Elina hurried through the dimly lit streets, anxiety coursing through her veins. Detention had been dreadful, lasting longer than usual, and now she found herself walking home in the dead of night. The air was heavy with an eerie silence, broken only by the faint sound of her footsteps echoing against the pavement.
“You know peanuts, it would have been better if…if you didn't ditch me,” she said over the phone, rolling her eyes in annoyance. She put her phone on the loudspeaker so she could talk to her friend easily.
“First of all, say my name right… I told you not to mess with that Tessa…she's a snake,” her friend's voice echoed out throughout the space.
“You are useless… I'm taking a shortcut back home,” It was a shame she got into a fight at school, now she was paying the consequences.
“You should be careful, after all, you are … the Alpha's little bride,” her friend said with giggles, Elina let out a sigh and disconnected the call. Of course, she didn't forget that little detail.
“Bitch,” she spat out as she made her way through the thick forest, she couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched. A chill ran down her spine, and she quickened her pace, her heart pounding in her chest. Little did she know, a group of rogue vampires had caught her scent and were trailing her, thirsting for her blood.
“Well, well…look who we have here,” a deep, stern voice spoke just as a tall shirtless man appeared in front of her.
“W-who are you?” Elina asked nervously, sensing a strange aura radiating from him. The foul stench of blood coming from him made her feel nauseous.
“This is our territory little one,” the man said with a smile, Elina fiddled upon seeing fangs “Boys! Our little meat is here…such a lovely smell you have…mmm,” the man kept advancing. Elina knew when to run because now several shirtless men growling circled her.
“Vampires,” she muttered, realizing her opponents weren't ordinary beings. Just as her fear reached its peak, Elina tripped over an exposed root, the pain searing through her ankle. She winced and struggled to stand up, her eyes darting around the darkness.
“Little one…you are specialities,” their eyes glowing crimson with hunger, emerging from the shadows. Elina's heart raced as she assessed her situation. They closed in, their fangs bared, and their pale fingers reached out for her.
“Ahh! Let go of me!” She yelled, struggling to be free. The man who seemed to be the leader grabbed her by the neck, raising her off the ground.
“She's mine,” the man slithered as he attempted to lick the side of her face.
“Ahh! No!” Elina felt her throat tighten with fear, knowing her lack of powers as a witch made her defenseless against these bloodthirsty creatures. She closed her eyes, preparing for the worst, when suddenly a chilling howl pierced through the night air.
“Who dares!” Startled, the vampires turned their attention towards the sound. Elina peeked through her fingers and was astounded to see a large golden wolf standing at the edge of the clearing, its eyes gleaming with intelligence. The vampires hesitated, unsure of the threat the wolf posed. Before they could make a move, the wolf lunged, its teeth sinking into the nearest vampire's arm.
“Damn it bitch!” The vampire man tossed her away, making her land against a tree and fell with a thud.
“Ahh,” Elina gripped her shoulder while she retreated away to hide.
“Wolf…this is my territory…you just…” the vampire man tried to speak but in a split second, his friends were torn to shreds. Even Elina was stunned by the speed of the wolf.
“Fuck!” The vampire man resorted to running, realizing he was facing a formidable opponent. The wolf fought with a ferocity Elina had never seen before, claws slashing and teeth biting, overwhelming the vampires with its sheer strength and agility. It was a breathtaking dance of predator and prey.
“Oh no,” she muttered, wondering who it was. “I should run,” she quickly struggled to get up, this was her chance to run away. However, just then. A tall dark figure blocked her way.
“P-please…let me go…don't…,” she fell to her knees and begged to be spared. The golden wolf was now in human form. What surprised her when she glanced up was that he was wearing a man.
“Impressive entrance,” the stranger murmured, his voice deep and melodious, laced with an air of arrogance. “I hope you're not hurt.”
Elina scrambled to her feet, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment
“N-no, I'm fine,” she stammered, trying to regain her composure. “Thank you… I guess.”
A flicker of amusement flashed across his eyes as he held out a hand, to her surprise. His hand circled her fragile neck.
“P-please…. I…”
“Are you courting death… Little one?” The man asked sternly, Elina sucked in her breath when he pulled her to him and began sniffing her.
