Reclining in an office all day could be monochromatic and depleting, well that was for some people but not the young alpha wolf sitting elegantly behind a large sliver desk, his hands working facilitatively as they pressed on the keyboard of his lab top, his organ of vision gunked to the flat screen.
His hair was a maximum length, pulled back into a low ponytail, leaving a few strands near the front, and was tucked behind his left ear while the right side was braided.
His weight was broad, bulky, and generously padded. His shoulders were beefy, active, wearing a black suit, he was durable and lusty. And let not forget his eyes, they were a gunmetal blue that looked as deep and seem to have a dark spark in them but what could be expected for an Alpha but his expression was gelid, no knife could compare to the sharpness of his jawline. His face was coagulated, stoic, and frosty that nearly sent the temperature of the space dropping.
His office, located in the highest part of the building was large and wide, neat and beautifully furnished, pictures and paintings hung on the wall. One could say his office was spotless and flawless. The room was arcadian, only the ferocious sound of typing from his fingertips could be heard but that did not last long as the glass doors of his magnificent office burst open without warning to reveal a choleric woman, her heels railed against frantically on the floor as she stood before the young man who slurred over her presence as he continued staring at the screen of his laptop
"Are you not going to acknowledge your mother, Mr. Martin." The woman spat irefully as she put both her hands on her hips. Looking at her, one could say she did not birth the young man. Her body was craved in a way most models were dying to have, her hair was sparkling blonde and her orbs were dark blue, sightly matching her son's.
"What brings you here Ma" the young man grilled at his mother in a serene tone as his eyes remain cemented on the flat screen, his concrete jaw was clenched as his face displayed no emotions, infuriating his already pissed-off mother.
"Why haven't you been picking my calls?" The beta woman inquired, trying her best to be placid with her second son who was proving to be more difficult than she thought. She felt a sense of equilibrium wash over her.
"I was busy Ma" The Alpha's voice remained cool, void of emotion. It was like he was made of impossible gravel while his arctic Alpha pheromones crammed the office.
"Since you are already here, you can state why you called" his fingertips stopped pressing on the keys as he slowly turned his attention to his mother, who looked like she would snap any second if he continued to pay her no mind.
The woman took deep breaths to calm her harsh breathing. This son of hers was going to be the death of her. "I've been calling to inform you, I've found someone to be your mate" suddenly, her expression turned to excitement as she smiled widely, grinning at her alpha son who stared at her blankly, completely unpuzzled by what she just disclosed.
If he was aghast, he did not show it as his gunmetal orbs remain arduous and expression masked by his poker face. "We already talked about this"
"Yes we did but you didn't show much interest when we talked on the phone, so I decided to go hunting myself" she informed him as she beamed.
Contending with his mother was impractical, she was a woman who got what she wanted either by crook or by the hook. "Who is it?" He implored as he calmly rested his back on the chair. He was only twenty-six, he was not in a rush to get married. He wasn't even sure if mating was on his list of achievements. "Why did she agree to marry me...?"
The woman's grin went even wider as she sat on one of the chairs in front of him. "She's an incredibly beautiful omega wolf, which you need if you want to win" she stared deadpanned.
She continued...
"I made a bargain with her parents. They were going bankrupt and I was willing to help if they espouse their daughter to you" she sneered at him but when she did not gain anything reaction from him, she continued. "Oh, you don't have to worry about anything else. I have been watching the Omega for a while now and I assure you, she makes an ideal mate for you. You should trust your mother when it comes to these things."
That was the problem, he could never trust her in these things. Who knew what kind of omega she had arranged for him this time. He remembered clearly back in high school when she continued to set blind dates with different omegas and other ranked wolves, thinking he might find one to his liking, none of which turned outright.
"You are ravaging a life" he stated untroubled.
Her smile went south as she glared at him. "Being mated to you is the best thing that could happen to her. It's not every day a poor rank omega like her ends up with someone of your status. She should be honored to be part of our family" she stood up. "Her name is Scarlett Stones, you guys will be meeting on your mating ceremony which would take place in two weeks"
Without waiting for his response, she turned and matched out the same way she came in. With a defeated sigh, the young Alpha turned to his work. Scarlett Stones would feel how it was taken the plunge with an apparition.
