3. Mr. Cold's Varied Attitudes

Kimberly had just arrived at her house. She opened the door and entered the house. Alice, a middle-aged woman, worked at Kimberly's house. The family had employed her for a long time, since Kim's late mother was still alive.

"Alice, are you awake?" asked Kimberly.

"Mr. Bill Zion is in the backyard," Alice replied.

"Okay."

Kimberly walked into their backyard. She opened the connecting door and saw the old man sitting in a wheelchair looking at the flower garden Kim's mother had planted.

The girl took a step closer to Bill. "Hi Daddy," Kim greeted as she hugged Bill's neck from behind.

"Hi Sweety, Are you home yet?" Bill asked.

"Yes, just now. How's Daddy?" Kimberly asked.

"I'm better," he replied.

"Don't get too tired and get plenty of rest," Kimberly said, making Bill nod his head.

"How's the new job going? It's amazing that you've been able to get into the very famous GM company in the UK," said Bill.

"Maybe it was meant to be," Kimberly chuckled.

"Then go take a shower; your scent is already mixed with car fumes and sweat," Bill joked, making Kimberly laugh.

"Okay, Dad. I'll go in first, then we'll have dinner together," Kimberly said.

"Okay."

Kimberly went into her room. She took off her bag and coat. Kimberly's mind drifted back to the shoes her new boss had given her.

"That guy is really mysterious and unpredictable," she muttered with a smile. The girl went to the bathroom and took off all her clothes. She got into the bathtub and soaked her tense muscles in the warm water to normalize them.

Danial was still busy with his work in the mansion office.

"Sis," called Rain, opening the door to the room and making Danial turn his head towards her.

"What's wrong?" asked Danial while looking at his brother.

"I'm bored," Rain complained.

"You just call Dilbara to keep you company while you're here," said Danial.

"Brother Dilbara is busy. Umm, brother..." Rain walked up to Danial.

"What's wrong, Rain? Brother is busy," Danial replied.

"Umm... I can borrow Dimitri for a day," said Rain, making Danial frown.

"Dimitri?" asked Danial, making Rain nod her head repeatedly. "He's busy. Find someone else."

"Ahhh, Brother. So stingy," complained Rain. "So, hurry up and get married so I can have friends," Rain complained. "

"Even if I get married, I won't let my wife be your nanny." Rain sneered at Danial's words.

"Brother is stingy. You know I'm in London," Rain said.

"Go home."

"You're kicking me out?" screeched Rain when he reached the door.

"No, no. It's your wish." Rain once again snorted in annoyance and walked away, leaving Danial alone.

Danial was back to work, focusing on the laptop screen in front of him.

Dimitri entered Danial's room. He saw that his boss was busy with his work.

"Here is one more proposal for you," Dimitri said with a smile. Danial looked at Dimitri with a frown on his forehead.

"Again?" asked Danial, making Dimitri nod his head.

"Like I said, the old man won't stop until you get married," said Dimitri.

"I'll never get married."

"Come on, boss. You have to think of a replacement for the head of the Gonemanus family later," Dimitri said.

"I'm 32 years old, and I think I'm still capable of shouldering the responsibilities of a patriarch for the next 30 years," exclaimed Danial, visibly annoyed.

"You are currently in the running to become crown prince. You will have to face off once again with Peter, who also has a son. Both parents are vying to make you their son-in-law," said Dimitri.

"I'm not interested in being crown prince, minister, or president. It's tiring," says Danial.

"If you want to stop these parents, get married," Dimitri said.

"You think getting married is easy. I don't have a girlfriend yet," Danial replied, lowering his voice slightly at the mention of one.

"That's why I'm looking for a girlfriend; I feel at home alone." Dimitri was silent for a moment. "Is it possible that you still hope that woman will come back?"

Deg

Danial did not answer and chose to turn her face away.

"Haishh! It means it's true that you still expect that woman. Did you forget about the scar on your chest?" Dimitri quipped.

"Did you come just to lecture me?" exclaimed Danial, changing the subject.

"No, no, no. I also wanted to remind you that this afternoon we will meet with Mr. Franki, and tomorrow night there is a welcoming party for Mr. William's daughter, who just finished her studies in America." Dimitri explained. Frankie, tomorrow night we will have a welcome party for Mr. William's daughter, who just finished her studies in America," Dimitri explained.

"You go."

"I can't, boss. I have an appointment with Marcelo and Darren. Don't take up my rest time," Dimitri refused.

"This is the first time an assistant has refused a boss's order," Danial said irritably.

"What kind of boss always takes away the rest time of his subordinates?" protested Dimitri, who was now sitting on the sofa.

"Ah, yes. I understand if you're hesitant to go because his children have always offered you. Why don't you bring your beautiful lawyer there to accompany you?" Dimitri exclaimed.

"That woman?"

"Your mention of that woman already makes you care for her a little," Dimitri quipped.

"I don't care for her."

"So what? She bought new shoes to replace her broken heels. Wow, that's really the best achievement in five years," Dimitri said.

"Why don't you look like your quiet father?" exclaimed Danial, who was at a loss for words.

"I'm afraid I look like my mother; you've had enough."

"Go and get that woman."

"That woman? Who? She has a name," teased Dimitri.

"You're such a bitch, Dim." Dimitri could only chuckle. "Call her Miss Kimberly."

"Okay, boss."

There was a knock at the door, and Danial opened it.

"Umm. Mr. Danial called me." asked Kimberly after knocking on the room's door.

"Please have a seat."

Kimberly sat across from Danial.

"Did you get my email?" Danial asked.

"Yes, I did. There were 25 emails this morning from you, and I opened them."

"So?"

"Umm, I just read them," Kimberly replied with a clumsy smile.

"Finish all the contracts today. That's for tomorrow's meeting," Danial said without looking at Kimberly.

"To... today?"

"Yes, can you?" asked Danial, staring at Kimberly with a sharp gaze.

"Yes, sir. I can do it," Kimberly exclaimed.

"Okay."

Kimberly was still sitting awkwardly in her place. She looked at Danial, who was now back to working on his laptop.

"Umm... if there's nothing else to talk about, I'll excuse myself, sir." Kimberly got up from her seat and walked towards the door.

"Wait..."

"Yes, sir?" Kimberly stopped her steps and turned to Danial.

Danial looked awkward talking. "Are you busy tomorrow?" Danial asked.

"Umm, no, sir."

"Good. Accompany me to the Thanksgiving event," Danial said.

"Me?"

"Is there anyone else here?" asked Danial with a cold expression.

"Yes, sir. I will accompany you," said Kimberly.

"Good. I'll meet you here tomorrow at 8 p.m.," said Danial.

"Here, sir? Do I have to go to the office again?"

"What is it?" Danial asked.

"No, it's just that I have to go back and forth," Kimberly said.

"I'm not used to picking someone up. So let's meet here."

"Umm, okay," Kimberly exclaimed.

Danial looked back at his laptop screen and focused on typing something. Kimberly was once again uncomfortable because of his repeated attempts to impress her.

"Then you'll have to excuse me, sir."

"Yes."

Kimberly got up from her seat and left the room.

"He invited me, but why did it take him so long to pick me up? Oh my..." Kimberly grumbled as she left Danial's room.

"Does that guy have multiple personalities, or is he the kind of person who is as cold as the North Pole?" she muttered as she entered her room.

She sat down in her big chair. "Well, get over it, Mr. Cold, and get to work."

Kimberly opened the email from Danial, and she was sluggish again. "Jeez, the second day of work must have been overtime."

Kimberly could only sigh.