“Hmmm, such an unusual scent,” the man groaned as he sniffed her neck, Elina could feel his hot breath on her vulnerable skin. His scent invaded her nostrils, taking over her.
“Who are you?” He groaned as he stopped and looked at her, his gaze penetrating her with an intensity that made her feel exposed, as if he could see through all her secrets. Elina's eyes were tightly shut, afraid of falling prey to the monster.
“Let me go!” She cried out, struggling to wiggle out of his hold. He didn't look like an ordinary wolf. His aura was something else and when.
“You're mine now,” the man muttered as he sunk his teeth into her throat. Elina screamed in agony, realizing how sharp, no, no…wolves never drank blood.
“Vampire?” The thought of it caused her eyes to blur. Her heart raced in fear. Before she knew it, she began disconnecting from reality.
“Alpha,” someone called out, getting the attention of the man, with ease, he moved away from the girl's throat. Blood trickling at the corners of his lips. His eyes shone with disdain at being interrupted.
“The enemies are eliminated,”
“Are you tired of living,” saying that sternly, he tossed the girl back on the ground. With lightning speed, he disappeared from there. The intruder stared at the girl for a while, shaking his head. He also left from there.
As morning approached, the sun rose, shining above the sky. A small, fragile figure curled on the ground covered with leaves. Her luscious blonde hair covered half her face. She stirred in her sleep.
“Elina!” Someone was heard calling to her. “Where are you, Elina!” The voices kept advancing, getting closer.
“Ahh,” Elina reached for her neck unconsciously, it stung so badly. “No,” her eyes flickered open, rubbing them a little to adjust to the harsh rays of the son.
“Elina! Oh my gosh,” before she could regain her senses, someone screamed startlingly at her.
“Mom." Elina called out only to see her cousin rushing to her. It was Violetta.
“What happened to you…we've been looking for you all night,”
“Ahh, h-help me up,” Elina struggled to get up, her cousin was quick to help.
“Why are you here? What happened to you?” Her cousin fired her with countless questions, Elina didn't recall a thing, but why did her neck hurt so badly?
“I don't know…” she couldn't remember, however when she noticed blood on the ground…some images played before her eyes. 'You're mine,' the words echoed in her head suddenly.
“Alpha?” The word escaped her chapped lips, her cousin looked at her in awe.
“What alpha? Elina, don't tell me you're still scared of your future husband,” her cousin said with a frown as they left from there.
Elina swore she met the Alpha. At least it was what she remembered. Either way, she wished not to see him. Who wanted to marry someone as ruthless as him?
“Forget it… I'm starving,” she brushed such thoughts off and longed to get home. She was certain her mother was worried sick.
(Elina)"What happened to you?" "Nothing okay," I said while keeping my best friend at arm's length. "You gotta be kidding…I was worried sick the last two days you didn't show up for school," "Forget it okay, it's not a big deal," I cut her off before she could go into her detective mode and ask me questions. “This… this is a two-way thing… we need to come up with a plan”“I'm not certain… sounds like trouble”“Elina, we are trying to solve this… I mean… W-what if the rascal hurts you” Hazel whispered while glancing around the cafeteria. Many people were eating. Hazel was a pain in the neck. I thought we could come here and have a decent meal after sickening class. Unfortunately, she didn't stop nagging me about different plans to escape my betrothal.“And I say cut it out… I told you about my secret…but that doesn't mean you should lecture me” I whispered back, not wanting anyone to hear our discussion. Hazel was my human friend. We attended the same school and did most mischievo
As soon as I reached my mom's room, I found her going through a few books. My mom was beautiful, calm, and kind-hearted. To my shame, she resembled my sister more than me. Both my sister and Mom had dark hair and dark eyesNo wonder I was called a freak. My hair color and eyes were different from the rest“You came early today… no tests” my mom asked without even turning around. With a smile, I rushed to her and hugged her from behind. “Sweet mother, you know I can't stay away from you,” I said, tightening my grip around her. The reason I didn't want to go was because of my mom and sister. These two meant the world to me. Leaving so soon was hurting me… I had to take care of them both. Who knew what would happen if I left“Young lady, do you need anything?” Mom asked and shrugged me away. Of course, she knew me very well. “Mom…come” Grabbing her hand I led her to the sofa. She sat down gracefully and I did the same. Looking at her, she seemed worried. I wanted to ask but dropped the
