His Room

Mayeli edged through the crowd in search of Killian.

She had been asking herself several times why she was looking for him, but she couldn't find an answer. When she couldn't see him anywhere, she gave up. She stood in the shadows silently watching the party and sipping wine. She was starting to feel lightheaded from all the wine she had consumed.

She felt the urge to pee and headed to find the restroom. For fuck sake, where would she find one in this large house, she wondered.

She took the elevator and pressed the third floor, though she wasn't sure where that lead. Build least, she could escape from the noise of the party for a while.

When the elevator door opened, she walked down the hallway stretched in front of her, looking for anything that looked like a restroom.

Her feet felt wobbly, and she quickly gripped the nearest door handle for support. The door gave way, and she stumbled into a large room.

The walls were painted a lovely shade of charcoal green. A large king-size bed with a grey bedsheet was in the middle of the room. Near the bed was a white dressing mirror and a chair. At the far end was a walk-in closet filled with expensive-looking clothes. Grey curtains hung on the room’s floor-to-ceiling windows and a large chandelier hung on the ceiling. Everything about the room sparkled. Whoever lives here must have a very high taste, she thought.

She walked to the white cushion slouched neatly at a corner, and sat down. Her black Zara heels are killing her. She tied her curled hair into a messy bun, before going ahead to take off her shoes and massage her foot.

She was still rubbing her ankles, and contemplating where a restroom would be located, when a glass door which she hadn't noticed earlier, slid open, and a half-naked Killian walked in.

She stood transfixed for a moment, staring. More like ogling his half-naked body.

He had only a towel tied on his waist, and his hair was dripping wet. Her eyes trailed the sleeping hair running from the middle of his perfect chest down to his stomach, and she gulped. All this hotness, one man? Christ!

He ran his hands through his wet, curly hair, and they came back to fall slightly on his forehead. His handsome frowned in confusion as he focused his eyes on her, plump, pink, lower lips.

“What the fuck are you doing here, and…”, his voice trailed off. She noticed his pupils darken as he stared at her. His voice sounded emotionless as usual, but she could detect a glint of vulnerability. was it because of the kiss?

Maybe it was just all in her head, she concluded. Somewhere deep within her, a part of her she was yet to understand, she wanted him to be angry and pissed off after watching her in another man's arms. Too bad for her, he seemed perfectly normal.

“I apologize for taking you unawares, I'm equally surprised to see you here too”, she said, politely, trying to steady her voice.

“What's so surprising about seeing me in my room?” His voice was deep and husky. She noticed he was looking everywhere around the room except at her. Did he find her so unattractive? She wondered.

She had taken extra care to look beautiful for the party, but mainly for him.

“Your room?” His words finally registered in her head.

“You're not deaf”. He had a little frown on his handsome face, and his voice sounded irritated. She noticed his eyes had darkened the more.

“I don't understand how this can be your room. The guests are not allowed to stay over, plus, no one is to go beyond the third floor. You didn't see the rules or you just ignored them”.

“I didn't need them”.

She adjusted her hair. “Well Mr billionaire, no one cares whether or not you need the rules, you have to follow them”.

“And if I don't want to?”

“I don't see you having a choice here”.

“I guess I do”. He rolled his eyes at her and began to walk towards the closest. Was he planning on wearing someone else's clothes or had he stacked this many clothes just for one night?

“And why do you think so?” She asked. She was starting to get irritated by his rude and dismissive attitude.

He ignored her for a while, going through the clothes in the closet. He decided on a white sweatshirt and black shorts, which he picked out. When he had worn the clothes, he turned to her.

“Isn't it obvious?” He asked curtly. From the tone of his voice, she could tell he was angry now.

“I don't see how it's obvious”.

“This is my fucken house. I'm quite disappointed that an ace lawyer like you, couldn't decipher that, with all the hints I dropped”.

Mayeli blinked her eyes. This huge house was his? It could comfortably contain ten adults.

“You live alone?” She fumbled.

He gave her a bored and somewhat irritated look. “I live with Tyse and Truce. Their rooms are the two before mine. What are you doing here?”

Mayeli suddenly remembered why she was in his room in the first place. She was pressed.

“I came to pee”.

“What?”

“You heard me”.

A frown settled on his handsome face, making him look more sexy. “There are about five restrooms downstairs”.

“Is that so? I didn't see any”.

“Maybe because you were too busy getting drunk”. She could hear the anger in his voice.

She gave him a baby face. “I don't know where the restrooms are, and I don't have enough time to find them. Can I use yours?”

Her bladder felt fuller than usual, and the need to pee intensified. She always felt that way whenever she got drunk.

“No!”

“Why not? It's just a pee”.

“No!”

She rolled her eyes. Why was he being such a stingy baby?

“Why not?” She asked.

“Because I don't share my space with just anybody”. Ouch. His words stung.

“I'd be out before you know it”.

“It won't change the fact that you used it. And can you please sit properly?”

She followed his dark gaze to her thighs. She had raised her gown up a bit high to take off, and had forgotten to adjust it. She did that now, feeling very embarrassed.

“I'm sorry”, she mumbled.

“Okay”. Gosh, why was he always so curt?

“Can I use the toilet now?”

“No!”

She ignored him, and headed for the toilet, though she wasn't sure where it was located. A glass wide, transparent glass wall demarcated the bedroom and the bathroom, so she headed for the wall. It slid open the moment she came close enough. Check this out.

When she returned to the room, Killian had a murderous expression on his face. “What do you think you just did?” He barked.

“Pee”.

“Are you sure you can take it, Mayeli?”

“Take what?”

“My anger!” His voice was calm and emotionless, but it sent chills running down her spine.
