AURORA
My ears had been working for the past three hours that I should’ve been sleeping. The packhouse was silent and I was certain that no one was awake. The occasional movement of Sigmas was gone. I couldn’t hear the bitter muttering of maids on their nightly duties. Neither did I see or smell a sign of mom and dad.But it was unlikely they’d come to check on me. A part of me wished they would… I pushed that thought aside.Though I’ve done this many times, I won’t lower my guard and forget to maintain caution. My senses were always on alert. I’ve never been caught and I want to keep it that way.Quickly, I climbed out of my bed and bent under it, pulling out the gorgeous new violet dress Kyle had gotten me. It was my favorite designer and exactly what I wanted. I can’t think of a better boyfriend than Kyle.I’m just waiting for the moon goddess to do her thing and mate us already. I slid the dress on and admired my curves in the mirror. I’m glad I got mom’s hourglass shape, boobs, and backside… my feminine features were hers but typically everything else was dad's. It was the perfect ratio of her beauty and his hotness.I oiled my curly cinnamon hair and checked if my cerulean eyes were as bright as ever.‘How long are we gonna be there?’ Evolet, my wolf, asked.‘For as long as we have to.’‘Oh gosh, Arie, you’re gonna get caught this time. I’m telling you.’‘Don’t be a party pooper, Ev. We’re making a video today and I won’t be missing it because of your cowardice.’‘Cowardice?! I’m anything but a coward. I’m just looking out for you since you won’t look out for stupid self.’‘Please stop sounding like Hilda.'‘And that’s because Hilda is smart. You’re being foolish, as always.’I blocked her off. Evolet’s always like this. Nothing bad has ever happened when I sneak out. She’s just being a usual prick.Looking out the window, I saw the garden below. The packhouse had expanded since the first time we came here. The garden was a big beautiful section of land swimming in sunflowers, roses, lilies, and my favorite, violets! To show you just how big it is, we even had a few growing apple trees.I looked away from the garden and appreciated how dark it was outside. Evolet’s dark purple fur would easily blend into the night but unfortunately, she was the last wolf that would help me.Clearing my mind, I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, waving my hands around in a continuous ball. A chilling sensation came down me and I sensed it coming, opening my eyes, I discovered that I had gathered enough water for my escape.I thanked the goddess for my elemental powers and I’m glad it was water. I went closer to the window and with a slide of my upper hand, the water poured down and expanded. Before it reached the floor, I froze it, and a sturdy slide made of ice formed from the very tip of my window to the ground below.Taking everything else I needed with me, I got on the slide and headed for the club.~~~The club music boomed and it was louder tonight. The stench of alcohol and flesh was rampant and from every angle, you could see the flashing colorful lights that gave life to the club—apart from the non-stop music and vibrant dancing of course.Alexa, my first bestie, and Nicole, my second bestie, were the owners of this idea but Kyle, my boyfriend, was funding it. He got the filming equipment, the private room in the VIP section of the club, and this beautiful easy-to-pull-off dress.Kyle is the youngest son of Alpha Gabriel of the Rockhill pack. The Alpha has more sons than anyone should—and one daughter—but Kyle gets all the good stuff being his father’s favorite. I wonder how it feels to be a parent’s favorite. Anyway, Rockhill and Moonstone are partners so that’s a bonus.I left the main area and went to the first floor where the magic would happen. Recollecting the door number, I placed my hand on the handle and opened it smoothly. Taking not more than a step inside, I searched for a sign of Alexa, Nicole, Kyle, and any camera equipment. Nothing.I went deeper in and a familiar hand grabbed me by the shoulder and slammed me to the wall.“Oh my,” I exclaimed, feasting my eyes on a sexy half-naked wolf that towered over me easily.I admired the beauty of his nakedness and his delicious honey-blonde hair. Goddess… every inch of him looks delicious tonight.“Missed me?”“Hmm,” my teeth ground my lips while I placed my finger on his rigid chin.As effortless as it was to put it on, Kyle pulled the dress off me and pushed me harder into the wall, causing my ass to squeeze against it. “Action,” he announced, his gleaming eyes on everywhere but my face.He held my neck, his fingers tracing to my back to unclip my bra as he took my scent in. I felt his hard dick against my skin and reached my hand out for it, rubbing my thumb through the thin clothing. In the rising passion, kissing deeply, I had forgotten that Alexa and Nicole were somewhere in this room, recording the action while our bodies ground against each other. But… something made me pull back. I sensed the presence before I felt it and Kyle was confused for a second, as to why I stopped, but everyone in the room soon understood why. The door flung out of the hinges and hit the wall at the other end of the room.I heard the gasps of a shocked Alexa and terrified Nicole. Kyle’s face burned with fury as the silhouette of a man formed in the dark corridors, right outside our very room. The moment he took a step in, his dangerously powerful aura gushed into the room and my throat squeezed into a tight knot. This was