2. Mr. Cold

Danial poured a light brown drink into a small glass containing several ice cubes. Then the man walked towards the wide window that showed the beauty and bustle of Great Britain at night. His memory returned to a woman named Kimberly. Yesterday was their first meeting, but somehow he felt that he had met her long before yesterday.

The man took a sip of his drink, and his gaze returned to staring ahead, as far as the eye could see. For a moment, someone's face appeared there, smiling and laughing at him.

"Mr. Cold, do you seriously like me?" the woman asked.

"Maybe..."

The woman showed a sullen expression toward Danial when she heard his answer.

"Tsk, you're an annoying guy."

---

"I'm sorry, Dan. Our paths diverged because of fate. After this, feel free to hate me as much as you want." The woman thrust the dagger into Danial's body.

Danial closed her eyes as the sharp dagger pierced her body. I still vividly remember the woman's gaze, hurt, broken, and full of regret, after she stabbed Danial. Danial almost lost her life at that time, but God still gave her the chance to survive and look for that woman.

Danial let out a long breath. He had to forget those bitter memories.

A knock on the door interrupted his reverie. "Come in," Danial said as he turned to the door and saw a man enter the room. Dimitri, Danial's best friend and assistant, was there.

"You're not coming home, Dim?" asked Danial, because the man he already considered his own brother was still at the Gonemanus mansion.

"I'll be home soon. By the way, your brother is coming. He's downstairs," said Dimitri.

"Is it raining?" asked Danial.

"Hello, my brother!" exclaimed a 15-year-old girl, who had her hair tied in two.

"You? How did you get here, and with whom?" inquired Danial, who, taken aback, approached Rainy Lavanya Wiratama, the youngest daughter of Regan Danial Wiratama and Angela Gonemanus.

"I'm off school and want to take a vacation here," replied Rainy with a big smile.

"You want to run away again?" asked Danial, and the girl just smiled broadly.

Moments later, sure enough, her mom called her. "Look, Mom's going to nag," said Danial.

"Help me, sis. Yes, you're good," the girl said, holding Danial's arm.

Danial was weaker than his siblings. The man received a call from Angela.

"Yes, ma'am?"

"Dan, is your naughty sister there?" Angela asked, sounding annoyed.

Danial glanced at Rain, who had a sad expression.

"He just arrived," Danial replied.

"Give the phone to that brat. How could he leave without saying anything to his parents? What happens if something goes wrong? Just tell the family pilot to take him to Britannia."

"Honey, stop nagging," said the baritone voice that could always calm her mother.

"This time, you're lucky that Dad is there," Danial said, and Rain smiled again.

"Dan, please give the phone to Rain. I need to talk," Regan said from the other side.

"Okay." Danial gave the phone to Rain. The girl was seen talking to Regan on the phone.

"Dim, if you want to go home, just go," Danial said.

"Okay then. Don't forget there's a meeting tomorrow morning with Mr. Luke from the Int company."

"Okay."

"Then I'll leave first. See you, Rain."

"Bye, Dim," replied Rainy, who was now walking towards Danial. "It's done, sis."

Danial received his cell phone back. "Oh, that's the woman on your cell phone. She is the woman who killed him."

"Shut your mouth, Rain," Danial said.

"Why? I'm telling the truth. She's the one who almost made me lose my brother!" Rain replied, leaving Danial's room with an annoyed look on her face.

Danial could only sigh. Not only Rain, but her whole family also hated Arabella; even her father would go after her if Javeera didn't hold her back. Yes, because Danial and Javeera are twins, the woman understands him better.

The following day, Kimberly arrived at Gonemanus' large company.

"Last night, I dreamed of working for this large organization. Oh my God." Gonemanus' company is one of the largest in the United Kingdom. Dan is well-known among world-class businessmen, much like how his twin manages Wiratama.

The woman walked gracefully into the company lobby. Kimberly attached the identification card that Dimitri gave her yesterday so that she could enter the company area. The woman walked towards the row of elevators; there were five elevator doors, and there were five more elevators opposite.

There were 10 elevator doors, but they were always full. Kim looked at the watch on her wrist.

"Oh my God, five more minutes," Kimberly complained, and the average elevator position was still at the top. There was one elevator that employees had avoided. Finally, without thinking, Kim pressed the button for the elevator in the basement, and when she reached the ground floor, the elevator doors opened right in front of Kimberly.

She got into the elevator so quickly that her high heels got caught in the door, and she fell forward, hitting the man in front of her. Kimberly was now in the man's warm embrace, making their gazes meet and stare at each other.

