Chapter 114: Take Me There

I walked into the hall, my heart racing with anticipation. It was a huge celebration at the pack. Adam had returned. When it was announced a minutes ago, I thought it was a dream, not until I saw everyone running to meet him.

Adam was sitting on a chair, his eyes red and puffy. He had bruises all over him, although they were beginning to heal. I could tell he had been crying too.

"Adam, what happened to you?" I asked, my voice deep.

Adam looked up at me, his eyes filled with sadness. "Scarlett saved me," he said, his voice shaking.

A sudden rush of blood to my brain made me kneel before him. I grabbed his hand."What do you mean? Where did you see her?" I asked.

Adam took a deep breath. "Evans kidnapped me and tortured me to be a spy for him. He wanted me to tell on you and reveal vital information about you. But I refused. It happend that Scarlett had planned with her friends to kill Evans. She burned down the mansion. That was how she discovered me and saved me."
