Vivian

I was almost a walking dead by the time Elizabeth finally let me stop doing all the strenuous work around the house that she could think of and that was because Axel finally came back from wherever it was that he had traveled to.

The day he came back, I had been in the kitchen cooking lunch for Elizabeth, and he had exploded once he saw me stirring the meat stock.

"What do you think you're doing here?" He shouted and I froze on the spot.

"I'm making lunch" I answered, not liking the way he was looking at me.

"What do you mean you're making lunch? Where are the workers?" He yelled, and I was quiet because I genuinely didn't have an answer to his question.

"Why are you quiet? I said, where are the workers?" He took a step closer to me and I countered it by taking a step back and just when I thought that he was going to do something as drastic as hitting me, Elizabeth's voice came through the door.

"Axel, you're back" she coed, her voice softer than I had ever heard it. "I didn't

Vivian.I was worried sick. What had the doctor seen that had caused such a commotion? What was wrong with the baby? Or me possibly.I wanted to go and look for him and asked him to tell me because curiosity was killing me. I managed to stay in my room for a long time but once it was getting dark, I couldn't wait any longer, so I forced my body to get up, and I made my way to the door. I really had to find out what was happening. After all, it was my baby even though it said on the contract that it was his, I was still the mother and I needed to know what was happening to my baby.I left the room and started on my way to Axel's room, which was just a few meters from mine and in no time I was in front of the room, but just as I raised my hand to knock, I heard someone make a noise inside, and it was unmistakable what the sound was. He was with someone in there. A woman because of the types of noises that I was hearing. I should have turned around and walked out immediately, but I stoo

Vivian.Did I really like him like that, or was it our mate bond that was acting up? I had a lot of reservations about the current situation, but it seemed like my heart didn't care about them because I noticed that if he was not near me for a specific amount of time per day, then it felt like my life was falling apart. It was a crazy feeling that I could not understand, and I needed someone to talk to about it, but there was no one I could talk to because I was all alone. While I was brushing my teeth in the bathroom one morning, I was feeling a bit lonely and missing the two family members i had left. As I instantly remembered that I knew where my grandma and sister lived because it was in the documents that Axel had given me earlier, an idea popped up. I had barely finished brushing my teeth before I rushed out of the bathroom to find the documents that contained the address. It didn’t take me long to find it, and I quickly found a pen and paper and copied out the address. All I ne

Vivian. My eyes felt like they were glued shut with hot glue when I tried to open them, but I was determined to know who had taken me, so I forced them open. The stinging sensation made me wish I had just kept them shut, but once the pain started to subside, I looked around and found myself in a dimly lit room, alone. It was obvious that I had been kidnapped, but by whom? Who would want to kidnap me when I had nothing to offer?I realized that I was alone in the room, and the rope used to tie my hands wasn't too tight, which meant I had a chance to escape. But before I could finish my thought, a door opened, and I made out the physique of a man standing there. He stood still for a moment before entering the room, and I found myself hugging myself tightly as he approached. What did he want with me? Was this some kind of human trafficking situation? Was I going to be sold to foreigners and taken in as one of their slaves? Because I had heard a lot about things like that happening, and

  • The Deal With Her Alpha   Chapter 12

Vivian’s POVEvery day was the same, just like in the mansion. But this time around, it was more horrible because the men kept hitting me without considering the fact that I was pregnant. They came into the room each day, asked me the same set of questions, and when I gave them the exact same answers or no reply at all because I could barely find the strength to speak, they ended up beating me up to a pulp. Every single day.I was already anticipating my death when they were at it again one day. The door suddenly burst open, and some men that I had never seen before barged in, charging towards us and dragging the men off me. I didn’t understand who the new men were, and I was barely even breathing to really care about who they were, but I knew who they were with at least when a familiar scent filled my nostrils. Axel. He was here to save me, and that was the last thing I remembered thinking about before I entered into the darkness called unconsciousness.Axel’s POVShe was unconscious

