Chapter 92: APPREHENDED IN THE ABYSS

Mima's POV

The man stepped forward, his handsome face on display as he moved. He had a cream and blue apparel on, and his hair was in long dark locs that fell below his shoulders.

His pasty skin, the same shade as Kia’s, glowed in the dimly lit prison.

“Kia,” he breathed, his voice deep.

Kia took an uncertain step forward, his small fingers gripping my hand tightly. “Daddy?” he whispered, as if afraid the image before him would disappear.

The man nodded, his expression softening. “Yes, my son. I’ve wanted to see you for so long.”

Kia’s fingers twitched in mine, and I knew he wanted to run to his father, to embrace him, but the thick golden bars separating them made it impossible. His father knelt before him, leveling his gaze with Kia’s, and reached out to touch the barrier, his fingertips shimmering against the energy that crackled in the air.

I cleared my throat, breaking the moment. “You called me here for a reason,” I said, trying not to show how intimidated I felt by his powers.

Mima’s POVWe appeared in another realm and it was dark and gory like. There was fire everywhere or was that Lava? The walls seemed as though we were melting and a thought crossed me that it seemed this was a volcano like environment. Perfect habitat for one of destruction. The heat was unbearable and I felt extremely hot but all my focus was on saving Kia. I thrashed against the guard that was holding, my wrists aching from his strong grip. “Let us go!” I growled, struggling harder. The guards ignored me and forced us forward, marching toward an enormous door. The doors pulled open on their own and we walked through. I was still looking around, trying to gauge where we were and the level of danger we were in when they shoved me and Kia to our knees.I instinctively reached for Kia, pulling him close to my side as the towering figure seated on a throne stared down at us.The god of destruction and punishment. His presence alone was suffocating. His dark robes rippled like living sh

Mima's POV My ears were ringing when I slowly opened my eyes to look up. Someone was carrying me in her arms and I couldn't make out who it was. Her long delicate fingers slowly dropped me to the ground and I saw Kia on the other side of her.I kept willing the ringing to stop but it only got louder. I placed my hand on both sides of my head and after a while, the ringing stopped. I raised my head to look up to see the goddess facing the god of destruction head on and from the look on his face, he was scared? The god of destruction's expression flickered between anger and feigned amusement, his dark eyes narrowing at the radiant figure before him. The goddess stood tall, unfazed by his presence, her very being emanating a power that seemed to press against the fiery air of the realm.“You were going to let them leave?” The goddess asked, her voice was calm but there was an underlying annoyed tone. The god of destruction let out a deep, dark chuckle, though the amusement didn't qui

Mima's POVI walked through the dark halls of the hospital.I needed to check up on Julia. It had been a week since my visit to the gods' realm, and despite our best efforts, we had made little progress on training Kia. I had thought it would be simple, considering we had the book as a guide. But the wording and diagrams were cryptic, layered with meanings that twisted upon themselves. Every sleepless night I spent trying to decipher them had left me frustrated and exhausted. And about the news concerning Ria and Kian? We have got nothing. The only good news is that the soldiers are working hard enough that they can now almost beat Beck and Zahra in a one on one. Their group battles aren't strong yet though…My boots echoed against the polished floor of the hospital. The nurses on duty were few, and from my inquiries, it turns out that the doctor is on his break so the whole hospital is just quiet.I reached Julia’s room, pausing for a moment before slowly pushing open the door. Mima's POVWith the little strength I had left, I rolled to the side just as the bat came down with a loud crack against the wooden floor, splinters flying everywhere.Stephanie cursed, stumbling slightly from the force of her missed attack. I used the moment to my advantage, pushing myself up despite the dizziness threatening to pull me under.Stephanie recovered quickly, turning to swing again, but this time, I was ready. I ducked under the arc of the bat, lunging forward and grabbing her wrist. With all the anger and frustration burning inside me, I twisted her arm sharply, forcing her to drop the weapon with a cry of pain.I didn’t stop there. I slammed my knee into her stomach, knocking the air out of her. She gasped, doubling over, but before I could do anything else, I felt a cold, sharp object against my throat.A knife.Stephanie might have lost the bat, but she wasn’t done. Her wild eyes burned into mine as she held the blade close enough that I could feel its bite against m

Mima's POV Something was wrong.I hadn't given the pendant to the lab yet because I wanted the goddess to see it first but I haven't been able to reach her or even get close to her realm at all and I didn't even think of the fact that there are other gods besides her and Kia's dad. I had a whole lot to think about now. We were in danger so why didn't any of the gods think to just solve this? Why was the goddess the only one making an attempt? Was it because she was the one to create our species? And are Kia's powers that great that the God of destruction and punishment wanted him or did he just like to collect things? in this case people? So far, we've not had any progress in helping Kia. Being just five years old, it was hard for him to keep up with training so after a max of two hours, he'd slump to the floor and give up. The soldiers are doing their best though and they've been training nonstop. We have guards dispatched to all the corners of the pack and those that are in char

