KHALID’S POV.
I looked at Megan who had fainted and smiled bitterly. Looking back at the vampire who was the cause of this my eyes turned red from anger. He was successful in provoking me so I wasn't going to let him go so easily.I was already too late as he had sucked Magna's blood before I arrived. It was all my fault. If I hadn't treated her so badly which forced her to run out of my office this wouldn't haven't seen happen. If only I was a bit nicer to her, then she would have fallen prey to this vampire.I could only blame myself for what had happened. I had forgotten that it was going to be a full moon tonight. It wasn't until I looked outside through the window at the office that I realized. Then, searched around the office only to notice that Megan was gone.It was then I remembered she had run out.I had no choice but to follow her scent which led me to this place. The vampire who had kidnapped Megan was quite skilled and had almost erased her scent.I sighed and forcefully pushed away these thoughts, since it was my fault in the first place I could only try to rectify my mistake.Looking up, I saw the vampire trying to go back to sucking Magna's blood."How dare he?!!" I muttered angrily under my breath and appeared before him.I grabbed him and flung him away."Huh!!"I heard him grunt but that wasn't all, I was going to make him miserable for what he had done. Before he could react, I appeared before him, grabbing him by the neck and flung him away once again. Before he could land, I appeared before him and punched his stomach which sent him flying even further."Gruu!!!"He coughed out blood immediately after he hit one of the trees in the surrounding area."Don't worry I'll be back!!" He yelled standing up and disappearing before I could do anything.I was sure he knew it was unwise to fight me at the moment so just let him be as he was just a punny vampire who did not affect me.I walked back to Megan who was unconscious. From the tranquil look on her face, I would have thought that she was dead if not for the gentle beating of her heart.Carrying her in a bridal style, I disappeared.I had to take her back for treatment or else she might not survive it. She was bitten by a vampire.-----"Get the Physician!!" I yelled at the maids bowing to me."Yes, Alpha!" They bowed nervously and hurried to get the Physician.I had hurried back to the pack and the sight of the maids bowing to me irked me as they couldn't read the atmosphere. For heaven's sake, this wasn't the time for their respects. I didn't need it.I dashed forward to my chamber and placed Meagan on the bed. Her face had already become pale and I could feel her body going cold."Where the hell is he?"I cursed under my breath, pacing around the room anxiously."What the hell is taking him so long?!!"I was feeling impatient as each second passed by as I could feel Megan's life force weakening with each second. Her face was becoming paler and her body was becoming even colder. It wouldn't be long before She crosses the bridge between life and death.Suddenly the door of my chamber opened. An old man with wrinkles on his face rushed into the room.Behind him were some maids in white attire. I could care less about what they were wearing. All I needed was for them to pull Megan out of death's jaws."Please, excuse us, Alpha." The old man with wrinkles smiled bowing at me.I frowned looking at him and wanted to say something, but in the end, I didn't say anything and just walked out of the room.I was placing all my trust in him to bring Megan back to life. She couldn't die just yet.It was all my fault this had happened. If only I was a bit nicer to her then she wouldn't have fallen prey to those vampires.Well, it wasn't completely my fault as I was just trying to protect myself.Even though I had always pretended not to be attracted to her, in truth, I was always fantasizing about her.But then, I had to keep her at arm's length to protect her. My ice-cold face had always been to make her stop all her advances. But who would have thought that it wasn't going to make her stop but even increase, I had no choice but to start treating her badly, saying harsh words to her and making her work overtime. But all these didn't stop her from trying to approach me. Instead, it seems like I had paved the way for her.I had to suppress my urges when I was with her as nothing ever lasted with me.She was going to die once I decided to make her mine, to prevent an innocent soul from dying I had to put a stop to her advances. But who would have thought it would lead to what I was the most scared of?I had been attracted to her ever since I set my eyes on her, but to prevent what was happening I stayed away from her.But then it seems like the moon goddess wasn't going to let me off easily and still was going to cause her to die.I couldn't bear to see her die, at this moment, I realized how much of a fool I was.I should have already accepted her in the first place. But then I didn't know