"An explanation is in order."

Jeremy narrowed his eyes. His gaze was focused solely on Corinne, and he did not even bother to look at Sherlyn's shy expression. He stretched out his big hand, took the suitcase from Corinne, and handed it to Bowen, who stood beside him.

He then asked, "What's all this fuss about?"

As Jeremy asked that question, he placed his arms around Corinne's waist and pulled her into his arms, as if worried that she might leave for real.
