Mayeli stared at her reflection for probably the tenth time this morning. She was having her first official meeting with Killian as his company's legal representative.
As much as she tried avoiding him, she couldn't. He just always had a way of getting under her skin.
She was starting to miss him though. She hadn't seen for almost two weeks now, and strangely, it bothered her.
She checked her reflection out again, wondering if she had overdressed. She was wearing a long, corporate, long-sleeved, body hug gown that stopped well past her knees. The front part, along with one of the sleeves was white, while the other was black. On her feet was a pair of white Jimmy Choo heels, while her hands held a matching white purse. She let her long, blonde hair fall in wavy curls down her waist, and applied light makeup. She looked perfect.
She did a little crazy dance, satisfied with her look before going to the kitchen to get breakfast ready.
She finished breakfast, dropped Bryelle off at school, and headed for the office. She was extra early today.
When she reached the office, she worked on a few cases, constantly glancing at her Rolex. She couldn't wait to meet him, and it scared her.
She was in a lovely relationship with Nixen. They had spent the past two weeks almost always in each other's arms. Yet here she was missing Killian. What was wrong with her?
“Did you pack everything?” She asked Kreed, an hour later, standing up to leave the office.
“Yes, May. I packed everything. It's just like every other meeting, calm down”, Kreed said.
He was wearing a well-tailored black suit with a white shirt inside. He had left his curly dark-brown hair in a sexy rough mess. Gosh, do all the men around her have to be so handsome?
“I'm calm. How do I look?” She was probably asking him for the third time.
“You're looking incredible for the fifth time”, Kreed’s eyes were filled with admiration.
“Oh”, she mumbled. She hadn't realiLirealisedmber had risen to five.
She chuckled, adjusting her gown, and walking out of the office. The short slit on both sides of her dress made her catwalk easier.
Kreed ran after her with her bag. He was telling her about a case she had asked him to handle, but she was barely listening. Her mind was on Killian.
They ran into Nixen in the elevator. As always, he looked ravishing. He was wearing a well-tailored, grey, Brioni suit with a white shirt inside. His black hair was in a nice pompadour.
He smiled at her, his sexy hazel eyes raking her body. They had agreed to keep the whole affection thing outside the office.
Kreed looked from Mayeli to Nixen, scratching his head.
“Good morning, Nixen”, Kreed Greeted. I could hear the coldness in his voice. The two men did not love each other.
“Morning”, Nixen replied, barely glancing his way.
They all stood awkwardly in the elevator, silent.
“You're leaving already?” Nixen asked the obvious. They had reached the ground floor.
“Yes Nixen”. She put on her best, cute, innocent girl smile.
“I can drop you off”.
“Thanks, I brought my car”.
“It doesn't matter”.
Mayeli gave him a reassuring smile. The last thing she wanted was for Killian to see him drop her off.
“I don't want to drag you away from work”.
“It's fine then, drive safely”.
She saw the care and admiration in his eyes vividly, not like he had ever tried to hide it anyway.
She thought it was all over when the elevator door opened, but Nixen held her back. Before she could understand what was happening, he crossed the distance between them and placed a soft kiss on her lips.
Kreed glared at him, balling his hands into a fist.
Mayeli stared at Nixen, surprised. What happened to wait until outside the office walls?
“Good luck, my love”, Nixen said, walking out of the elevator.
Kreed remained silent until they reached her car. He didn't know about Nixen and her yet, so Nixen's action must have surprised him.
“Bye”, he mumbled, stretching her bag towards her. She could see he was avoiding her eyes.
She collected her bag, started her car, and zoomed off. He was her assistant, not her elder brother. She tried to convince herself that she did nothing wrong.
A few minutes later, she was in front of Killian's office door, knocking. The amount of admiring glance she got when she walked through the entrance door gave her a bit of confidence. But now she was in front of his door, she had no idea where it had flown to.
“Come in”, Killian's velvet, calm voice called from inside the office.
He barely glanced at her when she walked in, and for an unknown reason, it hurt.
