Jason walked into the lobby to meet Alyssa to warn her. “Cancel all of my appointments today, Melissa.” He said walking by at first, but then looked up to see her crying. He paused knowing he would regret asking her what was wrong. “Why are you crying?”
“I made so many mistakes, Jason. I lost Diamond and now you for that man, and he…” Ja
CHAPTER 20“Miss Sampson, I hope I’m not intruding.” He bowed low trying to be courteous, but coming off extra creepy. “I’m Dan Sanders.” He held his hand out for her to grab, but Alyssa refused to touch him. “Leave Mr. Sanders. I’m not sure why you’re here.” Her lip trembled, but she wouldn’t give in to his scary act. Dan only smiled. “I see why my son is smitt
CHAPTER 21Jason barged into Dan’s office with veins popping out of his neck from anger. “Where is that son of a bitch!” He screamed at the security guards that surrounded the place. Two of the biggest guards grabbed him by his arms as Jason punched them in the face, then kicked as they held him up, grabbing him by his head. He screamed throwing a man that was behind him over his shoulder and down to the ground. Another kicked towards Jason’s chest, but he dodged by leaning forward punching the man in his throat.
CHAPTER 22The next morning Jason woke with the meanest hangover he ever had in his life. It wasn’t so much as the alcohol, but the added heartbreak he never felt. “Jason!” His eyes fluttered open as he heard the voice of a familiar soul. “Janet?” He sat up quickly to be tackled by her. “Fuck sis what the hell you doing here?” he asked once she released him enough so he can sit up. He held his head once he sat completely up. “Who let you in?”
CHAPTER 23“If I do take this prostitution job, won't I have to worry about getting pregnant, or worse Stds?” Janet asked, taking a stab at her strawberry on her pancake. Jason took her to their favorite place for breakfast, IHOP. “That’s why you get people screened. We have the little machine down in the basement area. A drop of blood is all you will need to test. As far as pregnancy is concerned, I doubt you will be able to do anything like that with you being cursed and such.” Janet laughed a little at his joking tone. “Like you’re not cursed. I
CHAPTER 24A couple of weeks had passed by and still Jason hadn’t heard any word from Alyssa. He was starting to believe she had moved on and forgot about him, but he wouldn’t give up. He texted her with his new phone, then looked up to see Melissa walking in. “Okay I have the list for the Christmas party on Saturday. Here are the investors that Dan personally invited.” Jason took the list. “Most of these are construction contractors. No one out of the ordinary.”
CHAPTER 25Janet, Valerie, and Yolanda were all in Jason’s room helping him get dressed for the Christmas party, drinking wine and laughing together. “Jason, no you didn’t go running through the park nude.” Valerie laughed. “I was like eight. How do you even remember that, Janet?” He smiled, tying his tie. Janet grabbed his shoulders behind him while he stood in the mirror. “It’s my job to tell embarrassing stories to your friends Jason. One day when I have friends you can do the same.” She replied, helping him tie the tie.
CHAPTER 26“What are you doing here?” Jason closed the door firmly behind him in the conference room, staring at Alyssa like she was the only woman in the world. “Why is everyone asking me that? I got an invite.” She pulled her card out of her purse again. Jason pulled the invitation out to read with eyes wide with curiosity. “Who gave you this?”“So
CHAPTER 27Wilson walked up to them as they danced, interrupting. “Sorry to cut in. Can we talk?” Jason looked down at Alyssa afraid to leave her, but nodded as he could see the urgency of it in Wilson’s eyes. “Wilson you remember Alyssa right?” he introduced. Wilson bowed. “Yes, pleasure to meet you again.” He looked back to Jason. “Let’s talk somewhere more quiet. I won’t steal him for long.” Alyssa nodded as Jason and Wilson walked off. She went to the bar and ordered a drink while she waited.
