A couple of weeks had passed by and still Jason hadn’t heard any word from Alyssa. He was starting to believe she had moved on and forgot about him, but he wouldn’t give up. He texted her with his new phone, then looked up to see Melissa walking in. “Okay I have the list for the Christmas party on Saturday. Here are the investors that Dan personally invited.” Jason took the list. “Most of these are construction contractors. No one out of the ordinary.”
CHAPTER 25Janet, Valerie, and Yolanda were all in Jason’s room helping him get dressed for the Christmas party, drinking wine and laughing together. “Jason, no you didn’t go running through the park nude.” Valerie laughed. “I was like eight. How do you even remember that, Janet?” He smiled, tying his tie. Janet grabbed his shoulders behind him while he stood in the mirror. “It’s my job to tell embarrassing stories to your friends Jason. One day when I have friends you can do the same.” She replied, helping him tie the tie.
CHAPTER 26“What are you doing here?” Jason closed the door firmly behind him in the conference room, staring at Alyssa like she was the only woman in the world. “Why is everyone asking me that? I got an invite.” She pulled her card out of her purse again. Jason pulled the invitation out to read with eyes wide with curiosity. “Who gave you this?”“So
CHAPTER 27Wilson walked up to them as they danced, interrupting. “Sorry to cut in. Can we talk?” Jason looked down at Alyssa afraid to leave her, but nodded as he could see the urgency of it in Wilson’s eyes. “Wilson you remember Alyssa right?” he introduced. Wilson bowed. “Yes, pleasure to meet you again.” He looked back to Jason. “Let’s talk somewhere more quiet. I won’t steal him for long.” Alyssa nodded as Jason and Wilson walked off. She went to the bar and ordered a drink while she waited.
CHAPTER 28Wesley and the cleanup crew walked in Sunday morning ready for the overtime pay. No one was there to open the door for them, but the security guard, Frank. “Hey guys, you’re right on time. CHAPTER 29 Jason waited in the interrogation room for two hours before officer McGee walked in frantically. “Confess you son of a bitch, we have your hand prints on her wrist.” Jason glanced up looking tired and depressed. “I didn’t kill her.” Officer McGee hit the table. “Stop lying! You have been caught so just confess!” “I didn’t kil
CHAPTER 30He quickly saw the video and cursed. “Shit.” Jason stood ready to attack him if he was uncuffed, as the table moved as he reached for him. “You killed Abagail you son of a bitch!” Officer McGee looked busted. “What the fuck were you doing at this fashion show, Officer McGee?” Fairchild walked up to him with anger. “Not only are you the last person caught on camera with Abagail, you went to question Miss Sampson on your own without permission. Dan smirked reaching over the throne to grab her neck. “You fucking lied to me.” He squeezed hard, making her gag for air. The guards ran in to obtain him just to be held back by guns from Dan’s bodyguards.
CHAPTER 32 Jason knocked on Alyssa’s door first before he confronted anyone. He needed to talk to her and gain some sanity. She opened to see the exhaustion in his eyes. “Jason what happened?” He pulled her into his arms as he walked into the apartment. “I just need you right now.” He sat on the couch placing her in his lap. “I have had the worst day ever I think, right next to the day you threw me out of here.” She grabbed his face, gently. “What happened?” Jason sighed.