He was going through some papers in his hands, his perfect brows knotted in concentration. He always managed to look stunning.
“Good morning”, she mumbled, nervous. His office was much larger and nicer than she had anticipated. It could comfortably take four large office tables.
“Take a seat”. How rude, he couldn't even acknowledge her greeting.
His face was calm and tender, but she could feel the coldness sipping from him. If there was anyone meant to be angry right now, it was her. He had abandoned her in tMayr hotel room just a fortnight ago, or had he forgotten?
“I see you're quite busy, I can…”, she started to say, but he rudely cut her off.
“I'm done, let's see what you have”.
He stood up and walked to the glass walls of his lovely office, his eyes everywhere around the room except for her. Was he avoiding her or something? She was starting to feel nervous.
“Go on?” He prompted impatiently.
He was dressed casually, not something you'd expect from a CEO on a Monday, but he looked hot! Killian was probably the most stunning, young billionaire alive.
He was wearing a branded, black LV shirt and pants, with matching black, Nike sneakers. An expensive-looking, long black coat lay on the back of the chair he had been sitting on, completing the lovely all-black look. Plus his curly, black hair fell slightly across his face, blending in perfectly with his outfit.
How could he always manage to look gorgeous even without trying?
Mayeli took in a deep breath, trying to focus, but she couldn't. His scent filled the space between them, knocking out her senses.
“You're with Nixen, girl, what the fuck?” She mentally chastised herself.
Taking in another deep breath, she started running him through the documents she had brought with her, occasionally getting “hmms” and “goods” from him.
She was on the last slide of the document, when she felt his breath fan her neck, sending shivers down her spine. An involuntary blush crept to her probably already red cheeks.
She turned back to see him stooped over her shoulders, peering intently at her laptop screen. She hadn't noticed him move from where he had been standing.
“Sorry”, he mumbled, backing away, when he saw the shock on her face. Her subconscious mourned the loss of contact, and his tantalizing scent enveloped her more fiercely.
His sexy ocean-blue eyes held a look of amusement, while his face was masked in a perplexed expression like he didn't understand why she had reacted the way she had. He had not even touched her!
“What's wrong with me!” She mumbled to herself.
Killian stared at Mayeli, trying his best to keep a neutral expression, but deep down, he was glad about how easily her body had reacted to his.He moved away from her and went to sit at his table. The tension in the office was a bit too intense. She continued her explanation, while he watched her. He had been mostly watching her from the beginning, but she had been too absorbed in the presentation to notice. And mostly, he was grateful for that.He couldn't get his mind off the image of her, getting down from her Audi Q5, and walking towards the building. She looked breathtaking. What was that you just said? How did he know? Of course, he had been watching her through his transparent glass wall.To be honest, he had been waiting for her. He still remembered how his heart raced when he set his eyes on her. She just seemed to always look alluring, exquisite, resilient, and graceful.Mayeli had a quality he never saw in any other woman, and it pulled him to her.“She was making out with
Mayeli looked around as they walked into an Italian restaurant.Truce walked towards a table already occupied by a young man. Tyse, CEO of Octavia? Killian's crew seemed to consist solely of billionaires.Tyse looked stunning in a well-tailored white suit, with a white shirt inside. He wasn't wearing a tie, and the first three buttons of his shirt were undone, making him look even sexier. From the look of things, his jet-black hair was quite long, and seeing it packed in a bun brought out the structure of his handsome face. He had a high cheekbone, and thin pink lips, with warm brown eyes that were currently on her.Killian sat beside Tyse, while Truce sat opposite them, gesturing for her to sit beside him. Which meant, she sat exactly opposite Killian. Quite heartwarming.Truce leaned over asking her if she was comfortable, and she nodded.Just like Killian and Tyse, he was stunning. He had curly blonde hair, high cheekbones, grey eyes, and perfect full lips. She spotted a deep dimpl