Elina was more than happy. Dressed in a black leather mini skirt reaching mid-thigh high with a matching strapless crop shirt. The black ankle boots went with the outfit. The small crop shirt showed off her toned belly, her blonde hair falling to her waist in waves.“Woah!” various screams erupted in the room even though the music was loud. Elina shyly made her way inside the club. The club in particular had an attached hotel. Hazel told her it had rooms where most lovers took shelter whenever they drank more than they should have. She had no idea that Andy was throwing her birthday bash in such a place.“What's up baby girl… looking hot” one of the guys passed commented when she walked right past them.“Hey, Elina… how about a dance” one of them blocked her way. With ease, Elina brushed her hair off her face and looked at the boy busy trying to flirt with her.“Melvin… are you seriously trying,” she said, arching her brows at him. The music was too loud and the many boys dancing with
Thunderstorms brought the ugliest memories, the heavy pounding of rain on the roof made it sound like the roof was about to cave in. The coldness from the wind made it hard for Elina to think."No…let me go!" She screamed her lungs out as she struggled to breathe."Mine!" Growls erupted from the man's blood-filled mouth. Her fragile form was trapped beneath the half-naked man."Ahh! This…this is a mistake…let go!" The icy feeling in her heart extended deep into her bones. No matter how she screamed, begged, and kicked. She was still in the man's hold."Little one ... .you better…keep still," the man moaned, this time he loosened his grip on her, and Elina felt cold fingers tracing on her belly. Sucking in her breath. She recalled that voice."No…no…please…" she pleaded as her eyes opened, it was dark and she couldn't see the person's face. But why was his touch making her feel hot all over?“Ahh!” A loud cry left her trembling lips when her clothes were ripped off her body together wit
“Huh…what the heck happened to you” it was even worse. Something disgusting, which I found when I woke up. I was in a dirty room, lying in bed naked. I didn't recall anything. Nor did I know the cabin I found myself in? The room was small and things were broken and lying all over the floorI was frightened. Afraid of what happened to me. But I saw it was morning. I had to run. To go home before anyone noticed I didn't sleep at home.“Elina… this is terrible” Violet's voice jerked me back to my senses only to realize I had been sitting on the floor weeping like a five-year-old. I was doomed, nothing went right, and now I had to answer to my cousin who happened to find me when I came in.“I… I don't know, okay… I don't know” I didn't know anything. All I recalled was red eyes and nothing else. I tried to recall something to help me understand the situation more… Unfortunately, nothing.“It's dark alright… l-look at this” Violet stammered and turned me towards the mirror so that my back
(Elina)Saying goodbye to my mom was the hardest, my heart was bleeding just the thought of leaving my home.My sister was well awake, for the first time I saw my sister she'd in tears. Even when she woke up in the past and found herself bedridden. My sister never shed a tear. She was my strength and my weakness. Leaving her was not what I wanted“I know okay… I love you very much… but you… you don't have to worry”I said, wiping her tears away. She couldn't speak, but only made sad muffled sounds. I asked everyone to let us alone… so, I could say goodbye to her“I'll make sure to visit you every season” it was hard, seeing her crying over my departure hurt me more than anything“I love you sis” I threw myself in her arms and rested my head on her chest. My arms circled her, I could feel her heart beating in desperation. It was like she was trying to tell me somethingIf only she could talk. Maybe she could tell me what was in her heart. Who attacked her and why was she always afraid.
Walking around the large castle-like mansion. I didn't know what to do. It was in the middle of the night. That lady, I didn't even know her name. Took me to a bedroom. It was on the second floor of the castle. The interior design was dark and Gothic. I didn't understand why I felt goosebumps all over my body just being here. Everything was horrible, I missed my mom and sister. I missed my bed and my little pet deer. I couldn't sleep mainly because I kept waking up, my throat was dry; hence I found myself out of the room and walking down the long dim passageway. It would have been better if they installed some bright lights. The dim ones gave a creepy scenery “Now…where is the kitchen, “I needed to drink water. My throat was dry and hurting. I should have asked that lady to get me some water, unfortunately, I was too nervous to do so. “Oh god… what should I do?” I was lost. Toast and damned because I found myself standing in a place I didn't recall passing through with the lady.
