Chapter 18

Ryan’s point of view

“So you mean to say it was I who invited you over to LA? Via a letter?” I didn’t wait for her to respond before I continued, “If we’ve been in contact through letters in 2026 that there is no use for mobile phones or media services, how come I wasn’t enthusiastic about your arrival? I wonder why I’d prioritize my work over spending some time with you?” I wanted her to see the shade in this whole situation, how she’s a victim of a plot.

She’d nodded alongside my words that I believed she has seen what I wanted her to see.

“I didn’t even know. I thought it was because I refused your invitation because I wanted to surprise you with my presence instead, so I thought you were pissed that I refused and showed up unannounced. And I still think you prioritized your work over me because you’re still pissed at me?” She answered my rhetorical questions and proceed to prove to me that there is absolutely nothing useful inside that pretty head of hers. Useless.

Chapter 19 Sebastian’s point of view I read through the article Donna shoved in my face and force me to go through to believe that Vivian was a liar and that she’s here with a motive. She badly wanted me to sack her, but all I’ve seen or read in here weren’t implicating enough. If anything, they just proved more truths to her words. That she was indeed rich and has everything until she go broke. I’m sure her family wouldn’t publish the decision they took to disown her so the family wouldn’t have a bad stain on them, and she on the other hand wouldn’t like the story out in the happen because of her shame. It’s pretty understandable to why it’s not known that she’s disown or broke. I’ll need more than articles to believe Donna over Vivian’s story. My phone buzzed, and a text came in. I dropped Donna’s phone for her so I could check out the text I received, it was the perfect distraction to be done with Donna’s trouble. Xavier has texted me the address of where he wanted us to mee

Chapter 20 Ryan’s point of view When I got Donna’s text regarding the task I gave her to set a meeting up between Seb and I, she’d told me about Seb’s date with a client of his, namely Xavier Rodriguez. The weird guy we both met at the governor’s party. Why were they going on a date? Donna didn’t include the details. I’ve gotten only the location, and when Marcelene texted me hi that she just collected my contact from my mother. I knew exactly how I’m going to see Seb tonight. I decided to invite Marcelene out to a night out at the city and she was delighted to accompany me. And so was my mother when I arrived with a car to pick Marcelene up, she has no idea what I’ve done or had in store for her. I can’t wait to see the look on her face when tomorrow comes and she meets with the fate of her schemes. “Where exactly are we going though? I never asked?” Marcelene asked as she fastened her seatbelt around her. Since I wouldn’t like myself a driver, and prefer to drive myself aroun

Chapter 21 Sebastian’s point of view “Seb! Seb! Seb wait!” The recognizable voice chanted from my behind as I walked into the restroom. I turned around with the aim to bang the door on his face when his body pushed through and his scent flexed straight for my nostrils. He kept himself close to me as he grabbed me by my shoulder and pushed me into the nearest wall. His face a view of desperation as he scoured me in a longing gaze. “Why are you doing this to me?” His jaw tightened as he quizzed in distress. I looked away from his eyes and down to the hands that were on my shoulder. “Get your hands off me!” I warned in a gentle tone. He dropped the hands, but circled his left one around my neck as he gently nudged his forehead into mine. His hot passionate breaths fanning into my face. “Haven’t you done enough?” His eyes closed as he sniffed in a long breath. “Fuck, I’m gonna go crazy.” His lips edged onto mine as he worked his way into my mouth.I stood there, dumbfounded like a

Chapter 22 Ryan’s point of view I dusted off the dirt on my pants while I kept my gaze glued to Seb’s trail of disappearance. I’d finally gotten to him, and he refused me still. What I’d give right now to be able to go into his mind and check out the mystery he is at the moment. To know just what currently clashes inside that fine space of his mind. His thoughts about me, about us, and about what’s next. I stood there, rooted to a spot for more than a minute even after he was gone just thinking out loud to myself on how the night has to end like this. I’d gamble my life for the chance of the night ending with me naked in bed with him, or us cuddled up together and getting over our past. Any ending so long as it doesn’t involve him running away from me. I blew out a frustrated sigh before I pushed into motion and went back into the lounge. As soon as I showed up back at the lounge alone, the smile on Donna’s face suddenly became a frown as her brows raised suspiciously. Her mo

