Michael didn’t say anything. He knew Darius was telling the truth—there was no way to push the blame on Darius, no matter how one looked at it. Samantha was the cause of this whole mess.

After a long silence, he sighed. “I know this is all my daughter’s fault, but I still have to defend her. If you insist on punishing her, the only thing I can do is throw every cent the Williams family has into going against you.” He hung up after saying this, no longer possessing the strength to keep the conversation going.

He sat stiffly on the sofa, shrouded in darkness in the Williams family villa. The butler appeared beside him, bowed his head, and said, “Sir, I think we’ll need to prepare to face Darius.”

Michael nodded. “You’re right, but I don’t know what we should do.”

The butler sighed. “The risk of failure is too high. We have to come up with a contingency plan. For instance, we should send Miss Samantha away as quickly as possible.”