13Vivian's POVThe silence in the hospital room when Axel left was deafening. It was a tough decision for the doctor, but I already knew that he was going to do what Axel had told him to do because I had no money to continue catering for my bills. He looked at me one last time, remorse written all over his face before he left the room too.Now alone, I felt the tears filling my eyes, and I asked the same question that I always asked every time: "Why was I so unfortunate in life?" But as usual, I got no response. Still wallowing in my pain, the door opened, and this time it was two nurses who entered. One only nodded stiffly at me, and the other gave me an awkward smile before they started taking me off the drip that I was connected to. I was being discharged, and there was no two ways about it. I wanted to beg, scream, and cry out my eyes for them to have pity on me, but I did not even find the strength to do that because subconsciously I knew that it was just going to be a waste of

14Axel's POVI was pissed at everyone, but especially Vivian, my mate.Calling her my mate felt a bit strange, but no matter how weird I thought it was, whenever I was around her, there was always this force that just made me want to be close to her. But now she had gone and left the house, putting the baby and herself in danger. She should have just stayed indoors. I knew why I had asked her not to go anywhere. I had enemies everywhere, and she was an easy target if they ever got the chance. And she had presented them with the perfect opportunity by leaving the house to see her grandmother and sister. Why hadn't she just asked me if she could go? I would have figured out a way to take her to see them. But now she had run off, and I didn't know where she was. Luckily, I had an idea who had taken her, and I immediately alerted the guys. Soon, we were headed for the hideout of my most hated competitor. The place was in a whole different country, but it was only about a five-hour journe

  • The Deal With Her Alpha   Chapter 15

Axel's POVThroughout the journey back to the hospital, I hoped that she was going to forgive me for saying all that I had said to the doctor. I honestly didn't know what came over me. It was just that I wanted this baby badly and hearing that it was at the risk of dying, brought forth something in me that took away my sense of reasoning because if the baby was at risk and Vivian wasn't, the solution would be to simply get her pregnant again. I was actually supposed to have been glad that it was the baby and not her but here I was, going back to apologize for my insensitivity.I alighted from the car even before the driver could park well and ran into the office,"Where is she?" I asked the nurses and they both exchanged a glance at my sense of urgency. I looked around the hospital and without waiting for them to respond, I rushed into the room that she had been in but she was nowhere to be found. The bad was empty. I took a few seconds to take the empty room in and I hoped that the s

Vivian's POVI watched as the black cars drove off in the same pattern that I had seen them pass on their way back to the hospital. Had he come back to finish me off? I had quickly squeezed myself into a corner and even though it was very uncomfortable and caused me a lot of pain, I had to endure and even hold my breath for a long time when one of the bodyguards searched nearby. I had to make sure that I didn't make a sound so that I was not discovered.I had been hurt by Axel's words at the hospital. I mean, I knew that the baby was very important to him but I had not expected him to say that I was useless to him if the baby was at the risk of death, especially when I thought that we had started getting drawn to each other but now I just knew that I had been delusional to have thought that he had developed actual feelings for me.I took a deep breath immediately I saw the last car disappear. They were gone now but what was to become of me? Where was I going to go to? This was a new c

Vivian's POVThe next day, Sarah and I went to the bakery to see her friend. On the way, I couldn't stop admiring the city. It was bustling and busy but still somehow managed to look appealing. Immediately we stepped onto the street of the bakery, the smell of freshly baked bread and pastries travelled through the air and into my nostrils, making me hungry even though I had just eaten before stepping out of the house. I said a silent prayer to the goddess just before we stepped inside. I needed this job.Inside, the bakery was even better than outside as expected, it has a very beautiful feel to it and I just stood and took it all in. I could already imagine myself working here, surrounded by the delicious treats and smells."It's beautiful right?" Sarah smiled "Emily has done well with this space. Come on let's go find her" she said and I followed her as she headed to the back of the bakery, where a woman with an apron covered with flour greeted them. "Look who's making more treats

