BACK TO TRAINING AND BACK TO WORK

Alexi - We took advantage that my grandparents were taking over the pack temporarily.  With the past month that Nicholas and I have had we needed a break.  Our stress reliever is sex, plain and simple, we are wolves after all and we have a high sexual need otherwise we are not easy to get along with. After two days of nonstop sex, we were ready to take back over our pack. Okay maybe we did stop to eat, sleep, and use the facilities.

Alexi – my brother Ares needed me to go to the castle for strategic training. Ares also wants me to train with the royal warriors. My brothers wanted to make certain that I indeed could take care of myself. This last episode of getting kidnapped by King Williams scared my brothers. After showering with my mate, I explained how my brothers wanted me to visit the castle to train with the Royal guard, I was going to teleport to Castle and back. Nicolas kissed me and headed to the pack house to relieve my grandparents.

Nicolas- I walk into my office to find Alexia’s grandparents in a very compromising position on my sofa in my office. Remind me I said to myself to burn that sofa. Hasn’t Alexia’s grandparents ever heard of locking a door? I clear my throat and I motioned I would go outside until they were decent. I started to go out the door when my gamma ran in. I chuckled you may want to close your eyes. I grabbed the gamma by his arm, noticing his mouth hanging open in shock. No one wants to see their parents naked, and especially not their grandparents. I say, “Hey dude, let’s go to breakfast until they are decent. My gamma nodded and we walked to the chow hall together.

There had been a traitor amongst Alexi’s men the night she tried to kill King Williams. Nicolas’s Delta was the traitor unbeknownst to Nicolas and Alexi. The Delta is a trainee to become a beta, and this was the traitor. When the beta position opened, Nicolas did not give the beta position to the delta. The Deltas name is Howard, nickname Howie. Howie was cunning, he was not a strong warrior, Howie used trickery and deception to manipulate people to giving him the position he wanted. Howie’s goal in life was to obtain ultimate power. He had been in a card game with the Beta and Gamma, their wager was if Howie won, he would get the Delta position. The three of them were drunk as a werewolf could get. The beta laughed and agreed to the wager, the beta had never lost a card game, the beta did not realize that Howie would cheat. That is why the beta made Howie a delta.

Nicolas when interviewing did not like how weak the delta is. The Delta should be able to take down any warrior, and Nicolas doubted Howie could take down a 5-year-old pup. In fact, Nicolas had been planning to take the position of Delta away from Howie. The Beta is second to the Alpha and if something happens to the Alpha and the Alpha does not have an heir, then the role is passed to the beta. There is no way that Nicolas would ever trust Howie to have his back or die for the pack if necessary. This is what triggered the anger with Howie, he felt humiliated and wanted nothing more than to have Nicolas killed. His being disgruntled did not go unnoticed by the werewolf King. The King promised the Delta the Alpha position if the Delta is the eyes and ears for the Vampire King. He has been the one who let the King know in advance about Alexi’s plans to kill King Williams. The Delta walked over in the chow hall towards the Alpha and Gamma, bowing his head, “May I join your table?” Howie asked Nicolas. Nicolas apologized to Howie stating he had confidential business with his gamma. The truth was he did have confidential business with his gamma, Nicolas wanted to give the Beta position to his gamma, the gamma proved he could run a pack if need arose.

Nicolas – Looking at his gamma smiling “Matthew, I want to offer you the position as my right-hand man, and I would like you to be my new beta. I am thankful that you led the pack and kept everything running without total panic. Thank you, which brings me back to my proposal, you have proven yourself, so I would be honored to have you as my beta.”

Matthew put his head in hands wondering if it is something he even wanted. He had never been a person that sought out power. The old beta had been his lifelong friend, and his friend encouraged Matthew to apply for the gamma position. Never in his lifetime did he think that an Alpha would want him to be his beta. When both Alexi and Nicolas were out of commission being acting Alpha by power of elimination was Matthews’ duty. He did not know how special that was, it was his duty to do so.

Matthew kept thinking and realized he has been a future gamma for the past couple of years. What else would he do besides be apart of the Alphas top officials. Matthew was going to accept the position. Matt looks back up at the Alpha, “Alpha, I would be honored to become your beta. Thank you for the offer and I gladly accept.” Nicolas smiled from ear to ear, he had finally found his new beta, now they needed a gamma.

Nicolas did not realize that Howie was in a table close by simmering with anger and seething with jealousy that Matthew got the role of gamma. Matthew hated Nicolas even more, the Beta should have been his position he was the delta, the trainee to become Beta, however Nicolas passed the position right past Howie’s head. Howie had to start giving the Vampire more information. Howie could hardly wait to see Alpha Nicolas and Matthew dead; they had his position and he wanted them dead and gone.

Howie takes off out of the pack house headed towards the woods transforming into his wolf running off his anger in the woods.

Nicolas looked around to make certain no one was nearby, and the chow hall was empty now. “Listen Matthew, I don’t want Howie as our delta, he is weak, and he seems creepy. I would like you to find candidates for both Gamma and Delta positions and then we can decide who we want. We need to have a meeting with Howie to let him know we are dismissing him. How about tomorrow afternoon? What do you say Matthew?” Matthew nodded, the biggest mistake he felt they made was letting Howie become a Delta, he clearly was not meant for that position. Both Nicolas and Matthew arose from their seats and left, Matthew left to find candidates for the two different open positions and Nicolas was going to go back to his office and hopefully Alexi’s grandparents were now decent.

Nicolas cracked the door slowly looking around fearful of what he might see. Relief fell upon his demeanor as Alexi’s grandparents were dressed and sitting together on the sofa. Nicolas smiles at them. Nicolas sits at his desk and then addresses Alexi’s grandparents. “Thank you so much for helping with the pack during these trying times, I am eternally grateful to both of you. Cordelia, Alexi said you were able to help the King with his grieving, I was wondering if you could do the same for my dad?”

Cordelia – “Of course I will, we will head over to the pack hospital, and I will administer the potion I used for my son. It will help dull the pain so that life is bearable without his mate. Nicolas if you don’t mind, my mate and I are ready to leave, we will pop in to see your dad at the hospital and then we will head on home if that is, okay?”

Nicolas – “Most certainly, again you have deep felt gratitude. Travel safely and until we see you again.”  With that Cordelia popped out with her mate. Cordelia gave the potion to Nicolas’s dad and then headed back home with her mate.
