Chapter 2

In the ambulance on the way to the hospital, Tasya continues to cry over her husband who is lying rigidly under medical attention.

"Honey, please open your eyes, our baby will be born soon. Please don't leave me alone." Said Tasya weakly beside Michael's ear.

"Brother you must be strong, I will save you. Please stay alive. Your baby will be born." Melody tries her best to provide first aid to her brother, she presses the point of blood flow from the wound on Michael's chest that was hit.

"I beg you to save your brother and my husband, don't let him go away from this world, I beg you Melody."

"Sure sis, I'll save my brother, you have to keep praying." Melody said, convincing Tasya to stay calm.

On the other hand, in the Range Rover that followed the ambulance, Miska calmed Almira, who was crying hysterically.

"Mom, please calm down, we must be strong so that Michael's brother is also strong, don't show sadness when he realizes." Said Miska trying to calm his mother.

"How if your brother is not aware of Miska, Mom can't afford it if your brother leaves." Almira gripped Miska's hand tightly.

While her father sat in the front seat beside her uncle who was driving the car, Benny Abraham Syalendra was just staring at the road. Miska knew that her father was as shocked as all of them. 

“I'll try to find out who dared to shoot brother, Mom, take it easy. I'm not going to let that criminal run around, I'm going to throw him in prison. “ Miska's mind was remembering the incident that took their happiness as fast as lightning, she wondered how the figure of the man she had seen earlier in the garden was.

Meanwhile Ardi saw Miska from the rearview mirror of his car.

When the ambulance arrives at the hospital, Michael is transferred to the gurney, all the nurses on duty running to the emergency room while Melody heads to the operating room.

Walking back and forth in the hospital corridor waiting for assurance of Michael's safety, everyone seemed anxious waiting for news to be conveyed by the doctor.

The operating room indicator lights went out indicating the operation was over, not long after the doctors who handled Michael came out of the operating room.

Almira hurriedly got up from the chair and approached the doctor. 

"Doc, how is my son, Michael okay? Can you take out the bullet's doc? " Almira attacked without pause, shaking the hand of one of the doctors who handled Michael.

"Sorry ma’am, we can't help Michael because she had run out of blood on his way to the hospital and the bullet hit his heart so it's very difficult to help Michael to stay alive, once again we are all so sorry." Simultaneously the two doctors bowed respectfully to the entire Syailendra family.

“There's no way… my brother is still alive, there's no way he's not. Melody is still there right? She must be trying to wake up Michael's  I'm sure of that. " With a trembling voice, Miska bowed weakly on the marble floor of the hospital, her knees were unable to support her body at this time.

"Sorry sir, ma'am, we all beg to say goodbye." The two doctors and nurses excused themselves as the gurney, supporting Michael on top of him, was led into the morgue. Syailendra's family has asked the police to investigate the shooting case.

"Michael wakes up I am your wife, our baby will be born. I beg you to accompany me here, don't go Michael please open your eyes." Tasya screams following the nurse who will lead Michael to the morgue.

All families forbade Tasya to enter the morgue because she was pregnant, while Almira was taken by a nurse because she fell unconscious. Miska was still silent on the floor crying over the situation, she felt someone caressing her shoulder, looking up she found her sister Melody's beaded with blood on her surgical clothes.

"Melody tell me what happened, why did you go Michael, why didn't you save him why?" Miska hit her sister's shoulder weakly she was not strong enough to let out her anger.

"Sorry sis, I can't take care of brother Michael, I have failed everything because of me  brother Michael left, I'm sorry." Melody burst into tears, she had been holding back her tears so as not to come out, but she couldn't help it.

The two of them drifted into each other's arms, while the rest of the family wept in the hospital hallway crying over Michael's departure.

One day after the departure of Michael the police investigate Michael's shooting case, Michael's body has been buried after the autopsy process, all done quickly so that Michael's body does not rot.

"Sir, I want the perpetrator to be caught quickly." Miska said to the police who were checking the crime scene.

Meanwhile, in the family room, all the extended families have gathered to discuss who will be the next leader of the Syailendra Company.

"Okay, I guess we'll start now, because I don't have much time." Complained Ardi looking at the clock in his hand.

"Wait a minute Miska and Melody are not here yet, we have to wait for them." Sarah argued, the oldest woman in the Syailendra family.

"We're here Grandma, sorry for waiting." Said Melody as she and Miska entered the family room.

"Okay everyone has gathered, Michael has left us all. We cannot leave the company without someone in charge, Benny cannot lead Syailendra Company again because he is still having a stroke. " Sarah said, opening the topic of conversation, she looked at all the people who were in the room.

"Then you want to propose who will be the leader, if you choose me I don't mind. I can manage two companies at once. " Ardi said by adjusting the position of his jacket.

"No, you already know the answer, the leader of the Syailendra Company must be the first heir and that's not you Ardi." Mira answered, confirming her glasses.

"Then who do you want to appoint? Melody? Come on she's a doctor there's no way she's in a company this big. " Ardi said, pointing to Melody.

"Miska, I think you are the most appropriate to replace your brother Michael." Sarah said while drinking tea.

“What… are you kidding me, right? Miska can't possibly lead the company, she doesn't have any experience at all. " Ardi stood pointing at Miska.

“You can do it, Miska? Grandma believes in you. " Sarah said to Miska, stroking her grandson's head.

"It's true uncle said Grandma. I have no experience at all." Miska looked down and twisted the hem of her shirt.

"It's not a pity that grandma believes in your abilities, this family has full hopes for you." Sarah looked into her granddaughter's eyes for strength.

“Come on mom, she can only waddle on the catwalk. What would happen to the company if she held it. " Ardi began to feel emotional because he was not given the trust to lead his family company.

"Shut up Ardi, mother trusts Miska more than you." Sarah said, she was really disgusted by her stepson. Ardi is not her flesh and blood, she is the son of her husband's affair who has become a second wife. Her husband and Ardi's mother had an accident ten years ago which resulted in the two people dying on the spot.

"Is it because I'm not your son? Mother is always like this never entrusting my abilities, I'm sick of all this. " Ardi leaves passing from the family room leaving everyone behind.

After thinking hard, Miska finally accepted to lead the Syailendra Company, even though she had no experience at all, but she could learn from the beginning. Her father has a lot of books, she can learn from there.
