Jenna’s P.O.V.
After decluttering for about an hour after finishing our Chinese food, Adam promised to bring me back to my hotel like the perfect gentleman that he was. And right now, as I was back inside my hotel room, it felt as if my mind was working in overdrive, as I was consumed with so many questions and thoughts. For one, I was seriously doubting checking out at the hotel and just moving into my Uncle Ben’s house for the time being. A part of me felt ready, even though I had only been inside his house once, and that had been with Adam by my side. I never had been alone in that house for over an hour ever since my Uncle Ben had died, and I started to doubt if maybe spending the night all alone, would actually be the final drop that would make the bucket too full and it would end up with me a being a sobbing and heartbroken mess.
Two, I also couldn’t help but go over the conversation Adam and I had had durin
Adam’s P.O.V.The dim glow of the TV screen flickered across the darkened room as I was lying in Jenna’s bed. Her breathing was even and deep as her head was resting against my shoulder, and her arm was securely wrapped around my waist as if a part of her was afraid that I would leave her, not that I ever would. Her chest rose and fell as it was nested against my own, our hearts beating together as one. After our shower, neither of us had the energy to leave the hotel room, so we just crawled into bed as if it was normal and something we did every day, not that I would mind if it was. We had talked a bit and shared room service pizza while watching a movie, but it had only taken about half an hour before Jenna’s breathing had become deeper and I knew she had fallen asleep in my arms, right where she belonged to be.I looked down at her as she was sound asleep in my arms, wondering if whenever she looked in the mirror, she saw
Jenna’s P.O.V.With a few weeks of pure loving bliss between Adam and me, spring had officially rolled into the small city of Fairview. Jackets had made way for thick winter coats, and I couldn’t leave my house without wearing mittens or a scarf.my houseIt still felt weird to say it like that…The decision to move into my late uncle’s house had been both practical and sentimental. Financially, it made more sense than continuing to stay in the hotel where I had taken refuge after inheriting the property. But there was more to it than just economics, it was a step towards embracing the legacy he had left behind for me. A chance to breathe life back into the old place that deserved people to live in it.My days were mostly filled with work, the demands of my job at Anderson’s Construction kept me occupied from morning till evening. It was hard and tiring work,
“Well, I’m honored to be a good enough reason for you to abandon your students during their period.” But he just shrugged, his grin never fading.“They’ll manage without me for a few minutes. So, what brings you to the halls of our school today, Miss Anderson?” He asked me as I gestured toward the library entrance.“I came to see the final result before the painters came in, Mr Miller.”Adam’s eyes sparkled with genuine interest.“I can’t wait to see it when it’s all finished. Principal Carter told me he wanted to put the opening together with the graduation party, so that gives us a couple more weeks extra in case something would set us back.” Adam spoke, to which I nodded, somehow feeling relieved by this news. Graduation, we could definitely make that deadline.“Who knows, the gym teacher might bring the CEO of Anderson’s Construction as his p
Adam’s P.O.V.The woods seemed to come alive even more whenever I was in my wolf form. Our family pack was weaving gracefully through the ancient trees and up the mountains. As we ran in unison, I could feel the exhilaration in the air, the magic of our connection both as siblings and as wolves. Koda, my younger brother, dashed ahead of me, his midnight dark fur a big contrast against the green grass that was surrounding us. I couldn’t resist the challenge and picked up my own pace, my own jet-black fur blending seamlessly with the shadows of the trees.Selene, our little sister, followed closely behind us, her presence a comforting presence in our heads. It has been too long since we did this! She laughed in our heads as she sent out a mind link, speaking to us all through our bond as packmembers of the same pack, her excitement so high it made even my own wolf smile. Our family bond ran deep, and on days
“Let’s not forget the chocolate bunnies and cookies. We need to make sure Jenna feels warm and welcome.” She spoke as she patted my arm, making me smile as I heard the way my baby sister was speaking about the love of my life. In a way, they could be a handful, but I still loved them all dearly and I wouldn't want to change anything about them. Not even Blade or Skye.“Jenna’s not five. But thank you though.” I nodded, following her downstairs into the kitchen. Somehow, I just couldn’t shake my nerves. Jenna was special to me, and I wanted everything to be perfect for her tonight as well.Just as I made it down the stairs, the front door opened and Gran walked inside. I almost immediately noticed the glint of mischief in her eyes, and I wondered if she already had something to drink back at home with Mindy before coming here. Knowing her, she probably did. The little minx.“Gran.”
Jenna’s P.O.V.I stood on the doorstep of Adam’s family house, clutching a bottle of champagne in my hands because my uncle had raised me to always bring a gift when being invited to a party. The crisp spring air clung to my skin as I stood on the doorstep of Adam’s house, but it was the fluttering of butterflies in my stomach that truly made me feel the cold tonight. Or maybe it was the fact that I had decided to wear a skirt instead of pants for this festive occasion? But I was right to be feeling nervous, this was my first Easter with Adam and his family, and I couldn’t help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness at the same time.Adam had been the steady rock in my life for a couple of weeks now. The idea that he wanted me to be a part of his cherished family traditions, filled me with a sense of belonging I had so longed for as a child growing up. The sun was beginning its descent, casting a warm glow over the grass fields surrounding
“That’s amazing Koda!” Eluna yelped, standing up to hug her brother immediately."And if you still have a job opening, it's mine, right?" She added, seeing how Koda smiled back at her as if it was already a done deal between them.“Congratulations, your dream is finally becoming a reality.” Selene smiled, hugging her brother as soon as Eluna had let him go.“This is quite the undertaking, Koda. Have you thought everything through?” Adam asked him, his fatherly role popping up. But The squeeze he gave my hand underneath the table, made me realize that Adam was in fact, very proud of his brother’s decision.“I went over to Barry and had another serious conversation with him, about what I saw in the future of his place, and how I want to run it, and he got all emotional once I was done and finally accepted. He told me that he was happy, that he can now finally retire and move to Florida with his wife.” He
Jenna’s P.O.V.After dinner had concluded, Adam and I began to clear the table together, carrying dishes and leftover platters into the kitchen. The room was still filled with the pleasant aroma of our festive meal, and the sound of laughter and stories continued from the living room where the rest of the family lingered, talking about their future plans. As we worked side by side, Adam’s fingers brushed mine, and he sent me a mischievous grin that hinted at an ulterior motive on his part. With a swift glance over his shoulder to make sure that nobody was watching us, he grabbed my hand and tugged me gently toward the laundry room behind us.“Hey,” he whispered, his voice filled with playful intent.“Hey,” I copied him, amused by his sudden change of plans, especially when he closed the door and locked it behind him. He turned to face me again with a grin that was equal part devio