“You came, Killian”, a little girl said, coming to hug him. She looked about eight years old.“I told you I was coming Kaeli”, he replied, hugging her tightly.“Shaila, look who came by,” she said to a girl who looked just a bit older than her—her sister.“It's been a long time Killian, where have you been?” Shaila asked.“I went to Italy with my mom and dad for a two-month vacation”.“That sounds so cool. Why didn't you take me?” Kaeli asked.“I wanted to Kaeli, but my mom said you couldn't come”.“I missed you so much Killian, don't you ever leave me again”.“I won't Kaeli, I promise”.“Why do you call her Kaeli? Her name is Mayeli”, Shaila said.“Her name is Kaeli too, and I prefer it to Mayeli”.“Just say Mayeli”, Sophia said, laughing.“It's time to go, Mr Killian, you're running late for your piano lesson”, a tall man, who looked like his bodyguard said.“I don't want to go, I want to stay with Kaeli”, little Killian protested.“I'm sorry young master, but we have to leave now”,
Mayeli's thoughts were running wild. Why had he been calling her name in his sleep? Did he like her too, or perhaps did he remember her? After lunch yesterday with his friends, she had come to terms with the fact that she still loved Killian. She could never let go of him. But now here he was confusing her again. First, he was making out with another woman, in broad daylight in his office, and now he was calling her name in his sleep? Killian was one complex man, she had to admit.Who was she to judge him though? She was dating Nixen, and she had been doing things with him. Not in the sex department, but they had kissed and made out several times, to be honest almost every time. Still! She was so fucken jealous right now.The first time Nixen had kissed her, she had waited for the fire. That fire that burned through her veins when Killian touched her. He didn't even need to kiss her to light her up. With Nixen it was just sweet and ordinary, but with Killian…“It wasn't you”. Killian
“Bry, do you want more juice?” Mayeli asked her two-year-old daughter. They had spent the night in Nixen's mansion, and now they were having breakfast in his large dining room, overlooking the poolside. Nixen's mansion was breathtaking. It consisted of six large bedrooms, two large, spacious living rooms with high ceilings and lovely chandeliers hanging down, a game room, a rooftop pool, and a large. The walls were painted garden. The walls were painted a lovely shade of cream, giving the house a homey feel.“No”, she pouted. She was all dressed for school, and her curly black hair was packed in a ponytail. She looked super cute as always with her pouty face.“Can I know why baby, are you okay? Did mummy do something wrong?”She looked at Nixen for support.“What's wrong, my love?” Nixen asked. He always made an effort to be the perfect father figure Bryelle needed even if she hadn't told him who her biological father was, and Mayeli appreciated that fact.“Uncle Nixen won't bring Unc
“The case is hereby dismissed”, the judge said.“We won!” Kreed screamed doing a crazy dance. Mayeli gave him a “what a baby” look, gathering her things. She looked around for Killian for probably the hundredth time, but he was nowhere to be found. She sighed disappointed. So he hadn't even bothered to show up.“Since we won, I'm buying you lunch”, she said, walking away.“You must be in a perfect mood”, Kreed replied, when he had caught up with her.“I buy lunch all the time Kreed”.“Yeah like once in two months”.“Whatever”.A few minutes later, they were seated in one of her favourite restaurants.“How's Sonia doing?” Mayeli asked. Sonia was Kreed's girlfriend, a doctor at one the biggest hospitals in England.“Great. She misses you a lot. She would have today but had too many patients”. “I'd try coming around next weekend”.“Can I ask you something Mayeli?” Kreed’s tone sounded serious, making her worry a bit.“Sure. What is it?”“Do you like Nixen?”Mayeli choked on her pineappl
Mayeli sat on one of the benches scattered around the children's park, watching Bryelle play with the other kids. Her mind was on Killian. For a moment, she had thought he had forgotten her, and it had pained her deeply. Now she knew he didn't forget her, she didn't know how to feel. One part of her was happy and the other was scared. What if he found out about Bryelle? She had promised her mother that she would tell him about Bryelle when it was time, but today, he had thrown that question at her, and she had outrightly denied his claims. Why? She didn't know. What would she say to her baby when she was old enough to ask questions? Would she shield her child from her father? Her relationship with Killian was already a very complicated one. She didn't think it was necessary to add more complications to it. What was she thinking two years ago?She tucked her curly blonde hair behind her ear. She was Mayeli, the stunning, gorgeous lady. Brooding about a man was not something she did of