the future. If I had known this was going to happen, I wouldn't have rejected her and maybe this wouldn't have happened. She had to survive, she couldn't give in to the allure of death no matter what.I paced in front of the chamber waiting for the physician to come out.It had been over two hours and he was yet to come out. I wondered what the hell he was doing. At the moment I hated myself more than anything else. I just had to make sure she didn't die as I would be killing another innocent soul.Since the beginning of time, all those I had tried to love ended up dying and their numbers were in no way small.Suddenly, the door of my chamber opened and the physician came out sweating. His assistants were helping him wipe away his sweat. I frowned and walked towards him hurriedly."How's it?""Sigh!!"The physician sighed as he looked at meWhat the hell, I hope what he wanted to say wasn't going to be bad news."I'm sorry Alpha, but she's not responding to any of the treatment given to her."My eyes opened wide in shock and I looked at the physician. What the hell is he saying? What did he mean by she wasn't responding to any treatment?I rushed into the chamber to have a look at Megan only to see that her face had become even paler and her body was even colder. What the hell was happening? How did the situation become like this?Something must have happened, she was bitten by a vampire who I was sure had no high rank and yet it had caused such an adverse reaction.Something was wrong. I turned around to look at the physician who was standing behind me.He had sent his assistants away and had closed the door of the chamber. It seems like he wanted to tell me something he felt others couldn't hear."What do you think is wrong?" I sighed looking at the unconscious Megan whose face was getting paler by the second."I'm not sure, but I don't think she's a human." The physician replied, staring at Megan.I didn’t even listen to him as my mind was just clouded with the thoughts of her waking up."Is there any possible way to make her wake up?""Yeah!"*What's it?""Mate with her!!""Huh..." I paused, seemingly not to have heard the last sentence well, "what did you just say?""Mate with her and she'll wake up."I glanced at the old physician hoping for him to say he was joking, but the serious look on his face made me know otherwise."Any other method?""No!""Is that the only way?""Yes!!!""What if I refuse?" I frowned looking at the physician."It's your choice." The physician sighed, "But I must say this, she'll die and you'll lose your chance to have a mate and also heal the strange sickness disturbing the pack."I froze when I heard the physician's words. Just like I had expected, he had already noticed she was my mate even though I had known all along.I was just afraid of her death and was sure those damned elders wouldn't be in support of bringing back a human. But hearing what the physician said made me understand that I was wrong all along."It's up to you to decide my Alpha. I'll be taking my leave." The physician bowed and retreated leaving me dumbfounded.KHALID’S POV"So what do you think I should do?" I sighed looking at the elders of the pack who had a rather solemn look on their faces after I finished narrating all that the physician said.I could remember the words of the physician clearly as anything. "You don't have much time to decide. You have only two days to decide your fate and the pack's fate.""What's going to happen if I fail to decide in two days?""I can't say anything about that as it's only the moon goddess that knows. But bear in mind, you'll be cursed forever and no one will be able to break the curse."I cringed when I remembered those words. I was sure the head physician was trying to scare me. Rather he was telling the truth. But still, I couldn't just decide on a whim and had to talk to the elders.Right at that moment, the elders had serious expressions on their faces and I could tell they were worried. But the fact was that they weren't as worried as I was.If I failed to decide in two days I was going to be
MEGAN’S POV. "Mmmm."I muttered as my eyes fluttered open. Immediately, a wave of pain assaulted my head and it was as if I had a thousand horse galloping in it.I didn't know how long I had slept nor did I want to know, but the pain all over my body made me feel terrible. My legs were all sore as of I had done some heavy work.Where the hell was I?The last thing I could remember was fainting due to the loss of blood after that strange man almost sucked me dry?"How many days, have I been asleep?" I muttered under my breath as something struck me.But no matter how much I thought, the pain in my head continued to increase and I has no other choice but to push away the thought.Suddenly the smell of food wafted into my nose and my stomach grumbled. Immediately a pang of hunger hit me, making me realize how hungry I was.I had to look for something to eat. I could care less about where I was. The only thing I could thinking about was food."Arrrghh!"I yelled in pain immediately my le