Mima's POV“As you can see here, the number of tubers, fruits and other crops that we could harvest began to reduce and since I concluded that it could not be the workers, something must be wrong with the soil.” She stood up and tried to touch a potted plant on the floor. I swirled my fingers, bringing the potted plant from her office here since the one she wanted to touch was just an illusion. “Thank you.” She said after finally being able to hold it.She walked over to me and placed it in front of me.“The soil must be dying.”“Dying?” I asked her.“Yes, you see. It came as a shock to me. We always had the soil tested every few months and if we grew cabbage in a particular partch for a while, we switched the crop that would be grown there next. To keep the soil healthy.” I nodded, following what she was saying.“Like I said earlier, something wasn't right so I scooped out of the soil and put it in this pot to grow this plant.” I finally took a good look at the plant. “I chose a

Mima's POV “I need you to run some tests on this and figure out what is wrong with it.” I had left Kia in the pack house with Daria to clean him up and get him in clean clothes. Then walked over to the laboratory with the soil to get it tested. I didn't want to waste any time. I needed to know how to solve this issue. Who knows how long Viktor would stall before he attacks. The man I was talking to looked up at me, stared at me for some seconds and then went back to what he was doing like I wasn't even there. The laboratory was huge with many men and women in lab coats roaming around, dealing with bubbling liquids and what not.“I am talking to you.” I said. A little but harsher this time. I was in a hurry, j still needed to scout the weaponry for anybody that seemed out of place and this man was wasting my time.“I don't know how you were able to get access here but I am not responding to you.” He replied rudely, making me gasp as he sneered and went back to this work.I turned a

Mima's POV I turned around to see Rake staring down at me with a smile on his face. “What are you doing here?” He asked. I smiled at him and then gestured for him to lower his head. “I'm trying to weed out the shadows in every unit. I'll tell you what I've discovered so far later, but for now we have a more serious issue.” I whispered in his ear. Rake frowned and then pulled out a chair to seat on. He turned to me, giving me his full attention.“Tell me.”“Look around and tell me what you notice.” Rake looked around and immediately there was a frown on his face. He must have not caught on to what was going on around because he was focused on me. “What the hell is going on here?” He whispered yelled making some heads turn to us.“Why are they eating in their workspace? Don't they have a cafeteria to cater to that? This is highly dangerous, eating in the presence of where toxic materials are.” He said to me and I nodded. “That's exactly what I thought too. Mima's POV "I work for those that kidnapped you." She said. Her reply shocked me. I would have never thought that those are the people she worked for. "I don't understand..." I commented and she looked at me with empty eyes. "I'm not human. I at least was truthful in that part. Viktor and his people made me. Those people are also Viktor's people but they want the woman in the prophecy for different reasons." "What are their reason?" I asked and she seemed sceptical to tell me."Viktor wants the powers for himself. He wants to take the power for him while the others want to sacrifice her to their God for them all to have more powers. So it's more like one wants all for himself and the others want for themselves." I nodded understanding what she meant. So I was basically in trouble from two groups then. "Do the sacrificial people know?" I asked her."Know about what?" She replied, looking confused. "About Viktor's plans." "They don't... I don't know how Viktor convinced them tha

Mima's POV Her body shook as she vigorously shook her head. I looked to one of the guards, give me the key to her cell.He nodded and began to go through his keys."NO." She yelled. "Don't let that psycho bitch in here. She would kill me." She said, seeming hysterical. She stood up and rushed to the end of the gate of her cell, closer to where the guard was. "You can't do it. She'll kill me. See what she did to my hand." She raised her hand, shoving it in his face but the guard did pay mind to her still shuffling for the keys. She grabbed him and he turned quickly, raised the stun gun I didn't know he was holding and zapped her."Stay back you dirty bitch." He said, a little undertone of amusement in his voice. All I saw was red. Before I knew it, I was in front of him and slapped him across the face eating gasps from the other inmates."Who the hell legalised stun guns for you in the prison cell? Aren't the silver coated chains and the guns in your hands enough for you? And those a

Beck, rose from his crouched position and placed his paw on her hand and she turned sharply to him. She smiled at him and placed her other hand over her chest, slowly calming down. "So these shadows... What do they do? Like what are the capable of?" She asked."Well, from all the spies that we have caught so far, we noticed that they're visisbly stronger that werewolves. The spies aren't as strong as the soldiers we fought off the other day though but they're stronger than the average werewolf so imagine how strong the soldiers would be." This freaked her out and I could recognise the girlish side in her under her gothic outfit. "So... What about how I felt towards him?" She mentioned and it didn't take me long to think that one through."I was kidnapped once. By a bunch that I think are

