Keira POV

"Lynede, come to the PARK cafe, I treat you to afternoon tea." I called her.

"Oh, you are sooo sweet! I will be there in one minute."

Five minutes later, Lynede showed up in the cafe.

"Hey, Keira!" She looked around and finally locked on me. "Tell me why you called me here, not for an afternoon tea, right?"

"Before I tell you, let's order something to drink first." I gave her a menu.

"A Lemon Tart and a Matcha latte. Thank you." Lynede said to the waiter and couldn't wait to ask me, "What happened?"

I paused and then questioned her, "I accidentally met a male with black hair in the bar. I mean, do you know who in our pack has black hair?"

"Black hair? As far as I'm aware, Kloss and our new Alpha both have black hair, and..."

"Oh my goodness, look who I met! My dear classmates!" We were rudely interrupted by Rhoda.

"Rhoda, shut up. No one wants to communicate with you." Lynede's eyes rolled back, and she had a repulsed expression.

"I'm the niece of the Alpha of Jupiter Pack, so don't speak to me in that manner. Bitch, be mindful of your tone." The menu was thrown on the table, and she shifted her gray wolf. With its ears raised and teeth showing in a low growl, her wolf made an offensive gesture toward us.

"You're the one who came to interrupt our conversation! Will you stop talking about your uncle for even a second?" Lynede stood up and her wolf immediately stepped in front of us for protection. Lynede's wolf was as big as Rhoda's, and with her dark brown fur burning like fire, it was hard to tell who would win.

Rhoda's wolf's eyes showed a desire to fight, and Rhoda sneered when he saw Lynede's wolf's actions, "I don't want to fight you because the result is obvious, isn't it? I heard you talking about our Alpha, so I need to warn you not to covet him. He will be mine, and I could be Luna!" She tossed back her blonde hair, smiled smugly, and stomped off to the door on her heels.

"Does she not realize that the Moon Goddess chooses Alpha's mate?" Lynede turned to me after gazing at her back and stated while sporting a perplexed expression.

Rhoda paused after hearing what Lynede said, turned to face us, and took another stride, "He would reject you even if one of you were his mate! Look what you get. A foolish wolf? And... I'm sorry, but it appears that someone is still WOLFLESS."

She turned her attention to me and added in a mocking tone, "Nobody wants a wolfless mate, let alone Alpha. Keira, keep in mind what I said; the Alpha will undoubtedly reject you."

She was telling the truth, so what could I argue with that? Lynede patted me on the shoulder after Rhoda left, "She's always been so mean, so disregard what she said. She's even imagining that she'll become Luna, and in my opinion, the moon goddess won't let her have her way."

"It's okay, she's trying to create my wounds, but I've been numb for a long time." I sighed.

"What was you asking about anyway? Keira?"

"Forget about it. Would you go to the Hunting&Dancing?" I gave up inquiring about the male. Rhoda was correct. The Puppy Lover had a 1% chance of becoming the Alpha, and there was a 50% possibility that he would reject me within this 1% chance. So why was I concerned? Just give him to those who enjoy fierce love.

The pull of your spouse is quite powerful, and even if you try to resist it, you will never be able to do so since the mate that the moon goddess selected for you is the other half of your soul. It may seem very simple, but in reality, it may be rather painful. You will never be at peace, never feel fulfilled, lose your love for the rest of your life, and you will constantly wake up at night and pace around like a ghost if you lose your soul mate. Therefore, not having a spouse is probably the best news for me right now because it would slightly improve my current circumstance for someone without a wolf.

"Yeah, sure. I will attend the dance party, that is the rule. Why?" Lynede took a sip of the coffee that just had been served, as if she thought of something in the aftertaste, she choked and exclaimed, "Don't tell me that you wanna hunt! Are you crazy?"

"Why not? Dylan promised me that he would take me to the forest. It must be very thrilling and exciting!"

"Dylan? Oh, you mean your neighbor? He really knows you! Have you ever thought that he might be your mate?"

"Lynede! He is my friend, and I haven't shifted yet..." My voice trailed off.

"Keira!" Lynede yelled out and passed the lemon tart to my mouth with a fork, "It tastes good."

Since she didn't want me to bring it up because it would make me unhappy every time, I stopped for a few minutes before opening my mouth and said, "Thank you, you are very sweet!" I mimicked her voice as I spoke.