"Stop it!" I roared, grabbing Alexis by the shoulder and flinging her away."Urgh" I heard Alexis grunt of pains but I could care less about it.All my attention was fixed on Megan who had fainted from the shock of being near death for the second time.I wondered what would have happened if I had not come on time. But then it seems like I was also late this time too. The first time, I was late and yet I was late this time again.Looking at the unconscious body of Megan lying on the floor, my anger began to grow and I slowly released my aura. What the hell was Alexis thinking? Trying to kill her. Sometimes, I just couldn't understand what was going on in my beta's head as she would sometimes act weird. This time, I was to blame, I hadn't taken good care of Megan even though I knew that she was going to try to escape once she woke up. And since no one knew her she was a threat or an invader.I tried to justify what Alexis did, but no matter how much I tried to justify it, I just couldn'
CHAPTER 7Alexis’s POV. I stood, rooted to a spot, my heart hammering in my chest as disbelief and anger coursed through my veins. This was the first time that Khalid raised his voice at me, and to be honest—it broke me. I have been a loyal member of the pack for years, which led me to becoming the Alpha’s Beta. My dedication never wavered, even in the face of adversity. Yet, there I was, being chastised by the very Alpha I have always looked up to and admired, all because of a girl.Megan! This name alone was enough to ignite a spark of fury within me. I have watched from the shadows as the newcomer managed to capture the heart of the Alpha, even though he didn’t show it. I have been in love with Alpha Khalid for as long as I could remember, and I have always hoped that one day, Khalid would see me as more than just a trusted member of the pack, or his Beta, and that he would come to love me as much as I loved him. But that dream seemed to be slipping through my fingers like g
Chapter 8. Khalid's POVAs I gently laid Megan on the bed, I couldn't help but sigh inwardly. Her beautiful face, which was now pale, depicted pain, I was so pissed with Alexis, but I managed to control myself. “Where was the physician?” I asked myself, as I paced to and fro in the room. The maid I sent to get the Physician hadn’t returned, and I couldn’t help but worry about Megan’s life. I stared deeply into Megan’s face, and breathed sadly. I could only imagine the pain she was going through that moment!Alexis was a very skilled fighter, which was one of the main reasons I made her my Beta. I knew her capability, and that was why I was scared for Megan. The fact she was also an ordinary human added to my worries, as I prayed that she didn’t sustain any injuries. I had never intended to get involved with her, especially with this curse looming over me, but I didn’t understand my feelings anymore. I became confused as to what was happening to me!Not only that, but I have a
CHAPTER 9.Megan’s POV. I thought I was dead because the last thing I remembered was the feeling of drowning, the world slipping away from me. The pain I had felt before I fell unconscious wasn’t left out. But as I opened my eyes, The rays of the moon shone brightly on my face, causing me to blink rapidly. I gasped loudly when I noticed how long I stayed unconscious. I was knocked out in the evening….and it’s late at night now. I had to readjust myself on the bed, and I groaned slightly when I felt pains all over. Then the blurry image of Khalid saving me surfaced in my mind, and a sharp pain accompanied the memory.“Why did he save me?” I rolled my eyes, completely confused by the fact that he saved me. The fact that Khalid saved me was shocking because it was obvious that he hated me, so he could have just let me die peacefully. I breathed deeply and looked around the room, with wonder!I wondered how I managed to get here, and who must have brought me here. My heart beat i
Chapter 10. Khalid’s POV. I sighed deeply as I quickly left my room, and went straight to the room I had laid her earlier, just to meet an empty room. I glanced at the bed, and also met it empty. Not only that, but I quickly turned and ordered the maid to get a guard for me. I was shocked and scared to the extent that I couldn’t move. I froze on my spot, still looking around in shock. “Why did she go?” I couldn’t help but ask myself. I was still lost in thoughts that I didn’t know when the guard suddenly appeared. “Your highness,” He called loudly, and I jolted back to reality, facing him instantly. “You sent for me,” He added, and I nodded quickly. “Get the rest of the guards ready, and find her now!!” I ordered, and he looked at me confusingly. I was so worried about Megan, that I got easily pissed at that moment. “What is it?” I asked the moment I noticed that he still stood there, probably waiting for a more detailed explanation. “What are you waiting for?” I barked a