“Have you been here?” She asked, biting on her sexy lower lips.Killian couldn't take his eyes off the beautiful woman before him. “Yes, I watched you walk into the mall”, he replied truthfully. He had been shopping with Nixen and Bryelle when she walked into the mall with her friend.Nixen and Bryelle hadn't seen her because they were too distracted arguing about what each other's ice cream was made of.He silently excused himself from his company and followed her at a distance. He knew he should be staying away from her, but he couldn't.His jaws had almost dropped when he saw her in the dress she was wearing now. It showed off every perfection of her gorgeous body, and he couldn't stop staring. When she had gone to find the mirror, he gave her friend and the attendant his best charming smile, muttering a vague reason for wanting to see her. It walked though, as always. He had no idea why he followed her, but he didn't regret his decision.“Why did you follow me?” She asked, toilin
Mayeli sat by the pool of her hotel with her elder sister, Shaila, enjoying the warmth of the sun. Shaila was wearing an orange H&M bikini, while Mayeli was wearing a black one. They had both packed their long hair into a high messy bun.The children were with their grandmother so they had little free time on their hands.Shaila was tall and beautiful just like Mayeli, but with long, straight black hair instead. She had taken my father's hair colour, while Mayeli had taken my mom's.She had an oval-shaped face with high cheekbones, a pointed nose, and dreamy grey eyes just like my mom’s. She exuded a jovial and charismatic aura that drew people to her, and as a renowned model and fashion designer, it helped her career a great deal. Mayeli loved her sister dearly, but their busy schedules and distance prevented them from hanging out often. They cherished the few occasions they could be together like this.Shaila was married to an Italian, handsome actor, Petro, and they had two kids.
“Mom, can Uncle Killian come with us?” Bryelle asked, giving Mayeli a baby face.“What?” “Can Uncle Killian come with us?” She repeated.Mayeli shared a look with her mom, speechless. She didn't know how to tell her baby that her request was impossible to grant.Mayeli, Bryelle, and her Mom are seated on her king-sized bed, laid with cream sheets, in her spacious peach-coloured bedroom. Everything about the room is painted cream and peach, giving it a homey feel.Bryelle is turning three in a week, so Mayeli decided to go on a two-week vacation to Croatia with her mom and Bryelle. She just announced the news to both of them.“He can't my, love, he has a lot of work to do”, Mayeli's Mom replies to Bryelle.Mayeli gave her mom a grateful smile, but got a stern smile that said “How long would you keep this a secret?” She sighed, and looked away, not in the mood for one of mothers constant rebukes.“When are we leaving?” Her mom asked.“Tomorrow”, Mayeli replied brightly.“Yey!” Bryelle
“Hey Tyse”, Nixen said casually, shaking hands with him.Mayeli stared at them, shocked. Tyse is a renowned multi-billionaire. Yeah, Nixen is, rich, but not up to Tyse, Truce, and Killian's level.“How're you doing bro”, Tyse beamed. There's a bright, genuine smile on his face, but Nixen's smile looks forced. Mayeli wondered why.“I'm good. It's a pleasant surprise to see you here”.“I brought Mayeli, but I'm on my way now”.Mayeli noticed Nixen's hands tighten around the bags he was holding. His smile evaporated.“Oh, I see”, Nixen mumbled, glancing at Mayeli.“I better get going”, Tyse said. He had probably noticed the change of expression.“I'll walk you to your car”, Mayeli said, following Tyse.“I think walking me to my car was a bad idea. Nixen didn't look happy about the fact that I brought you”, Tyse said, running his hands through his hair. Gosh, he was so handsome. After Killian, he was the finest man Mayeli had ever seen.“It's fine. You only helped”, She reassured him. So
