Gemma
They had held an outside movie night where families could have a picnic while watching a family movie at the end of the previous night; she was glad for the event since she had been exhausted after her busy day and had apparently fallen asleep in Dale’s arms, since he had been particularly clingy after her kidnapping attempt and his conversation with his family.
This morning he had awakened her with hungry kisses that had her blood pumping long before she was completely awake, which only happened when he put her down outside for their morning run. She wasn’t sure how she felt about him driving her body insane before she had to run with the pack, but her attention was drawn to the other packs joining them for the morning run.
Apparently, they thought it was part of the things to do for the guests. She was not about to tell them any differently, but they all started the casual run so everyone could keep up. After the run, they r
DaleShe had excused herself from the table while he watched the alphas challenge each other for the title of strongest. He didn’t have much interest in it; his wolf only wanted to stay close to their mate. After a while he noticed that she still had not returned; he became worried and excused himself to see if she had gone somewhere to be alone. He had noticed that she would do that sometimes and he was worried with her energy fading quickly sometimes from all the wolves present. She would get tired quickly and she never said anything. What if she’d overexerted herself and was helpless somewhere? He had just come down the corridor when he heard her scream; it sounded like an angry scream and he rushed towards the bathroom where he was sure she was now.His mate never got so angry that she would be aggressive about it. He tried the door, but it was locked. He heard the scuffle inside and he felt the small ha
Gemma“I love you, my Gem.” He growled when he finally broke their make-out session so they could both catch their breath. She froze in shock at his confession. Wasn’t it too soon to make such confessions? Were things different for wolves? Did he actually love her or was it simply the mate bond that made her endearing to him? Surely, he couldn’t care for her so soon if he hadn’t wanted her to begin with?In her mind Daisy rolled her eyes. “Stop overthinking it! He said he loves you, say something back!”“Like ‘thank you’ or ‘you’ll change your mind soon enough’ or ‘terrible idea’? What am I supposed to say?” With another roll of her eyes, Daisy pushed into the driving seat. “She’s overthinking, Commander. Maybe you should make her forget?”Dale c
DaleHe could see his mate fighting both her wolf and her instincts about trusting him completely. She was mostly pensive whenever he saw her. According to Duke, Daisy had informed him that she was trying to figure out which of his actions were dictated by the mate bond and which were his true feelings. He didn’t know how to prove to her that he really was head over heels in love with her and the mate bond only forged the initial connection and the tingling sensations of their touch. He was frustrated with the situation he had caused and he wasn’t sure how to fix it. He was willing to fight for them, but he needed guidance.Currently he was waiting for his opponent to make the first move, but the alpha was nervous facing him. This alpha always erred on the side of avoidance. He didn’t know if it was because he wasn’t a very good fighter or because he was by nature a more peaceful alpha. His pack m
GemmaShe couldn’t be sure, but something seemed off with Duke where he sat on the side of his fighting ring. She had asked Daisy, but she was just as confused. He seemed both irritated and bored, but then, that could be her perception and she was quite possibly wrong.Grant was sitting beside her, snickering for some reason he refused to tell her. She’d been eating more of his trail mix than he had and she apologized when she realized how much she’d really eaten.Grant shrugged. “I’m not actually in the mood to finish it anymore. Do you want it?” He offered with a grin before shoving it into her hands without waiting for her reply.“Thanks…I guess.” She answered, glancing at him with confusion while he continued grinning like a loon. What was up with him today? He never usually left food over; between him and Dale, she was sure something was going
Gemma“Remember, he’s still half human and he had some unresolved fears and childhood traumas that he was only forced to work through when he met you. Do you know that his father killed their mother in front of them when they were pups? He feared that that monster was inside of him and he feared so many other things with that. Mostly, he feared for your safety.”“Well, it’s clear to anyone who cares to look that he’s nothing like his father and brother.” She retorted indignantly, taking offence that he would think himself to be anything like them.Well, aside from when he shot her with the tranquilizer dart, back then she might have agreed, but it turns out he’s just completely clueless and was now literally researching how to treat her on the internet. She’d caught him at it a couple of times already, but hadn’t wanted to draw attention to it. He was adorably c
Dale He’d noticed when Gemma took a walk with Elder Stuart, knowing that the man was probably talking with her. He was the closest thing he had to a real father considering his biological father’s distaste for him, so he trusted him with much more than he would most other wolves. Their fights had continued until he and Malcolm found themselves facing each other in the final match. He considered conceding, but he could see the challenge in Malcolm’s wolfish face. The male would be offended if he stepped down, now. So they fought. It was his first challenging battle for the day and though Malcolm was not as fit or strong as he was, he certainly was much smarter during their fight than the other opponents had been. He didn’t just rush in with brute strength; all his attacks and defenses were calculated moves. He wouldn’t mind sparring with him regularly as a change from his usual training. They might arrange it, once he’s settled in as the alpha of his childhood pack that was co
Gemma After her talk with Elder Stuart, she was thoughtful. He had answered so many of her questions without even realizing it. But her thoughts were still on Dale. Did he really feel those intense emotions for her? Would she be able to handle him being so intense around her? It was a little unnerving. She sometimes felt like prey when he focused on her so intensely; she could almost feel him summing up her weaknesses in his mind and it scared her a little. Was she ready to trust him completely, even with all her weaknesses? He had been even more attentive after their last challenge for the day and she couldn’t help becoming even shyer around him. They had a large outside picnic in the garden again and he was so attentive that he handed her the fried chicken wrap with curly fries before she was even completely sure that was what she wanted. It turned out he had guessed right. “Our mate is amazing…” Daisy gushed in her head and she was hard pressed not to roll her eyes at h
DaleIt was getting harder and harder not to claim his mate. Her scent tantalized his senses and drove Duke close to insane. It was no surprise that he was still riled up even after their pack run and self-defence class that had grown exponentially during the week of the tournament. It really did seem that the other packs thought that their pack run in the mornings was meant as extra entertainment that had been arranged for the tournament. Gemma had made sure that he knew they needed to do some work after the children’s fighting competitions. He knew she was there cheering on the pups like she had promised them at the beginning of the week. Emily, Wade, Charlie and Grant were there with her to cheer on the pups, but he needed some way to work off his frustrations. So he’d thought he’d pay their prisoners a visit and remind them of what awaited them after the tournament. Most wolves did not wait this long to
