Chapter 47

Katie's POV

One afternoon, as I was driving home from the grocery store, I noticed a car following me. At first, I tried to convince myself that it was just a coincidence, but as I turned onto our street, the car turned with me.

My heart was pounding in my chest as I pulled into our driveway. I sat there for a moment, watching as the car pulled up behind me. I knew I had to be careful, but I also knew that I couldn't let this go on any longer.

I got out of the car and walked over to the driver's side of the other vehicle. The tinted window rolled down, and I saw Derek sitting behind the wheel.

"What do you want?" I demanded, trying to keep my voice steady.

"I just wanted to say hello," he said, his voice sickly sweet.

"Leave us alone," I said, taking a step back.

"Or what?" he said, a cruel smile spreading across his face.

"Or I'll call the police," I said, my heart racing.