*********************************
"Like seriously, you are marrying off to a guy that is six years older than me. How fucked up is that…!” An irritated voice echo throughout the house, those outside wondering what was going on, while those inside, could only sit and watch as their daughter explode in enthusiasm.
She had every right to be indignant, they had failed as her parents and guidance. Pursuing their daughter into a loveless marriage was not what they wished for but they had no choice. “Please, try to understand…” the father tried to calm his furious daughter who was breathing like someone who had just run a long race.
Scarlett Stones, a 20 years omega, her body was what you could call feminine. Her shape was that of a pear, a tiny bust which was hidden behind a baggy shirt and pants that concealed her large hips and curvy waist, she had a balanced body.
Her hair was plum brown, long and spiky. Her eyes were the brightest amber, looking so innocuous and authentic, tintless and without flaws while the rest of her features were smooth. Typical omega.
“Understand what Father. How can I understand this? This would ruin my life” she yelled. She was trying not to be rude to her parents but this was too much. They might be her parents but they had no right to decide her life for her. Who even know how this guy looked, he could be an ugly monster behind a silver mask for all she knew. “Am still in college for fuck sake”
Her mother, Mrs. Stones, an omega woman stood up from where she was sitting beside her husband. “Calm down Scarlett. We understand your pain but we were despairing. The restaurant is all that we have and that is our only source of income. You have bills and books in school we can’t afford. Being mated to a rich Alpha will get you all that you seek” she assured her but that wasn’t the case for Scarlett. She didn’t want to be in a loveless marriage with some dude, worst an Alpha. She cringed at the thought.
“I already have a boyfriend whom I love dearly” She shut her eyes as her thoughts went to her loving boyfriend. How was she going to break the news to him? It would surely break him for sure.
Her father, Mr. Stones gave his omega daughter a blank look. “What do you have us do Scarlett. We couldn’t go bankrupt and starve to death. Do you want to drop out of college, is that what you want to happen, Scarlett”
“But Logan…”
Scarlett got interrupted by her mother. “Logan would be happy for you if he truly loves you as you claim”
Scarlett sighed in defeat. “When do I meet this Alpha?” She was at loss. She couldn’t drop out of college and she obviously couldn’t allow her family to live on the streets because of her selfishness.
Both parents breath out in relief. At last, their daughter was finally coming to her senses. “You’ll meet him at your mating ceremony which would be held in two weeks” they informed her and her mouth hit the floor.
Two weeks…!
“But Mother, Father, I don’t even know this Alpha. I need more time. I can’t just rush into mating like that”
“Time is not something we have. His mother would only pay off our debts after you get married to him and she gave us only two weeks to get you prepared”
This was ridiculous, Scarlett thought as she stormed to her room. She was freaking getting married at twenty in two weeks, what happened to all her dreams. How insane was that…?
Seemed like hell had finally arrived at her doorstep.
To be continued…!