Mayeli stared at Killian. How could he? How could he do that to Diora, while making out with her?He kept a nonchalant expression, showing no signs of guilt. “What did you do to her?”He looked at her with something close to anger and irritation. “I didn't do anything, Mayeli”.Truce looked at both of them.“Am I missing something here?” Truce asked.“I don't know, ask her?” Killian yelled.Truce turned to Mayeli. “What's wrong, Mayeli?”“Ask your friend”, she screamed, walking away. She saw Truce throw her a quizzical look, and then swiftly ask Killian what was happening. She waited for Killian to reply, but she heard nothing other than a banged door. She hissed and entered the elevator. So, he had made good his threats. She thought of reporting him to the authorities, but she had no proof yet, plus she didn't want the circumstances surrounding Mayeli's birth to go public. Of Course, surely it would if she reported the matter to the authorities. It involved two prominent figures a
Killian stared at Mayeli’s stubborn expression, not knowing what to do. She looked a bit scared by his words, but she maintained a defiant look. She had a face that reminded him of Becky G.She bit on her full, lower lips, and pouted stubbornly. “I hardly deserve a beating for using your toilet”, she pointed out.“Against my will”.“It's just a toilet”. She folded her arms and sat on his bed. “You look gorgeous in white and black though”.His eyes bulged at the socket. What did she just say?She stood up from the bed and walked to where he stood, planting her small frame in front of him. She had a coquettish smile on her face. Gosh! She was tempting him.“Maybe I can handle your anger, so bring it on”. He stared at her slightly apart, pulp, pink lips, and a sensation ran through him.He was certain it was the alcohol talking, but it didn't stop him from feeling the day he was feeling. He turned away from her and walked towards his balcony. He wasn't sure he could resist her when she w
Mayeli edged through the crowd in search of Killian. She had been asking herself several times why she was looking for him, but she couldn't find an answer. When she couldn't see him anywhere, she gave up. She stood in the shadows silently watching the party and sipping wine. She was starting to feel lightheaded from all the wine she had consumed. She felt the urge to pee and headed to find the restroom. For fuck sake, where would she find one in this large house, she wondered. She took the elevator and pressed the third floor, though she wasn't sure where that lead. Build least, she could escape from the noise of the party for a while. When the elevator door opened, she walked down the hallway stretched in front of her, looking for anything that looked like a restroom. Her feet felt wobbly, and she quickly gripped the nearest door handle for support. The door gave way, and she stumbled into a large room. The walls were painted a lovely shade of charcoal green. A large king-size bed w
Mayeli felt apprehensive as she packed her Audi in front of the party venue. Gosh, just how big was this house? She wondered. Whoever owned the place must be swimming in six figures, she reckoned. The building was painted white. It had huge, finely crafted pillars in front of it and a large fountain at the centre. Everything about the house spoke affluence from the interior design to the fleet of cars packed in the garage.Mayeli checked her Rolex. She was thirty minutes late, and from the sound of voices and music emanating from the mansion, she was certain the party had started. She did this often, except when it was an important case in the courtroom. She always arrived at work or events thirty minutes late. It was her own way of taking control, making them wait. She felt a bit nervous though. Nixen was going to introduce her to his friends. It wasn't something she was scared about, but a part of her felt she would see Killian, though he had told her he wasn't going to be here toda

Mayeli stared at him like he had gone knots. “You came for me? After sending that message. You have the nerve to show yourself to me?” she yelled. People were turning towards that direction, but she didn't care.“I didn't send the message,” he said, raising his brow slightly. His blue eyes looked angry.“Are you going to keep denying it?”“Why are you so certain it's me?” He ran his hands through his lovely hair, letting out a frustrated sigh.“Because only you and me fucken know about two years ago”.“You said your baby was not the product of the affair, so why does it bother you so much? Besides, I'm a celebrity. People follow me around. Someone else might have seen us enter the hotel”.“Please, don't give me that bullshit explanation. And I'm bothered because it fucken hurts to be threatened by you”.“I didn't do it, Mayeli!” His voice was raised now, and she could tell he was getting angry, but she didn't care.“Stop fucking denying it!”“Fine. I did it”, he mumbled in a broken v