  • The Deal With Her Alpha   Chapter 23

Vivian’s POVA few days after the birth of the kids, life felt great, with Janice taking care of me and always bringing me food. She had explained to me how she had found me. Apparently, the group of women I had seen pointing at me while I walked home that afternoon, had seen a poster that Janice had made when she realized that I had gone missing and they informed her right away. She had already gotten news from someone else that had seen me on the streets so she was already in town when the women informed her and she came rushing. I wondered what would have happened if she had not come to look for me that night.I was so grateful but deep down I knew that I had to start thinking of a way I was going to handle my situation because things were not going to be like this forever. One afternoon, just as I had finished feeding the kids and putting them to sleep, the door opened and in came Janice,“Hey there my love” she greeted, setting the black bag she was carrying on a table “How are

  • The Deal With Her Alpha   Chapter 22

Vivian's POVThe contractions were not as bad as I expected and that was because it was only the beginning of my labor and in a normal circumstance, it would have been the perfect time for me to have started my journey to a hospital but that was not even a possibility because I had no money for a hospital. I looked around me, it was dark already so I just had to bear the contraction pain till dawn and maybe get a passerby to help me deliver the babies.I felt the tears well up in my eyes but closed it and tried to get some sleep. I would need the energy when it was time to push the kids out but it didn't take more than a few minutes before I felt a very sharp pain. This was not merely a contraction but a warning. I had tried to ignore the previous ones, hoping they would stop until dawn but now, I knew I couldn't deny it any longer. I was in full time labor.I felt my chest contract with panic as I looked around, it was dark and I was alone, there was no how I was going to find anyone

  • The Deal With Her Alpha   Chapter 21

Elizabeth's POVI blinked once to clear my eyes, opened them and then blinked again but the image before me remained and did not change. One minute I was paying for my groceries at the store's counter and the next minute, Vivian was standing right in front of me just very further away. Was I hallucinating? Cause I had taken a lot of alcohol before stepping out but a third blink of my eye revealed that I was not and she was indeed standing before me.The moment froze while our eyes met and the anger in me at her, for everything she had done before her disappearance and after especially Axel's behavior towards me, all came rushing to the surface and what more the fact that she was pregnant? I thought the news was that she lost the baby? But that was a lie obviously. I was going to kill her. I had to. I quickly signalled to my bodyguards and pointed to her "Get her" I commanded and I watched as she turned swiftly on her feet and dashed off. She was too fast considering that size of her s

  • The Deal With Her Alpha   Chapter 20

Vivian's POVGoing from my new house to the hospital was not much of a hassle because there was a bus stop right in front and the fare was not a lot at all. I was happy with my life. I was glowing, my stomach was growing. Everything was just perfect and I was reveling in it until one evening.I had just finished my shift and was heading back home. My plan had been to take the bus but since I hadn't properly exercised in a few days, I made a last minute decision to walk home. On my way, I stopped by at a small store to buy some fruits and just as I was making a turn towards the counter, I stopped dead in my tracks and held back a gasp because standing right there at the counter was someone I had not expected to ever see in my life ever again. Elizabeth. What was she doing here? Inside the store? In town and even in the country? Had she come to find me so she could finish me off herself since Axel failed in doing that by himself? The only thing my brain was screaming to me was to run b

  • The Deal With Her Alpha   Chapter 18

18Vivian's POVThe doctor was very patient with me until I finished crying and immediately I started to feel embarrassed,"I'm so sorry for going off like that" I apologized and she shook her head at me"Oh you don't need to apologize, it was necessary that you let all that feeling out" she smiled kindly and I gave her an awkward nod if my head. I took the time of the silence that followed to look around the room. It was a small space really and everything was well arranged except for the few specks of dust I noticed on the curtains and the little table at the far right corner of the room. Immediately a thought occurred to me. I could totally help them wash the curtains and clean up the tables as a cleaner or something and in exchange, they give me some money so I can cater for myself and my children when they were born."Doctor?" I looked at her and she smiled at me. I liked her already, she had this warm persona to her and it made me feel like I could ask for anything and not be sc