I cast an envious glance at the wolf next to her, and when Lynede saw it, she added, "Aimee, say hello to Keira, she's my best friend; if she's in trouble later, you have to protect her."

Aimee approached me and gave me a couple of tail wags as a sign of goodwill. I raised my gaze to her and said to Elisa, "Can I touch her?"

"Yes, of course." Lynede made a shrug.

I tried to reach out my hand to see how she would react, and I gently touched her head." Wow, you're so beautiful!" I said.

She even lifted her head and licked my fingers in response to my compliment.

"That's certainly unusual. She doesn't care about anyone else, but when it comes to you, it's obvious she's smitten with your charms." Lynede yelled.

"Do you like me? Eh, Aimee. Good girl." I gently stroked her head.

When I got home, I lay on my bed and looked at the window in the ceiling, which was specially designed for me by my father at that time, he and my brother spent two days making it, in order that I could see the stars at night when I looked up. I stared at the stars and got lost in thought.

Since they shift at the age of 17, they are probably going to meet their mate. I haven't shifted yet, even though I'm about to turn 18. Nobody is aware of what's happening to me. Louis even talked about it with me, stating he wanted to make sure our parents in heaven weren't concerned. Since I was a young child, I have envisioned the appearance of my wolf as well as the color of her fur and the color of her pupils. For her to pick from, I even prepared three names. However, every birthday would push me farther into the pit of despair. I don't care anymore if I find my mate because even if he is here, I wouldn't know what to do. I can't recognize him, feel him, even say to him that you are my mate.

In the new Alpha's office, Stephen whispered, "I've called Dylan away, but it's hard to keep an eye on them all the time."

"It doesn't matter, I'll watch her." The voice was cold.

"Are you sure that you want to do it?"

"The old guys expect that the pack has a Luna." A beautiful little gift box and a tiny GPS tracker were on the table.

"But she is your mate." Stephen scowled.

"I won't fall in love with her, and I don't need a mate."

Stephen nodded because he had nothing to say. He walked out of the room and sighed, "What if she discovered that these were all fakes?"

Louis stared at me as he sat in front of me, "There are a few things that need to be taken care of today, so I have to head to the Full Moon Room a little early. You'd better dress up before the ball starts." I didn't tell him I was going hunting because it was not allowed. I nodded and stuffed toast into my mouth. "Do you have a dress for the ball?" Louis enquired of me. He had this tie in his hand when he went out of his room following breakfast. I nodded while grinning badly. He appeared to be about to say anything else, but all he did was lightly sigh. He was already attired. He looked dapper in a navy blue suit with vertical stripes and an orange tie, and I knew he was going to make an impression. "Well, I'll see you in the Full Moon Hall." He said, placing his hand on the door handle. "Okay, bye." After he closed the door, I quickly cleaned up everything o

Keira POV I couldn't see the Alpha's face because of his deerstalker, but even so, I felt silly for overthinking it when I realized this puppy lover wasn't the Alpha. I relaxed and smiled. The puppy lover looked at me when he heard my chuckle, and then he continued to return his attention to the hunting scene. Based on the serious expression on his face, I guessed he was probably a skilled hunter as well. When he saw the man raise his rifle and aim it at the buck, he frowned, as if he already knew what was going to happen, inaccurate aiming or something. The buck was still staring down and smelling the dandelions in the grass, completely oblivious to what was awaiting him. When I unconsciously sneezed, the buck alertly perked up its ears, pulled its head up, elevated its front feet, and raced quickly. The breeze carried the dandelion seeds off. The buck didn't even hesitate for a second before vanishing into the forest, and the Alpha, enraged at witnessing his prey go, beat his fist

Keira POV Rhoda was wearing a dark green low-cut velvet evening gown that displayed her cleavage and her shoulders. She looked down at me with a disgusted expression, "Except for your diamond earrings, you have no taste in fashion, and I bet no one will ask you to dance tonight." "So what, I'd rather be outside in the fresh air on the terrace." "Somebody needs to sob on the terrace." Rhoda walked to me with a whiff of perfume and grinned haughtily, "Do you suppose that there would be a Romeo who would throw pebbles at the window and take you to leave to somewhere? You wish!" She ran her hand through her hair. How can someone misinterpret someone's words? "Well, I hope Alpha declines to dance with you." I took Lynede's hand and walked away, didn't wait for her reaction. Because I didn't want to argue with her in this situation anymore. She was still cursing. "Your earrings are really pretty! When did you buy them?" We stopped at a round table, Lynede asked me. "No, they were give