no ordinary wolf. No ordinary Alpha. This man was evil itself, a non-understandable evil. That could be the only explanation for his… aura… and we were in serious trouble.FOUR YEARS EARLIER...KATRINA“You can’t take her away! She’s my daughter!”I had only heard stories of the Alpha who drinks the blood of his defeated enemies. An Alpha who kills for fun and strikes terror when it’s his godforsaken birthday. An Alpha who’s slayed every girl he’s ever laid with. An Alpha who singlehandedly raised his pack from the ashes of conquest to victory. The one wolf territories have known for his blackness. The one that every living wolf today calls… The Dark Alpha. After my encounter with the Alpha Triplets, I thought I’d never meet a worse wolf. Another more evil and wicked but I was wrong. I’ve always been.Kane’s hold on me was firm and he was the only thing standing in the way of me tearing someone apart. The sun that had once been shining disappeared the second this abomination stepped into our pack.He wore a black hoodie that kept his face in the shadows. Only his nose and lips that had been pierced in gold were shimmering. There was a smug smirk on his w
AURORA Everyone could see and feel the darkness getting closer. Kyle was burning in rage, clutching my lap, while Alexa and Nicole held each other tightly, guarded by the filming equipment as they tried so desperately to be one with the wall.Kyle’s anger got the best of him. He left my side and headed for the Alpha while I slowly backed away, prepared to use my powers when the need arises. I was oblivious to my half-nakedness because the dark aura that made Alexa and Nicole terrified, forced me to relive my worst nightmares.“How dare you barge in here?! Who are you?! What is your business here?! Do you know who I am?”The man wore a black hoodie and I couldn’t see his face in the darkness but there was something about him—apart from the darkness—that made my heart race and my mind freeze. When his head shifted, I felt his eyes on me and I staggered back, keeping myself on my feet. The wolf began to walk in and I heard Alexa and Nicole whimper.“You have some audacity to still keep m
AURORAIt’s been a terrible week… horrible. Since I refused to talk to mom and dad, I made a group call with my friends to tell them what happened. Turns out that when the stranger left their sides and came to me, Kyle woke up and ran away with the girls.I thought they would’ve sent someone to help. But they didn’t, then something must have happened… right but I was shocked when they straight up told me they never wanted to see me again.Kyle broke up with me that instant and the girls said I was a bad omen and would bring trouble to them—or some shit like that. I had to cut the call and block their numbers because I couldn’t stand their hurtful words.Kyle’s been with me for two years and they’ve been my friends for more. I was heartbroken when they did that but I refused to shed a tear. Warriors… don’t… cry.I felt like I had no one else in the world and Evolet wasn’t very helpful either. She wouldn’t stop talking about how I should have listened to her and it’s the most annoying th
KATRINA“I don’t believe you right now,” I sighed, relaxing back on the neck rest that protected me from what I was having my hair washed in. As luck would have it, Kane was free enough to take it up from the maid… He was just rinsing the soap off but the brilliant movement of his fingers on my scalp was extremely distracting. “I tried to tell them. I really did but Aurora… where did you learn to wash hair like this and why are you just doing this?”He smirked.I was just in a satin underdress and he had no more than a towel over his waist. The only thing missing was he in my front, letting me feast my eyes on his drool-worthy body. I wished I had more than one of him.‘I can’t believe I just said that.’‘You’ve always had a bad mouth.’I was too busy melting under his touch to realize that Kane was reaching for me. His lips found mine and I had a spicy taste of his succulent passion—the only thing I can never get tired of. It felt like hours before we let go and he started washing ag
AURORAI held the map higher, hoping it would catch some sunlight. The thick dense forest was bent on obstructing all sunshine and that didn’t help my situation. My eyesight in the darkness isn’t so great if compared to wolf standards. It would’ve been fine if I were a human but I’m not and I cannot see incredibly well in pitch-blackness as other wolves can. It’s the price I had to pay for my elemental powers but I’m not the only one who paid it.Dash doesn’t have super hearing and Hilda doesn’t have super strength. But I don’t regret it. What’s super-sight compared to waterpowers? I can solidify, jellify, dry up, heat up, and control water movement. I’m a water goddess!Evolet scoffed.Evening was drawing near but the sun was still shining. I found a patch where light was seeping through and placed the map under it. I would have preferred my phone’s GPS but wolf territories aren’t even on the world map. Serena meowed loudly and I hushed her up. “You’re the one who wanted to come. Yo