CHAPTER 66“Come in.” Dan yelled out as Bianca walked in. “You have my info I asked for?” She just walked up and handed him a piece of paper. “I don’t know why my mother hid this from me, but this is who wanted me to curse you.” He opened the piece of paper and his eyes went wide with shock and fear. “It doesn’t matter now, he is locked away.” He replied throwing the paper away. “I can’t worry about him right now I have an opening to get ready for.”
CHAPTER 65 Kathy and Keisha partied with drinks in their hands as they danced on the dance floor while Janet sat at the bar drinking, thinking about the day she had. Dan’s bullshit had always followed them , but now she was more on his side then ever. They found out who interrupted the funeral. Melissa’s sister Julissa would now be another thorn in her side as they tried to put this business back on track. “Child you look like you could use another drank. Bartender.” Janet looked up to who was talking. A skinny man sat beside her with a feminine swag, fu
CHAPTER 64 The next night Dan walked in to see Janet at her office space in his house, working over papers. “It’s getting pretty late Janet. You alright?” She looked up, not even startled he walked in on her. She sniffed as she looked up as tears fell on her paperwork. “Yeah I’m fine.” She lied, wiping her eyes. Dan sighed, walking over to her. “Look, I know I have done some pretty shitty things in the past, but I see your determination to make things right and it has encouraged me to do the same. I want us to able to talk about anything. To be how
CHAPTER 63Janet walked up to the apartment, hands shaking and her heart in her throat. She felt overwhelmed walking up to talk to Alyssa’s family house. A part of her felt guilty for not taking care of her like she should have and she hoped they wouldn’t judge her once they heard the story. A woman opened the door looking slightly different from Alyssa, but her face was longer and she was slightly bigger. “Who are you?” She asked. Janet placed on a smile as she held her arms out for a hug to greet the woman. She hugged her, confused still as she waited for the respo
CHAPTER 62Dan walked into the hospital bloody and hurt as he walked over to Janet. She saw him and instantly ran over to him hugging him. “What happened?” She looked at his eyes, seeing the hurt in them. “Where is Jason?” Dan shook his head. “Frank killed them. Alyssa too. I tried to stop him…” Tears fell down Dan’s eyes as he played the role for her to believe. Janet’s emotions went numb and time stood still. Her brother being dead was something she wasn’t ready for. “No.” She said almost falling out until Dan caught
CHAPTER 61Jason gasped as the shot fired again, sending Wilson to the floor. Blood splattered all over the walls and in Frank’s face as Frank looked shocked as Wilson fell on the floor. “NO! Wilson you dumb bitch! See what you made me do?” He turned to Dan then. “See what you made me do?” Dan held his son a little bit closer. “Daddy why did you kill uncle Wilson?” Casey cried. “Shut up Casey and come to me now.” Frank held the gun up to Dan again. “Release my son or you will be next.” Dan released the little boy holding his
CHAPTER 60“Wilson why are you hesitating? Shoot him or untie me.” Jason yelled. “He won’t do that Jason.” Then Dan walked in holding the little boy’s hand. Frank’s eyes widened. “Casey!” “Daddy!” The little boy tried to snatch away to go to Frank but Dan held him back, holding his gun to the little boys head. “Co
CHAPTER 59Dan walked into the house late at night, scoping his surroundings while staring in the window of the mother of Daniel’s home. Something didn’t settle right inside Dan’s stomach as he entered the home through the kitchen of the opened window. He was quiet and skilled as he’d broken into many homes before in his younger years. As he walked through the quiet home with the kids off to bed, he noticed everything he could about Daniel and Elizabeth.
CHAPTER 58The fear running down Janet’s spine couldn’t ever be replicated. Antonio was now gone from the room, leaving her alone. The building was far too big for her to search by herself. Her immediate thought was her twin. She waited in the open lobby pacing back and forth until they arrived. She ran to him. “Are you okay?” Alyssa asked, as she hugged her tight. “We need to go up the stairs to the roof. That’s where I told Officer Williamson to go last night.” He began to walk quickly to the elevator as the women followed.
