed behind Amelia as soon as Amelia had dismissed the meeting and left the room. She couldn't understand how Amelia could be so foolish enough to fall into her uncle and his cohort's traps especially when it was so obvious that they were setting her up for failure."You need to be much clearer with me Lady Camille cause I have no idea what exactly you're talking about," Amelia said, genuinely confused as to why Camille sounded so upset with her."You have no idea what I'm talking about? Really kid? Listen Amelia, I tried very hard, very hard to make sure that you don't fall in
"You did what?" Adrian asked, with his eyes growing ten times wider than usual."I a... agreed to be a part of the blood moon festival as requested of me by Lord Nigel and the council members," Amelia replied nervously, hating the fact that they were all making her feel foolish for agreeing to be a part of it. First it was Lady Camille, then Lord Lionel and Lord Fritz and now Adrian was also wearing that look on his face that was only making her feel much worse than she already felt. She had come to realise that she probably made the worst mistake of her life by going into the meeting room in the first place and then, her second mistake was agreeing to what the council had asked her to do without confirming the consequences first and speaking to either Ryan or Adrian about it.
"What exactly do you mean by that Adrian? Why in the world would I be stoned to death? Lord Fritz did mention that I might have to kill someone but he didn't mention that I'll be stoned to death," Amelia said, wondering what exactly any of this even meant.First, she was told that she would have to kill someone in order to complete the ritual and now she was being told that she is probably going to get stoned to death if she participates in the ritual and after hearing all of this, she still did not quite understand why in the world both options were even an option in the first place."I understand what's going through your head Amelia but let me be much more clear. Lord Fritz wasn't wrong when he said you might have to kill someone but that rarely ever happens. Remember that I mentioned that children born on the da
"Stop following me around Camille, you're making me uncomfortable," Nigel hissed in frustration but Camille being the adamant person that she was, was determined to frustrate her uncle and get on his nerves today. "I'll only stop following you if you admit to me that you and the rest of the council are nothing but shameless old men who should be embarrassed by the fact that they are trying to deceive a young girl and make her into their scapegoat. I know you're a despicable person uncle but how could you people do that to a child? What were you even thinking uncle?" she reprimanded and Nigel frowned. "I don't understand what you mean by what you just said Camille. What exactly did I do wrong or what exactly did we do wrong by asking that our Luna or rather our soon-to-be Luna tp represent us at the festival that
Isabel watched as Amelia paced back and forth and at this point, she knew that she was going to pass out if she kept watching her move to and fro with her hands raking her hair and making a mess of it. She still did not understand very clearly what exactly was going on with Amelia since she had not properly explained to her and cleared up her confusion. She just knew that whatever was happening was something that was probably very serious judging by how worried Amelia looked."I don't mean to interrupt your thinking or anything like that sweetie but if you keep moving this much in front of me I'm going to end up puking because I feel so dizzy and irritated right now," Isabel said he was no longer able to hide the fact that she was getting uncomfortable with the pacing."I'm so sorry about that Isabel but at this mom
"Are we very sure that we're not digging our own graves thinking we're digging someone else's?" Benjamin wondered out loud to Ethan, who was the member he was closest with."We can never know for sure whose grave we're digging Benjamin and that is why we have to make sure that we do everything possible to make certain that our grave isn't what we are digging and that our objective ends up as a success. As scary and as risky as it is, if we really want to have our way, we need to be prepared for the absolute worst," Ethan responded calmly as himself and Benjamin waited for the rest of the council members to arrive to their meeting place. For Benjamin, Ethan's words were his own way of reassuring himself that he wasn't making a mistake by going along with their plan. He had become a member of the council at a much younger a
Amelia woke up with beads of sweat formed on her forehead. She kept panting heavily and was struggling hard to get back to her regular breathing pace. She looked around her bedroom not exactly sure what she was looking for but when she confirmed that there was no one else in the room besides herself, she let out a sigh of relief. She didn't remember exactly what had instilled this fear in her but for some reason, she couldn't help but be conscious about everything around her. Thankfully, she wasn't one to sleep in a dark room so she was able to see every corner of the room clearly and because of this she was a lot more confident about the fact that there was nobody in lurking in her room and that she was just waking up from a really terrible lie to me that happened to seem very real.
"Where's Ryan, Adrian?" Amelia asked as soon as she walked into Adrian's office. She didn't even bother to greet or anything like that since her only objective now was to get an answer from Adrian. She had earlier visited Ryan's bedroom and to her surprise, the room was actually locked and when she tried calling out for Ryan, she didn't get any response at all. At first, she thought that it wasn't anything too serious and that maybe he was in the basement room where he most definitely wouldn't hear her but then again, she recalled what she had heard the previous night and something told her that she had to question Adrian because something wasn't right."Excuse me?" Adrian responded with a confused look on his face. He most definitely didn't understand why she had suddenly barged in here with that look on her face a