AURORA This wolf who had the rogue woman’s head in his hands remained motionless—and so did the rogues—for what felt like thousands of hours. I didn’t want to believe that he was who I thought he was—someone I had met not so long ago—but my heart was racing and Evolet was stuttering… stuttering words I didn’t want to hear because I didn’t like what they spelled out.My heart stopped when he growled and tossed the head away. I could see his hundreds of shifted Sigmas behind him, ready to attack on a single letter of his command. The rogues began to growl themselves, pouring saliva from their mouths.Slowly, they left my side and placed their attention on the new wolf, creeping up to him at the slowest pace that wouldn’t cause an instant Alpha. The Alpha raised a hand and his Sigmas took not more than a step back. That rogues didn’t like they liked the gesture very much because they growled louder. His hoodie fell back and before I could catch a gl
AURORA I was rather looking down than up…I sighed in relief. An old lady covered in orange from head to toe had stepped into the room, raising an eyebrow at me. She was neat but equally untidy when it came to her hair. Her grey eyebrows were bushy and so was her short hair.I was not ready to face my mate after just discovering that he was Adrian Storm. The Adrian Storm. I don’t think I can ever recover from that.“Were you expecting someone, ma’am?”The she-wolf wasn’t lucky with height—she was almost a dwarf—and she wore a matching orange cloche hat with a carrot-colored ribbon tied around it. Her chocolate brown eyes appeared to be smiling and her greying hair was as short as her. She wouldn’t look very fat if she had some more height and there was a weird-looking bracelet in her hands. I had seen it before but couldn’t recollect where or what it was.“I’m just eighteen. I’m not a ma’am.”“Sassy, aren’t you?”She opened the door wider as if gesturing for me to come out and follow
ADRIANI despise sunglasses, can hardly stand them. The only thing I despise more than sunglasses is how wolves stare at my eyes… like they’ve never seen anything like it. Angering thing is that some staff do that shit. I’ve gotten tired of firing them.My wolf snickered. ‘That’s simply because they haven’t. Ever seen another wolf with orange eyes?’ Fox said in his slick I-could-care-less voice. He was the last thing I wanted to talk to.‘How many times have I told you never to snicker and disturb my thoughts?’‘If I never disturbed your thoughts then I’d never get to talk. Your brain’s in constant mayhem.’ I kept quiet, hoping he’d shut it. ‘And…’ Fuck. ‘You seem to be forgetting that you aren’t my Alpha. I’m practically inside you so your threats mean nothing to me. And…’ He cut in, knowing I wanted to say something. ‘…you can block me off for all I care. Talking to you is one of the most degrading things I have to put up with daily.’ G
KATRINAI leaned on the door, checking my surroundings for anyone around because a Luna eavesdropping on her own Alpha was not the kind of news I wanted to be spreading in the packhouse for the jobless busybodies to be gossiping about.Checking to see if his door was unlocked, I opened it by a soundless crack and set my eyes on him, the most handsome man I’ve ever met, sitting with his back faced to me on a chair similar to one from his office, and a table laid in front of him like a gift from the gods. The reading room was not very different from his office, he didn’t have a lot of style—I could confirm that—but there were custom-made shelves of books stacked over each other in this god of a room. The Alpha uses every free time he gets to read, and the only thing that’s hotter than watching Kane reading was staring at him lovingly, when he was over me, with that dark, insane, animalistic look in his eyes as he was about to… When was the last time we even made love? The heartache of
AURORA“Mom went too hard on the code. She was meant to make it impossible for everyone but me! Dang it!”I admired the space we all dropped in when we first came down and thought it had to be the best part of the mansion because it looked like somewhere you would travel to in a good dream. It was a large roomy area that looked like an apartment, the lights were so bright that you would’ve had a problem differentiating day from night, and in this case, it was already pitch dark outside. The cream-tiled floor caught my eye first with interesting and innovative designs that made me think of walking on the ground and the large equally tiled walls of matching grace drive you to reminisce of the sun. If it was a bit cooler in here, I would rethink returning to the surface—it’s not like anything better is happening up there—but I still didn’t understand how this was a mansion. It’s just a… looks like I was wrong because the best and better parts were yet to come. There were MORE floors and
AURORAAdrian wouldn’t stop reading the letter. He’s been devouring it. I needed to know what was in it. I had to because, without me, we may have never even found the golden statue. We didn’t know where we would end up so letters were secured in the mouths of all the Silverclaw emergency mailboxes. They have that on every mountain both in and out of their territory, they are protected under The Dark Alpha's law. I thought it was a smart move, for unfortunate emergencies like this. I wished we were able to leave messages for them too, tell them we were safe but I think the empty mail post is enough proof of that. But making the eagle statues gold wasn't the smartest choice since it attracted the kind of people that they didn't want near it. Is he trying to show off?Adrian loses points for that. If it wasn't him who designed it then, I was sure it would be Dylan. That crook. Gosh, I can't believe I miss him. I missed all of them. I missed the packhouse too and I missed my motherly