It was opaque, dusky, if it hadn't been for the brilliant moon that glistened up in the night sky, she was sure she would be galloping straight into trees. She scampered deeper into the woody heaven, rushing on her paws. The whistling sound of the wing around the trucks was brutal and it slapped severely on her cheeks, snapping of branches, crinkly floors and the twigs were crunching under her paw could be heard, followed by her panting breathes. The smell of animal scent, rotting wood, and skunk weed broke through her nose and she nearly gagged in the air but not powerful as her distress pheromones that followed her through the dark, dry forest. The earthy air, the acidic taste, and the taste of her sweat spread on her tongue. A surge of adrenaline rushed through her as she forced her legs to move faster and harder. She reeled her head back for a moment and noticed how her pursuers increased their speed, she pushed hers
Time went by a whirlwind for Scarlett and the wedding day came upon them. The Omega wolf soughed dejected as she aspected her reflection in the bathroom mirror, she was finally getting mated.“What a good day to die today’ she gibbed painfully.Shaking her head grievously, she strolled out of the bathroom, a robe covering her bare body as she came out to the hotel room she had been staying in for the past two days, her future mother-in-law was a very persistent woman. She slowly squatted on the bed and gazed intensively at her white wedding dress. She soughed for the hundredth time since she woke up that morning. Mating ceremonies were now held like normal weddings where they had to take vows and wear rings but the mate mark on the neck was the most essential thing, it showed she was claimed. She flipped her plum brown hair off her shoulders.Who would blame her? She was a polite soul and
With an unforeseen bull, the door of the apartment burst open without admonitory and two pairs of ballistic heels ambled in, forecasting the ones inside.“Mara!” The owner of those heels vociferated as she continued to storm into the house as if she inhabited it and a woman came scrambling down the stairs, a little boy at the age of five shadowing her steps but she instantly halted as she saw the unanticipated visitant in her domicile, instantly the middle-aged omega exhorted her son to return to his bedroom while she loomed her fellow Omega.“Zelena, what are you doing in my residence, how did you come to know where I live?” She pointed her index finger accusingly at the foaming omega. With a puff, Zelena threw her handbag on the floor and took an ominous step towards Mara who stood her grounds unflinching, not irked by her presence. Both their blue orbs grimaced at each other. “I divulged
Again and again, her body repeatedly met the arduous concrete wall and for the fifth time, she landed on the ground with a thud, wheezing heavily as she suddenly felt a feeling in her stomach swelling, her head battering and her vision went in haloes. She swore she would pass out if this persisted. She remained on the frosted ground, the sweats and tears making her black hair feel sticky on her body but a Yelp left her lips when her back met the ground again, she could feel every joint in her aching while five fingers tightly wrapped themselves around her neck, keeping her pressed against the wall, the pressure tightening.Slowly, her dull brown orbs met his dark one, noticing nothing but resentment, malice, and a glint of evil that made her quiver."Still not going to talk?" Zinan derided, the silly omega was more formidable than he gave her credit for."You preposterous Alpha, you never said what you wanted!" With a swing of her legs, she had n
Reid unclogged the hotel room door for his wedded wife, Scarlet. Scarlet hesitantly sauntered in through the door that was being held open by Reid. She briskly went to one corner of the room, her hands nervously held in front of her, dithered and sweating, eyeing her wedding dress that brushed against the floor. She could feel her heart hammering beneath her clothed chest. Feeling fraughed, she inspected the hotel room they would be spending the night in. The room was lavished and expansive. A large looking bed at the middle with red and white color sheets and a sparking headstand. The bed was covered with red roses scattered all over. The room looked neither too feminine nor too muscular, the walls were lighted colored, the curtains on the wall were golden along with a sofa and a tea table, a large wardrobe at the corner, and in the middle of the room was a glass table with a bottle of wine and two glasses. Scarlet shook her head abhorrently, everything looked so r
Hmmm…. Scarlet stretched her hands backward as her ambers eyes slowly fluttered open but, immediately shut them back due to the bright light coming from the glass windows that had the curtains wide opened. Finally adjusting, she opened them again. Leisurely, she sat upright, the bedsheets covering her lower body. Scarlet rubbed her still sleepy eyes as she tried to recall how she landed in a fancy-looking room. And just like lightning, everything came rushing back with full force. From the wedding to the reception to her falling asleep on the sofa while reading a magazine. But, how did she end up on the bed? With a disoriented mind, she scratched her messy brown hair followed by a thud on the door. Lazily, she dragged herself out of bed and slouched to the door. She unlocked it to find two unfamiliar faces, a male dressed casually and a female in office attire but she assimilate the man from th