You might think that things aren't just going well for now in your pack, but that's not it. They're in every sector and so far, we caught them in the most important sectors in our pack. The farm, the lab and the soldiers.”The room mumbled, each person looking more concerned than the last, except those two.“How can we believe what you are saying?” One of the Alphas ask.“I knew one of you would ask. I mean, you can't simply believe something this huge and serious without wanting proof.” Rake chuckled. He signalled to Beck and Beck walked out. He dragged in Ria.Stephanie's eyes went wide when she saw her but no one else noticed. Do they know each other?Dylan glanced at her and there is no form of recognition in his eyes.So Dylan is oblivious to the whole thing but Stephanie knows?“This here, is a woman that almost tricked us. Mima's POVThe room went back into discussing with one another and seconds later the man stepped in with a smile on his face. Sheesh, he must really love his daughter. I thought to myself because this brooding man just freaking smiled. I turned to see Brent fidgeting where he stood. He looked like he was uneasy as if something was bothering him.I thought back to last night and maybe being in a room filled with couples was doing so well for him.I sighed as I called out to him."Brent? Are you okay?" His eyes turned to mine sharply and he visibly inhaled. His eyes darted around the room and he seemed to fidget the more. This made me ore worried. "Brent? Is everything alright?" My voice is slightly raised now and it alarms Rake. Rake turned to face us and raised his brow."What's wrong?" He asked me."I don't know. Brent is acting weird." The brooding man was still walking in with his daughter and she hasn't really fully entered the room yet so she wasn't noticeable to us. They w

Mima’s POVI was in my room, petting Kia's head as he laid on my lap. He wasn't too happy that we were busy all day and he had to spend the day at the farm during the meeting with Eve. I thought he wouldn't mind but apparently he prefers to be joined at my hip. Three knocks sounded at the door. "Come in." I called out and Beck walked in. "Hey." He said, guilty rubbing the back of his head as he approached me. I turned my face away from him. "Have all the guests gotten a room to stay in?" I asked."Yes, they have." "Good, you can leave." I told him, still angry at how he had been reacting for the past few days. He's either always angry at something and takes it out on others."I'm sorry... That's what I came here to say. I know I have been acting out of line. My anger has been really bad and..." He takes in a sharp breath. "I just wanted to apologize. I know how much you didn't like that." I turned to face him and looked away. I placed Kia on the bed and walked towards Beck with

Mima's POV “Maybe we should just make lines in front of Rake and I? Men to him. Women to me. Is that fine with everyone?” I asked and they nodded. Stephanie still looked so uncomfortable sitting there. Plus, I found that black pendant in the place she kidnapped me. So she probably knows something about them right? Let's not forget the suspicious people she wanted to sell Zahra to and why Kia was afraid of her. What are you hiding. Stephanie?” I thought as I stared intently at her.“Okay, Alpha's to me. Luna's to my Luna.” Rake repeated and they all got up walking towards the both of us.I seeped my powers into the gloves and got ready to attend to them.“Stephanie.” I called out to her and she flinched. Even Dylan was looking at her weirdly. “Ye–yes?” She replied, trying to look as normal as possible but faking it to that extent isn't fooling anybody. “Why don't you come up first?” “No, no. Let everyone else go first.” She pushed on but I just shook my head laughing.“ If you hav

Mima's POV "Beck!" I yelled out to him, storming into the room with Rake and Zahra close behind.Beck didn’t even flinch. He held Dylan by the collar, lifting him slightly off the floor, his canines bared and his eyes glowing with rage. Dylan, to his credit, didn’t look scared, just annoyed and slightly amused?"Let. Him. Go." I repeated, louder this time, stepping between the two.Beck looked at me and sighed before slowly letting Dylan go and stepping back.“What is wrong with you?” I yelled at Beck but he scrunched up his face and turned away from me.In the corner of my eyes, I see Stephanie running up to Dylan and touching him as a form of comfort but Dylan shrugged her off. Stephanie tried to hide the embarrassment she felt but I was pretty sure that everyone in the room had already seen it. “Can someone explain what the hell is going on or was going on?” Rake asked and one of the men that was part of those trying to separate them spoke up.“Alpha Dylan here thought it was wr

Mima's POV As Zahra closed the door behind us, I gently placed my hands on the woman's chest. My powers stirred, responding to the urgency of the situation. I focused my energy, and a soft, golden glow emanated from my palms as I closed my eyes to concentrate. The woman's wounds began to heal and she stopped coughing.Good, it's working. I focused more and I could feel myself getting weaker. We need information and I had already promised her husband that she'll be healed. I needed to honour that at least. After a while, I could feel that she was better so I stepped back and opened my eyes. The woman's breathing was even now and she looked better."Thank goddess," Zahra whispered, letting out a breath, her eyes fixed on the woman. She must have felt just as burdened as I was.I nodded, my gaze still on our patient. "We need to find out more about her involvement with the Shadows. See if we can extract any information before..."The woman's eyes fluttered open, and she gazed up at u
