I stared at the closed door blankly.

For a moment, I thought I was hallucinating.

Did he say that he was going to accompany me?

I came to my senses. He was just afraid I would run away so he just wants to keep an eye on me.

I chased after Dave and said to him who was now downstairs, "No need, Mr. Mitaka. I won't go anywhere. Don't worry."

I emphasized the words 'Don't worry.' Then, I went back to the bedroom.

That day, Dave stayed at home for the whole day and so did I but the two of us didn't say a word.

Originally, I thought the day would pass by just like that but in the evening after dinner was served, as soon as I sat down, Dave's cell phone rang.

He picked up and called out, "Grandpa." Then he got up and headed for the living room to continue his call.

I looked over and noticed there was a gloomy look on his face.

After a while, before I could dig into my food, Dave came over and said, "Get changed. We are going to Grandpa's house."