Chapter 11Khalid’s POV. Before she fainted, I felt something….An overwhelming connection between us during her transformation. I couldn't help but feel the powerful connection between us, like an electric current pulsing through my veins. It was more like a bond between us, and I stared at her in shock. My heart raced as I made the split-second decision to knock out the wolf, which was already berserk. I knew I needed to do it to make her free….Megan was tired, and she fainted due to the pains she went through, so knocking out the wolf was the right thing I needed to do that instant. In a swift move, I landed a firm blow, causing the massive beast to collapse, transforming back into the woman he had just been with moments ago. Megan! As I caught my breath, I began to perceive something!A familiar scent! I looked around desperate to know where the scent was coming from, but to my shock and surprise—it was coming from Megan. The scent of the man I have been searching for all
Leo POVAs Leo retreated into the darkness, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of sadness for the path he had chosen. Despite our victory and the revelation of the truth, there was still a lingering shadow of conflict that cast a pall over our newfound peace. In the days that followed, our pack worked tirelessly to rebuild and strengthen our bonds. Megan, now officially recognized as our Luna, played a pivotal role in uniting our members and healing the wounds of the past.We reached out to neighboring packs, seeking alliances and cooperation to ensure lasting peace in our territory. It was a slow and delicate process, but the shared goal of a harmonious coexistence drove our efforts. As for Leo, he remained a formidable adversary, lurking in the shadows with a burning desire for revenge. We knew that the threat he posed could not be underestimated, and we remained vigilant, ready to defend our pack at any moment. One evening, as Megan and I were seated in our private quarters, discussi
Khalid POV I returned to our pack’s territory with Megan by my side, and the moment our dude of the pack members caught sight of us, a wave of jubilation swept through the crowd. They cheered, clapped, and howled in delight, their faces filled with relief and joy. As we approached, my men and warriors surrounded us, offering their congratulations and embraces. Megan was welcomed with open arms, and it was clear that her return had brought a renewed sense of hope to our pack. Amid the celebrations, I noticed some of my closest allies looking anxious. It was clear that they had something important to share with me. I pulled them aside, Megan by my side, and asked, “What has happened while I was away? Why do you all seem so concerned?” One of my trusted warriors, Marcus, stepped forward. “Khalid,” he began, his voice grave, “while you were searching for Megan, Aaron has made a significant move. He has revealed that he has a son named Leo, and Leo is helping him plan for the upcoming b
Khalid POV The land of the dead had taken Megan from me, and the ache of her absence felt like a wound that would never heal. The spirits of the elders, whose guidance had sustained me, now seemed distant and insubstantial in the face of this profound loss. But as I stood there, a spark of determination flickered within me. The forest may have claimed Megan for now, but I could not let it have the final say. I had come too far, faced too much, to simply accept defeat. With a heavy heart, I made a silent vow to continue the journey, to find a way to bring Megan back from the land of the dead. The love and memories we shared would be my guiding light, the force that propelled me forward through the darkness. The forest’s eerie whispers and haunting spirits would not deter me. I would face whatever trials lay ahead, for Megan’s sake and for the legacy of our love. The path ahead was uncertain, but I would walk it with unwavering determination, fueled by the promise of a future where w
Aaron POV I took a deep breath, my anger still simmering beneath the surface, but now tempered by a growing sense of understanding. The spirit’s words had struck a chord within me, a reminder that my journey was not solely about seeking answers but also about confronting the tumultuous emotions that had shaped my path. With a nod of acceptance, I turned and retraced my steps, making my way back to the barrier that had initially thwarted my progress. The prismatic walls of the chamber seemed to watch over me, a silent witness to the inner turmoil I had faced. As I stood before the shimmering barrier once more, I closed my eyes and focused on the roiling anger within me. It was a storm of emotions, a tempest that threatened to consume my reason. Yet, with each breath, I sought to gain control, to understand the source of my rage. Images and memories flickered in my mind, moments of pain, betrayal, and frustration. I allowed myself to fully experience these emotions, acknowledging the