"Is this how Miss Lawyer works on her first day?" someone quipped, snapping Kimberly out of her reverie.

"Arghhh!" Kimberly groaned as her ass kissed the cold elevator floor. "That really sucks."

Kimberly got up from her position while stroking her butt.

"Are you cussing at me?" asked the man in the suit, who was none other than Danial.

"No, I said the floor was cold," Kimberly replied with a groan of pain.

"And again, this is the director's elevator; can't you warn in front of the elevator?" questioned Danial, turning to Kimberly, who was standing next to him. Danial turned to Kimberly, who was standing next to him. He turned to face Kimberly, who was standing nearby.

"I didn't see it. I'm sorry, Mr. Danial," said Kimberly, bowing slightly toward him.

Danial continued to criticize Kimberly, saying, "Tsk, lawyer, negligent and not thorough," making her unable to keep quiet.

Kimberly gave Danial a sharp look. "Do you have a problem with me, Mr. Danial?" she asked.

"Danial?" asked Kimberly.

Danial didn't answer, and he stared ahead with his hands in his pants pockets.

"Damn, I broke my heel," Kimberly muttered as she glanced at her heel stuck in the elevator door.

Danial tried not to care, but his eyes still wanted to glance at Kimberly's shoes, which indeed had broken heels.

Ting

The elevator doors opened wide. Danial took a wide step out of the elevator, with Kimberly shuffling behind him.

"Good morning, Mr. Danial," greeted Dimitri along with his five other secretaries. Danial stepped into a room with a clear glass partition.

"Good morning, Ms. Kimberly."

"Good morning, Mr. Dimitri. Just call me Kimberly," Kim replied with a big smile.

"This is Ms. Kimberly, Mr. Danial's new lawyer. Danial," Dimitri said.

"Hello, Ms. Kim."

"Hello everyone. It was enjoyable to meet you. Hopefully we can all work well together," Kimberly said with a big smile.

Danial made an intercom call to Dimitri.

"Sally, please escort Ms. Kimberly to her room. I'd like to meet Mr. Danial."

"Yes, sir. Come on, Ms. Kimberly, I'll take you," said Sally, who was one of Danial's secretaries.

Dimitri entered Danial's room. "Anything to do?" Dimitri asked. "Oh yes, Ms. Kimberly has been delivered to her room," Danial replied.

"Yes, Dim, order a pair of size 39 women's shoes," Danial said, making Dimitri freeze in place.

"Eh?"

"Did you hear?" asked Danial, who was annoyed at being ignored.

"I heard it, but who are those shoes for? Are they for rain?" asked Dimitri.

"Give the shoes to the new lawyer," said Danial.

"Are you referring to Kimberly's lawyer?" Dimitri asked, his demeanor suddenly turning shrewd.

"Do I have to repeat myself?" asked Danial, looking annoyed.

"No need. I will prepare it and give it directly to Ms. Kim," said Dimitri. "Is there anything else?"

"No, no, no. That's all," Danial replied.

"Then, if you'll excuse me," Dimitri said, still looking confused.

"What's wrong with him? After five years, he's looking at women again," Dimitri muttered as he left Danial's room.

"Could this be good news?" he muttered to himself. "Yes, I hope Miss Kim can melt that prince's frozen heart."

Kimberly read through some of the documents Sally had given her on the Gonemanus company's legal cases, licenses, and contracts. Kimberly had to understand the system first before working on the new contract.

A knock on the door broke her focus from the files in her hands.

"Come in," Kimberly said, and the door opened. "Mr. Dimitri!" Kim exclaimed when she saw Dimitri enter.

"Just call me Dimitri," Dimitri said.

"Doesn't that sound naughty?" Kimberly chuckled.

"It's okay, just to be more casual," Dimitri chuckled.

"Okay."

"Ah yes. There's a delivery from the big boss," Dimitri said as he placed the package on the table near the sofa.

"Big boss? You mean, Mr. Danial?" asked Kimberly.

"Yeah, who else is the big boss here?" Dimitri chuckled, making Kim smile a little and wonder what the package was.

"I'll have to excuse myself now. If there are any work issues that you don't understand, you can contact me," said Dimitri.

"Okay. Thank you, Dim."

Dimitri walked out of Kimberly's room. He walked towards the package and opened it.

Deg

"Shoes? How's it going?"

Kimberly took the fancy shoes and looked at the number, which matched her foot size.

"He even knows my foot number. How did he know that?" Kimberly muttered in confusion and wonder.