ADRIANThose words echoed twice in my head before I mustered the strength needed to pull myself away from the enchantment Aurora’s lips had me in, a trap that I’d happily stepped into and didn’t regret because it had been so long since I had a taste of my mate’s addicting lips. She backed away from me as soon as I let her go, glaring like she’d kill me, before walking out of my sight and heading to whatever thing she’d seen that made her declare we weren’t alone. Those were dangerous words to say on this mountain and whatever she’d seen could not be good.‘She’s going too far away, boss.’Fucking Fox, at least he was saying something meaningful for once. “Aurora,” I warned, turning around to grab her by hand, glad that she had not gone too far away because I wanted her glued to me every second of the day, and held her still…. I couldn’t lose her again. I’ve already taken too many chances.“Let me go, Adrian.”This beautiful, sexy nightmare would be the end of me. “Don’t expect to sur
AURORASnow, snow, snow… in every freaking place. I was sick of it. Why couldn’t we have landed on the better side of the mountain? ‘And what makes you think this isn’t the better mountain?’ Goddess, not Evolet drilling me with questions now.‘Have you seen our luck, Ev? Have you seen how bad things are? I’m a hundred percent sure we’re in the worst place possible on this unbearable hump of snow.’We packed the tent as soon as the night died out and set off for the letter we were meant to find. I had wanted us to go as soon as he brought it up but he said I was tired and needed rest. Like he knew what I wanted! How many times do I have to remind him that he doesn’t own my body and can’t tell me what to do?‘Forever, because it doesn’t look like he’ll ever listen.’I hissed, clutching my frozen fingers. ‘Not another word from you, Ev.’ I couldn’t sound any angrier than that.He made sure I ate but didn’t bother eating himself—what a hypocrite—and when I told him to at least grab one o
So sorry guys for bailing on you. Delaying this for so long was NOT part of the plan and I really missed my way. ಥ_ಥ It will be unfair to keep you amazing people waiting another month so I can gladly say that the break is officially OVER and I'll start publishing chapters as soon as they are done, so be expecting them. We can finally continue Aurora and Adrian's story!Thank you to everyone who hasn't lost hope and is still with us on this journey. I've forgotten how much I've missed writing this book but I'm back ᕦ(ಠ_ಠ)ᕤ Hope we can get back on track! And I saw each of your comments, you guys have every right to be mad at me ⊙﹏⊙ I don't abandon books (that's not in my code) so let's finish what we started...
AURORAMy body and senses shut down as we prepared ourselves for what would be a devastating car crash. I promised myself that if I survived this, I was never entering a car again. The first time I was in one, we almost exploded along with it—you know how the story goes after—and the second time, well… we’re about to fucking crash!I covered my head with my arms and awaited the impact, a scream ready to be torn out of my throat, bones prepared to break, heads set to crack, metal waiting to dismantle, fire about to lit up…Just waiting for all that havoc to wreak on us but… the collision never came. My body jerked out of my nightmare as my eyes popped open, and my breathing escalated when I tried to look around me. There wasn’t much I could see except for the blinding blue sky so I tried to turn my neck but the pain made me feel like the nightmare wasn’t so bad after all. With difficulty, I pulled my heavy right hand up and trie
AURORAAdrian didn’t give two shits about the creature in front of us that was emitting nightmarish screeches because he only made the car move faster and drove us right into it. I screamed when it sent the thing over the car, its screech still scarily audible even with how swiftly we were moving. My body jerked back when Adrian pressed down the accelerator like our lives depended on it—our lives actually depend on it—sending us faster than we were anything should ever be able to move. It felt like my face was going to peel off and I was going to fly out but the seatbelt kept me in check, and Adrian continued rushing us down the dirt path with those... things... behind us.'Since there is a lot of fucking things I don't know, can you please start with... WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?!'Seven more of those things were chasing us… and gaining speed. And I wasn't sure if I was hallucinating, but those things appeared organized... like they were p
KATRINA“Ice cream, calm down, you’re not making any sense.”'I can't say I don't agree.''Shut up, Mel.'I had called an impromptu meeting and gathered everyone that mattered here because it turns out that Hilda must have gotten her genius genes from me since I was able to unlock a discovery of my own.I’d spent nights trying to solve it, hoping to find the missing link—that Edward Ryerson couldn’t before he died—in his book, and if the man were alive now, I’d give him a gold medal because he’s given me the solution to everything and as much as it was holding me together, it was also tearing me apart.Everyone here was expecting me to start with the reveal of the blank page of the Book of the Undead—which was extraordinarily useful—but I had to chip this in first... and though I didn’t believe I was saying half of the things I was now, if it was going to help me find my kids, then fuck beliefs and fuck sanity.I growled at Kane and he raised a cautious brow. “Tell me to calm down agai