Leo POV My mother, Bridget, began to speak, her voice carrying a weight of ancient wisdom. “Long ago, in a time when our kindred packs, the Moon Pack and the Sun Pack, coexisted in harmony, there was a love that defied the boundaries of our divided world. That love was between me, Bridget, and Aaron, your father.” As my mother spoke, the ethereal surroundings seemed to shift and transform, displaying scenes from the past. I watched in awe as the story unfolded before my eyes. My love with Aaron was pure and unbreakable,” my mother continued. “But our love faced a dire challenge when my father, Alpha Cyrus, your grandfather, made a grave mistake. He believed that an alliance with a powerful dark force would grant our pack strength and dominance over the Sun Pack.” The scenes showed Alpha Cyrus making pacts with shadowy ominous figure for his gain of power and dominance, his actions leading to the outbreak of war between the Moon Pack and the Sun Pack. The devastation and suffering c
Zack’s POVI went to back to the mansion and called for Jack, the leader of the warriors. He came in after some minutes.“Greetings, alpha.” He saluted.“At ease, soldier.” I said“Any lead on the search for Kaine and Darren?” I asked.“We have searched the eastern and western perimeter fully but still no sign of either of them.” He said.“We have caught traces of them in two different locations but by the time we arrived ,it seemed they had long departed from there.” He added.I had just returned from Ruby’s place. I had confronted her about the note she left me. She claimed she knew about Annie. But Annie is dead, I thought. What is all this rumor going round that she is alive. If she were alive, I would feel her somehow. But her presence is still same. Dead to me since I was told she died. Could it be possible that she is alive? I was having mixed feelings about it. A part of me will be happy that she is still alive but another part of me is worried about the effect it will have
LEO POVAs I held the letter tightly, my fingers trembling against the parchment, I couldn’t help but think about Amelia’s unwavering patience. She had sat there, silently watching me read the letter, her presence a comforting anchor amidst the storm of emotions that swirled within me. Each time my brows furrowed in disbelief or confusion, she would lean in closer, her concern etched across her face. It was as if she could feel the weight of the revelations in the letter even before reading it herself.“Amelia,” I continued, my voice still quivering, “you need to read this. It’s about Bridget’s past, and it’s... it’s unbelievable.”Her eyes never left mine as she took the letter from my trembling hands, her fingers gentle yet firm. I watched as her expression mirrored my own astonishment as she began to scan the contents. In that moment, I couldn’t help but be grateful for her presence, for her ability to share in the shock and disbelief that had taken hold of me.As she read, her bro
LEO POVFlashbackThe battle raged on, with Aaron being taken captive by the Moon Pack warriors. He cast one final, longing look back at his beloved Sun Pack, his heart heavy with worry for their safety. The radiant warriors continued to fight valiantly, but the outcome of the battle remained uncertain.Bridget, still confined within the palace, strained to hear the events that had unfold at the battle field. Her heart sank as she was turned that the battle had taken a dire turn, with Aaron now a prisoner of her father’s pack. Her determination to prevent this war and save innocent lives weighed heavily on her shoulders.Bridget heard with a mix of relief and sadness as her father’s pack was forced to withdraw. Her heart ached for Aaron, now a captive, and for the wounded warriors on both sides. She knew that the path to peace would be long and challenging, but she remained committed to the cause, determined to heal the wounds and bridge the divide that had torn their packs apart.Br
LEO POVFlashback As the fateful day dawned, the tension in the air was thick with anticipation. Bridget’s heart ached as she watched from her confined room, knowing that the battle was about to begin, and her father’s army would unleash devastation upon Aaron’s kingdom. She could not bear the thought of the impending loss of innocent lives.Cyrus stood at the head of his pack, a commanding presence among the sea of fierce warriors. He raised his powerful wolf head high, his eyes gleaming with determination as he prepared to address his pack before the impending battle.“Warriors of the Moon Pack,” he began, his voice ringing out with authority, “today, we stand on the brink of a battle that will determine the fate of our pack and our way of life. We march to protect what is ours, to secure our dominance, and to ensure our survival.”The warriors, their fur bristling with anticipation, listened intently to their alpha’s words. Cyrus continued, his voice unwavering, “The hidden kingd
