Stephen's seething gaze settled on Byron as he snarled, "Since you think I'm not your son and have no emotional attachment to me, why have you appeared before me now?"

Byron never imagined he would receive such hatred from the former. He assumed that Stephen wouldn't behave that way even if Stephen learned he had abandoned the latter.

Trembling with mixed emotions, Byron kept parting, then closing his lips. Ultimately, he didn't respond to Stephen; instead, he shot a murderous scowl at Darius, thundering, "You'd better not try anything against me! Otherwise, I promise you'll become the most miserable person in this building!"

Darius crossed his arms while nodding. "Good. I look forward to it. Until then, I'll continue to smile and keep my eyes peeled for what you do to me."

All color drained from Byron's face as he never thought Darius would belittle his threat. His gaze darted to an equally frightened Stephen. Shaking his head, he mused, "Stephen's my last shot. I'll be in deep trou