“This is the bedchamber” Katty spouted as she unlocked a door. Scarlet slowly sauntered inside and her mouth instantly hit the floor at the awing sight. It was luxurious, intimate, serene, sophisticated, fresh, and inviting, Scarlet used all the words she knew that could describe what she saw as walked deeper into the room, admiring the spacious space, it was ten times bigger and nothing she had ever seen before. The designs were soft, using soothing grey and sliver to create a sparkling luxurious feeling.Scarlet saw Morden Chandelier that dangled over the large king-size bed, the floor was carpeted by a plush silvery grey carpet that practically felt soothing beneath her feet. She inhaled deeply, waking up in such a room would be like walking up inside a storm cloud. She nodded her head eulogistically. At least, another good thing came out from this undesired matrimony. “It’s has bee
"Let me out from here, I am not the Omega, why won't you guys fucking listen!!"Seria shrieked for the nth time, hands grasped on iron bars that segregated her from the real world. "You fucking Alphas are so stupid!" she exclaimed but her black hair was unexpectedly yanked from behind, a yelp left her lips before she was pulled back from irons, she fumbled but managed to keep her balance."Hey, why did the fuck did you do that!" she demanded, rubbing her skull. Her cellmate, Bella scoffed, placing her hands on her large hips. "You are not the only Omega here, you are irritating everyone's serenity with all your yelling!" the frantic brown hair omega pointed at the other girls locked up with them, snuggling in the corner, almost as if they wished to wither through the wall, melting into it was far better than this shit hole.Seria gulped. "I know alright but you didn't have to drag my hair like that, I have very delicate hair that shouldn't be touched by the likes of you!" She was sty

When Scarlet and Sara were born, their grandma was able to tell who among them was the special Omega, she did make Scarlet bait for Alphas but the young Omega never knew of such till the day she was taken by Alpha Silvester.Their grandma had protected Sara and Zelena thought she was doing the right thing when she went to Mara with the baby and gave her a cheque which she obviously didn't need.Mara had left with the baby before the Marshalls were killed, however, she knew Zelena gave birth to twins, she had helped Zelena's mother hide Sara but she still took Scarlet from Zelena to keep her appearance. That night, she found a poor couple, Mr. and Mrs. Stones to take care of Scarlet and they did, they raised Scarlet like their own daughter, and never for once did she feel less. The little boy Zelena saw with Mara was her little son, a half-human boy whom she had after cheating on Eric's father, she gave birth to him without the knowledge of anyone and kept her appearance as Mara, a h
Reid paced from one corner of the room to the other, nearly racking his hand through his hair. How long did it take to deliver a baby? It had been hours since the doctor went inside and Scarlet had been screaming since. He couldn't go inside, he wasn't allowed to. He was the Alpha, why was he being restrained in his own house?Reid was overwhelmed with worry. Perhaps, he should have taken Scarlet to the hospital but Scarlet had insisted on delivering the baby at home because she hated hospitals and nothing was going to make her step in there unless it was beyond necessary."She's going to be fine, you have been waiting for this moment," Hunter placed a comforting hand on Reid's shoulder to stop him from pacing around."I'm worried, it has been hours," Right at his words, the screams finally died down and everyone held their breaths and soon, the sound of a baby crying reached their ears and cheers broke out, especially Reid who jumped into the arms of Hunter, u
Betrayal was the only fervor that wafted and spurted through Scarlet's backbones while being clamped to two fucking pillars and a sacred altar behind her, Scarlet didn't need to be a genius to figure out where they were. They were at where every Alpha would be the minute they get their hands on the special omega. The more she ogled at the person before her, the more she continually marveled at what she had forfeited. Unable to bubble the emotions anymore, Scarlet blurted out. "What the fuck do you think you are doing Silvester. Even if I die here, what makes you think you are going to get away with this?!"Alpha Silvester shrugged, holding his palm out and an exalted dagger was placed by Misty who was standing beside him with a ferocious smirk on her stupid face, Scarlet wished she could punch it off her face and from the dirt of the earth and at the left side of Silvester was Zinan, the man whom she thought was the Alpha of the Lamias but she was wrong, Zinan had always been a front
