chapter 56

Visiting hours were over so Ember had to leave. She hadn't talked to Axle ever since she told him to leave. She got into her car and closed the door. She took out her phone and unlocked it and saw that there were a bunch of texts from Axle.

1st text:Ember please answer my calls. I am getting worried.

2nd text:I know that you are mad at me but please answer my calls or my text.

3rd text: Ember, it's been three hours now, is your mom okay?

The texts went on and on. She just put her phone in her handbag and she put it on the passenger's seat. She sighed, she thought about Sophie's words, and she knew deep down that she was right. Axle did what he thought was right, she probably would have done the same thing if she were in his shoes, but it was also understandable for her to be mad at him for shooting her mother.
