Chapter 6: office tension

Landon leaned towards her, his fingers lightly brushed against her skin as he gently wiped away a sauce spot that stained her chin as she devoured the peppered chicken. His gaze softened for a fleeting moment as he reached for a napkin and wiped his hand on it.

Tara felt a shiver run down her spine at the intimate touch, her cheeks flushing with warmth as she held Landon's gaze. She wanted more, her mind filled with fantasies.

She wanted his lips on hers in a passionate kiss, wanted to feel the sensation of his tongue tracing delicate patterns, slowly, along her neck.

He leaned back on his seat and cleared his throat before speaking, "You should finish your meal and get back to work, Miss Hayes. I believe you have quite a lot to do today.”

Tara nervously adjusted her blouse as she lowered her head. She was embarrassed and lost her appetite.
