LUCA

But why?

Why the hell would he do it?

“What does my brother have to do with cartel business? Why would Otto put a hit on him?” I choked out between sobs, my voice trembling. Sucre placed a steady hand on my shoulder, but even that small comfort felt distant.

My mind was spinning, my heart beating so hard I could hear it in my ears.

Then it hit me - Otto. If he’s moving, Darius always knows. He never moves without putting Darius on.

I grabbed my phone, hands shaking, and dialed Darius’ number.

Voicemail.

No. No, no, no.

I called again. Same thing.

Voicemail.

Darius always picked up. Always. On the first ring. Something felt wrong.

Before I could say anything, Sucre suddenly stood. He’d been silent, like he was somewhere else entirely.

“I’m starving, man. Gonna grab some snacks. You want anything?” He leaned forward and pressed a soft kiss on my lips.

But, something felt different about him. Something I couldn’t quite figure out.

I was unstable. I feared for my life as two of Otto’s men escorted me through the dim lit corridor. My heart pounded from uncertainty. What test awaited me in his private chambers? How would I prove my loyalty? As we walked, I could hear sounds of moaning, the rhythmic sounds of ass clapping and men screaming from pleasure coming out of the rooms on both sides of the hallway. Some were playful, others desperate.Ahead, Otto walked with the slow, confident swagger of a man who owned everything. His tailored suit screamed power. Was this the test he meant? Was that how I’d prove my loyalty, by fucking him?"Keep moving," one of the men barked, shoving me forward.I swallowed hard. I had no choice but to follow. We stopped at an ornately carved door. Otto twisted the handle and stepped inside.Immediately, two athletic young men rushed to him, helping him out of his suit. As I caught sight of the large bed that lay just in front of him, I knew it had come to this. I had to have sex

I bolted to the window, carefully peeping through the small opening on the side but the car sped off.Oh my God! This can't be happening.I collapsed onto the seat by the window in my room, my heart pounding against my chest. Every movement outside felt like a threat. Every passerby became a potential cartel member sent to end me.I kept looking at my phone, my fingers trembling as I refreshed the screen again and again. No response from Otto. No threat. Nothing but silence.I must be the most wanted man on campus.Just then, came a knock on the door. A single, deliberate knock. I almost lost my breath. Unbothered.I swallowed hard. “You… you weren’t home?”“No. I just got back. Why?”Cold dread pulsed through me. My mind raced back few hours ago standing outside his house.
