Chapter 87: Counter Attack

I looked around and the number people gathered were so few. Before the meeting started, I was discouraged by the turnout and I got an awful feeling about this. I can’t tell why I’m feeling. “Where is everyone?” I asked Sterling who put up a small frown, probably because his patience was beginning to wear out.

“I was about to ask as well,” Lois muttered.

Sterling looked at us, disappointment written over his face. “I’ll have to check to know what’s keeping everyone,” he muttered. “I gave them ten minutes to gather here and the hall is still empty. Give me a minute.” He walked out of the hall.

‘We don’t have time, Bryan. Can’t we tell the few here? I think they would do well to spread the information if Sterling orders them to.”

“Sterling wants everyone here. I think its best if we have half of the pack members.” Ten minutes later, people began to troop into the hall. I sighed in relief. I wondered why it was so hard for them to answer their beta call.
