James looked at Darius with bright eyes. “I realized that some of the younger members of the Reid family weren’t too pleased by your return. The Reid family has always put up a united front, so I had to interfere with some of their ploys to ambush you. Still, it’s inappropriate for me to deal with them directly, so you’ll have to do it yourself. I do understand why they feel this way, though. After all, they’ve been fighting to inherit my fortune since they were children.”

Darius wasn’t too bothered by this. He was prepared to deal with these matters, so he stood up and said, “I understand, Grandpa.” Then, his eyes widened, and he turned to look out the window.

He could hear there were more people gathered outside, and he looked determined. “Grandpa, this might be a little too late, but I’ve just realized something—the troublemakers gathered outside, and everything that’s happened today…they’re all my so-called relatives’ doing, right?”

James raised an eyebrow and smiled. “You’re rig