He grasped the hand of his office chair tightly, showcasing the veins on his hands as they got darker and more visible while he brandished everything in him fighting to snap out and inflict mayhem, that would be disastrous for everyone. Reid knew he was going to lose control, he knew the type of havoc he would erupt over everyone's head if they didn't find the whereabouts of his mate."Alpha,"His bloodshot eyes opened and they drilled through Rhett's skull. The Alpha maintained his posture. "Alpha, there's someone here to see you," he proceededOne thing Reid was sure about his men was they would never bring something as bizarre as the words that left Rhett's mouth, especially in his state if it wasn't vital to Scarlet's case.He nodded and walked out from his office and Rhett moved behind him and together, they arrived at the living room where Alpha Reid abruptly paused as his gaze landed on the lady occupying one of his sofas, sharing the same features as his mate.He scanned her o
Walking round the chair, Misty placed her hands on Reid's shoulders. "You are tensed, do you want me to help," she rubbed against his shoulders and leaned down, letting her breath ghost on his neck. "Like I've always done before Scarlet arrived,"Snappily, Reid twirled, his gaze piercing through her skull which made her step back. "Are you supposed to be here, Misty?" His tone was low and severe that it sent a coolness down Misty's spine."I-i-I..." she hesitated, words hanging in her throat from that sharp gaze. "I'm only trying to help,""I don't need it, get out!" He ordered but Misty remained where she stood."Why are you doing this to me, I thought we had something special, why do you keep pushing me away when I've always been by your side, I helped you when An-"In a snap, Reid was up on his feet, his hand clasping around Misty's neck and his eye went glaring a darker, and slammed her against the wall. "I dare you to complete that sentence!""Alp-ha"Sharply, Reid let go. "Get t
"Scarlet, honey. You shouldn't be doing that,"For the nth time, Mrs. Stone approached Scarlet standing behind the counter, attending to a customer."Mom, you are being paranoid, I'm only standing behind a counter," she beamed at the customer, waving to them. she whirled to her mother and gently nudged her on the shoulders. "Go away now, Mom, I'm fine," as soon as she was gone, she swerved to the next customer, a luminous smile on her face. "Hello, what's your order?" She picked up her notepad, ready to take the order and when she finally glanced up, she found a pair of dirty eyes gawking at her. Scarlet froze for a second, watching as the stranger plopped a gun on the counter before her. Scarlet nearly signed. Why couldn't she go a day without the unnecessary drama, not that she minded but she wasn't in the mood to get messy or stain her parent's restaurant? She hissed. "Do you have the license for that, it's very dangerous to carry around, especially in an open place like this," sh
"You can't keep me here, Alpha Reid is going to find out you took his mother," Mrs. Martin spat, scowling at the face of Alpha Zinan who dragged a little hand chair and sat in front of her with an amused articulation on his face."I can't believe you deluded everyone, you even had me, Mara,"Mrs. Martin bolted, "What are you talking about, who's Mara?" She implored, testing the waters while Zinan had finally lost his last bit of patience and hauled the blonde wig on her hair, revealing black hair beneath. He grimaced and flung the wig to the corner of the room.He smirked at her appalled expression. "I believe you thought no one would find out you have two identities as a Beta and an Omega, Mara, no wonder I had difficulty finding you. You were busy being Reid's precious mother," he verbalized, the words tasting bitter on his tongue. "The last time I saw you, I thought I told my boys to finish you off, I guess they didn't follow my orders,""What do you want, I already told you, over
He waved his hand in front of her face, snapping his fingers a couple of times but earning a sharp glare. He smiled. "Mom"Ms. Martin rolled her eyes and averted her gaze away from her oldest son, gawking at the blank wall of the hospital before asking. "Eric's dead, isn't he?"Silvester sighed, "He's badly injured and has fallen into a coma, his left hand is gone," he replied, waiting to see her reaction but he got none, she continued glaring at the wall while her hands clenched tightly on the sheets."And my mate?"Silvester poked his inner cheek. her mate? His bastard of a stepfather, would he be called cruel if he said he was delighted that the bastard was gone? Compared to the others, he took the blow extremely which had divided his skull. Tsk, what a cruel way to die. "He didn't make it" again, he watched her reaction. It wasn't like she married the lunatic because she liked him, love wasn't even in the question. "Are you not going to ask about Reid? " He inquired expectantly bu
