Everyone thought that Charlie was insane but Charlie did not care at all.

On the way back home, Charlie explained to Jacob that he need not worry because the one hundred million dollars that he spent at the auction had already been authorized by the Quinton family. Charlie was afraid that Jacob would be frightened and worried about what the Quinton family would do to them.

After arriving home, Charlie began studying the clam immediately since Claire had not returned home from work yet.
