Chapter Seventy one

Alpha Orion's pov

Later that day, I found myself wandering through

the palace grounds, my thoughts still consumed by the mystery of Anita and Darius. The palace was a hive of activity, with pack members bustling about, preparing for the potential threat from the Redmoon Pack. But despite the flurry of activity, my mind remained fixated on Anita.

As I rounded a corner, I caught sight of her in the distance. She was in the courtyard, sweeping the stone path with a worn broom, her movements slow and methodical. But she wasn’t alone. Darius was there with her, his shirt sleeves rolled up as he helped her with the chores.

I felt a pang of jealousy flare up in my chest, hot and sharp. What was he doing here? Why was he helping her? I watched as they worked side by side, their heads bent close together as they spoke in low voices. They seemed comfortable with each other, too comfortable for my liking.