The lady before her was Florence, she wasn't old but with her stern face, she looked scary. She had dark ebony hair tied behind in a neat bun. She wore a black skirt reaching above her knees and a black long-sleeved tuck-in shirt with black. Sandals. Elina didn't know why the presence of the lady gave her chills“Young lady… you must have been exhausted,” Florence said, placing the clothes on the bed carefully. Elina scanned the clothes and then the lady. It wasn't an illusion, she saw everything, “please get ready because breakfast will be in ten minutes” the lady added and straightened up. Elina wanted to protest more, however, seeing how Florence was trying to ignore the situation.“When…when can I meet the Alpha?” Elina said, not sure if it was a good idea. She wanted nothing to do with him. It was good that she was sleeping in her room. It was cozy and spacious. Nothing like her old room back home.“Are you that eager?” Florence asked, sounding cold. Again, the strangest thing ab
Elina)“Elina, what are the stakes for,” Hazel whispered, trying certainly to lower her voice. I was busy stuffing more stakes in my backpack to mind her.“Vampires, you are in the vampire's territory…what do you think,” I said sarcastically and finished packing, I straightened up and looked at Hazel. She was sweating out of fear, but Violet was cool about it.“I…but, I can't kill” Hazel stammered, nearly shouting when Violet placed her hand on her mouth.“Keep your mouth shut,” Violet muttered through gritted teeth. I was wrong, Hazel was a cat.“Come this way and be careful not to draw attention,” I said and made my way down the dark passageway. We entered through a secret entrance, how I found it I didn't know. Even Violet was surprised how I knew there was a secret entrance. But we walked down the dark passageway until we came to an open space.“How can it be so creepy, I feel bugs crawling on my skin,” Hazel whispered and faked a shiver, indeed the place was horrible? How come th
Elina)“Are you certain…it's all the same?” I asked while checking the so-called different spices, I always wondered why Angel was so interested in restaurants. He wasn't needed, the last time I came here. They told me he was in the kitchen preparing for the food critic.“It's different, see the color… it might look the same but the taste and color are quite different,” the head chef said politely. I had to say she was a nice lady, I took a little between my fingers and rubbed it between my fingers before tasting it. It was sweet and tasted very delightful.“Wow, can we make sauce from this…it's perfect,” I tasted more, it was delightful? The lady saw what I was doing and chuckled“Yes, it can, in mustard, and it will taste even more delicious,” the lady said and showed me more ingredients to mix. I was pleased to learn a few cooking tips. I wanted to take interest in whatever the king did.I came to the restaurant to see him. However, I was told he had a few guests, and they were hav
(Elina)I left granny's room to find my earring, however, other than that, I found Florence outside the room. The state I found her in was quite frightening."Did you burn yourself," I asked and reached for her hand when she withdrew it from sight? She was sweating so much as if she was going through pain."Elina, why don't you go back inside…" Florence said, sounding irritated and was about to walk away when I held her back. I wanted to see her hand. The burn didn't look ordinary."Let me see it, who hurt you.. did you burn yourself in the kitchen?" I asked while attempting to get hold of her arm. It was impossible when the lady kept shoving me away. She seemed furious which I failed to understand."That's enough Elina…stop meddling in my affairs!" She made a low yell and pushed me away before I could see and hurried down the passageway. I didn't want to follow her despite how curious I was. I watched her retreating form until she disappeared down the hallway.I didn't waste time but
Elina woke to the morning sunshine and the cool breeze caressing her exposed legs. She stretched a little, enjoying the sensual feel of the sheets against her naked body. A low yawn left her parted lips as she rubbed her eyes a little. She patted the bed and found the side cold. She was aching everywhere. Her messy hair slightly fell over her face, but she brushed it aside. She opened her eyes instantly only to look around and stopped when she saw Angel. He was sitting in a chair near the window, reading a book and wearing just his shorts. The bright sunlight shone on his body, making him glow beautifully. It was a beautiful sight to see, with his slightly long hair and his eyes fixed on the book. He looked bewitching.Elina prompted on one elbow, the sheets falling away exposing her breasts when suddenly. Angel turned to look and caught her about to lower down and get the sheets.“Good morning,” he greeted her in a low tone.“G-good morning,” she replied to his greeting a little awkw