"As you see, I am your Alpha and your mate. My name is Augustine Lope, don't forget your mate's name, Keira." He lifted my hand and put it to his mouth and kissed it. What the hell! I can't believe it! He is my new Alpha, my mate! Is this the way that Moon Goddess punishes me? And why does he know my name? Augustine lowered his head to see the look on my face, and said in a firm tone, "I could know everything about you, as long as I want." Our eyes met and I took a step back when I noticed his possessive gaze which was breathtaking. There's no denying that he was irritated by my actions. I saw the fire of rage in his eyes as if something mad was happening. Augustine grabbed my arm in silence and pulled me back, "Never try to flee from me, I think you've heard of me and I don't want to show you my cruelty unless it's necessary

Rhoda muttered angrily, then she took a long breath and acting composed, "How is she your mate, Alpha? She... She can not even shift." "It is all designed by Moon Goddess, so it doesn't matter." "But what use is a Luna who cannot shift; you must now reject her." "I'll reiterate that she is already mine, so I won't reject her. You are not qualified to ask me to do this." In response to Augustine's remarks, her cheeks started to become crimson with embarrassment. She bowed her head and quickly left the hall. I felt Augustine firmly grasp my hand and added, in a forceful voice, "She is my mate, and we will wed the following month. But pardon me, we have to leave for a little while." I motioned for Augustine to release his grip, but he ignored me and nodded to Louis, Louis reciprocated. "I was a little dizzy and Augustine gave me a hand." I explained to Louis and I swore that when I speak his name, Louis frowned for one second. "Keira, let's go. We're gonna see the elders." Augustine grabbed my hand, when we were about to pass by Louis, a hand stopped me. "Don't you know that she hasn't shifted, Alpha? You stubbornly bring her in front of people without considering what they might say about her behind her back. A useless Luna or a wolfless Luna?" Louis was holding back his anger, trying to speak in a calm tone. Augustine heard what he said, turn his head, and narrowed his eyes, "As Alpha, I won't allow anyone to slander my mate, and our pack needs a Luna." I have to say family is all we h

Contrasting sharply with the silent room, the hall is bustling with conversation and laughter. As I followed him, I noticed the elders exiting the conference room and casting a somber glance our way. It was obvious that they had not received the desired result from the negotiations. However, the others were enjoying their feast. When we finally reached what appeared to be a private house, I studied his place. The house itself was simple. It was a typical three-storey modern-style cabin with a terrace facing directly onto the pool. There was nothing

"Shh," He put his finger on my lips and rubbed it hard. "I told you that never say no to me." He flicked the loose hairs on my forehead. What is he doing? I can barely comprehend anything, and I am naked. When I realized this, I hurry to cover my breasts with my hands. When he saw what I had done, he narrowed his eyes and pushed me until my back banged on the wall. The cold wall made me tremble. He grabbed my hands, pressing them against the wall. I made an effort to get away from him, but his hands were immobile like a tree firmly planted in the ground. "I've been waiting for you in bed, but you're taking too long to wash." He leaned to me, putting his mouth on my ears. The marble wall was cold, but his lips were so hot that almost burn me. "I couldn't stop myself. You have to be mine." Augustine released one

I had always considered myself a composed and level-headed person, at least, the elders and others in my pack often remarked. I never liked looking at him with my head held high. "Should I then extend my gratitude for that? I'm not some pawn you try to manipulate by restraining me and then casting me aside when you become enraged. With a heavy heart, I buried my face in the familiar comfort of my pillow, contemplating the events of the previous night. The haze of the evening still clung to my mind. Perhaps Owain is a drink stronger than any alcohol I had tasted before and maybe I was having a dream without thinking about the consequences. He transported me into a realm that granted me the freedom to indulge in my every desire. In that fleeting moment, I yearned to break free from the shadows that had long enveloped me, to escape and find the train that would carry me back home.Confusion lingered as I struggled to discern which addiction held a stronger grip on my soul. As she closed the door to her room and collapsed onto the bed, the scene of Augustine and Rhoda together kept replaying in my mind. Was I jealous or just sad that he had cheated on her? I couldn't tell which of his words were lies, and I had no idea what he and Rhoda were doing now."Keira, are you okay?" Owain's voice came through the door, and he knocked softly.