(Elina)It was an exhausting day, I came back and went straight to my room…we were back in the werewolf world.“My lady, do you need anything?” The servant girl said once I walked into the room. I only shook my head and stripped off the coat.“Leave” I waved her off and proceeded to the closet to get something to wear after a hot shower.“What?” I opened the closet and I didn't find any of my clothes, I glanced back and found the girl still rooted in one place, “did anyone remove my clothes or something?” I asked her, she flinched and lowered her head even more, as if she feared me.“M-my lady the queen gave instructions to…to take the clothes to the King's room,” the girl stammered nervously, hearing the king, I didn't know what to do. The servant girl left, and I decided to get my clothes from the King's room. Why would the queen do that? I was aware of just how much that king hated me.I left my room and went straight to the alpha's room. How on earth was I to sleep in his room whe
Elina was angry, after hearing the king and queen Melissa discussing. Hearing him say he would reject her, scared Elina. "It's terrible, how can he do that…" Hazel was furious and she joined in ad began pacing, Elina stopped and shifted her gaze to Violet sitting in the bed surrounded by books about werewolves. "Well, it's legal alright…here it says the werewolf male is allowed to reject his mate if he doesn't like her," Violet read through one of those books. Hazel and I scooped closer to her so we could hear what the books said about an alpha rejecting his mate. "What sort of ridiculous thing is that," Hazel lashed out and snatched the book from Violet. By now my palms were itching and scratching them felt painful. My mind was in reels. "He has to declare it publicly, in front of the entire werewolf clan," Violet added and showed me another book. How do things come to this, in the past I would have danced the entire night hearing this. But for some reason, I felt cold all over. My h
“Mom, she's just an attention seeker,” Gracey whispered with disdain as they watched Elina getting attended to by the doctor. Even queen Melissa was agitated, the entire house was worried and worked up over what happened to Elina. “Shh, don't say that,” Her mom shut her up, even if they had anything bad to say about Elina. It was best to keep it to themselves or say it in private. But she was also not happy seeing how Elina was getting pampered. It was like getting betrothed to the alpha wasn't as bad as she anticipated. Gracey couldn't stand a minute watching Elina; hence she stormed out of the room. She was just happy the werewolf alpha didn't feel bothered about Elina's charade. “Is everything okay, how did she just faint,” Elina's mom asked anxiously. Her daughter was unwell. “Tell us, and we'll do anything to make sure she's alright,” the queen added as well, Elina's life was precious, especially to Angel. If ever she fell ill or if anything happened to her. Angel had to suffer,
Elina woke up at the touch of Angel's hand on her hip. The cool light from a full moon streamed through the window, casting deep shadows throughout the room. She felt his lips on her shoulder, softly exploring. She could feel the heat of his body against her bare back. The hardness of his smooth chest brushing against her back making her curl even more to him. She lay there for a moment, luxuriating in the memory of his earlier passion. Finally, she rolled over to face him. Never in her life did she think she would experience such a level of intimacy. She now understood why lovemaking was so sacred, so different and intimate. She was about to explore and feel things she had never felt before, Elina's arm went around Angel's neck as he moved a little, so he could give her more space. His hands were on her back and her bottom. “Are you afraid now?” Angel asked as he pressed his hand on her back, Elina's lips parted to say something, but she couldn't form words to say to him. Even in the
(Elina)It was truly an alluring sight that I would always remember. His intense azure eyes met mine when he finished torturing me with his kisses and fingers. Goosebumps came rushing in like raindrops unnecessarily with no purpose. I couldn't look away; it was as if I was trapped by those striking amber eyes. "You shouldn't be afraid of me," he whispered while nuzzling his nose against the nape of her neck. I didn't want to lie. But he frightened me, especially when I recalled the first time. How he always had me without permission, without me agreeing to his advances because all he was all about was satisfying his inner monster. He bit down her flesh, leaving red marks all over her that she would forever be reminded of who owned her, body and soul. "Tell me, little one… do you like your alpha?" he asked and ran his hand down her belly and I sucked in my breath. That feeling, I wanted, I could feel my body becoming surprisingly hot, too hot. My fingers were itching for something, som