Chapter 23 Sebastian’s point of view “I only picked this call because you wouldn’t stop calling. What the fuck is it?” My annoyed tone queried Donna’s non-stop dig to blow my phone up with calls. “Do I have to lecture you on boundaries? When I snubbed your call the first, second, and third times you called. You should have gotten the hint that I do not want to either talk at the moment, or be on the phone with you of all people,” I criticized, pissed that she literally called me over thirty times and practically forced me to pick her next call so she would stop! That’s insane. “You kissed Ryan and ran away? I’m outside your door, come open up,” was what I got as a response to the words I just babbled. The fuck. “No! Absolutely no! Turn the fuck around and get off my porch, don’t get me more upset than I already am. What the fuck will you be doing here in the middle of the night because of something that doesn’t actually have to be your business? Like what the heck?!” I coul

Chapter 24 Ryan’s point of view When next I found Marcelene so we could get out of the bar, she was exactly like what she wanted to be and do. She was lighted on the stage, drunk as she twirled around to give one of the sexiest shows ever for both the male and female gazes of those present and showered her their attention. I rushed to get her down when she was done and aided her stance as we walked out of the bar, people kept applauding her and whistling at her as she leaned on me and blow out kisses. I finally got her settled in the car as well as worked the belt around her before I went to take my place behind the wheels. “Gosh tonight was so fun, I’ve never had a night like this in my life. We should do this once again,” she beamed where she was sat with joy all over her face and body. I smirked at her and zoomed our car into motion. “You got drunk and you think it’s fun?” I shook my head and laughed at her. “Who told you I’m drunk? I’m so not drunk, I just feel

Chapter 25 Sebastian’s point of view Donna and I arrived at the office in the morning, but she had to go away with the excuse of changing her outfit. I was now left in care of my new secretary, Ryan’s sister and it looks like Donna hasn’t shared with her the rules around here. She knocked on my door and brought a coffee for me. Number one, I do not take coffees anywhere or any types so long as it’s not prepared by myself. Number two which is really very important is, unless I’m unreachable and urgently needs to be reached, you’re not allowed to knock on my door or disturb me, instead make use of the landline attached to your desk. I’m sure Donna didn’t tell her all of this because she wanted her to get on my nerves. “You’re not allowed to knock on my door unless you’ve tried to reach me through the landline provided at your desk multiple times and I was unreachable, only then should you come to my office and knock on my door. I hate disturbance,” I began to address her. “If I tak

Chapter 26 Ryan’s point of view Today wasn’t supposed to go like this. No, not at all. The thought was I’d wake up, go to work, get myself married in a private court, and finish the day with a visit to Seb. Now tell me why it’s not even moon yet and the day has already spiraled out from what I had in mind. Few seconds ago my secretary stormed in with worry written all over her face as she stretched her phone out to me in anxiousness. I took it, confused until I checked out the article displayed on her screen. The Headline boldly stated ‘Once Again, The Art Of Enemies To Lovers Has Proven Itself Solid.’ Sub heading also read that, ‘Billionaire CEO Sebastian Torres private desires for Billionaire Heir, Ryan McCall Growan.’ Below was attached a footage of where I had Seb caged to a car and my face was nearly smashing into his. It was an intimate scene to look at, and I don’t need to read through all the written paragraphs to derive the message conveyed in that article. “Fuck!” I

He wouldn’t release my psycho brother from jail just because he wanted my downfall, the same brother he knew tried to kill me and nearly had me forever on life support. I simply refuse to think he would. I was seated patiently in the darkness, he should be here in One… Two… The door creaked open, and his hand went straight to the switch. Upon giving light to the room, he met me seated right on his bed, backed up to the headboard with a small remote with just a single button on it. “Mirroring my moves I see,” he said, but I smiled back at him. “I upgraded it,” I told him before I slammed on the remote I have with me and brought down the machine mask also with me over my face. Soon enough, gas flooded out and began to smoke up the whole room. I watched him struggle to react against the gas, but soon fell victim and collapsed on the floor unconscious. It was only then I jumped do

Chapter 62Sebastian’s point of view It just goes on to prove that Ryan truly was a white snake under a white armor, he was no knight for me at all, he’s a snake and has always been. I remember the night Donna came for a sleepover at my house, when she told me about the arranged engagement. We spoke about it all night and kind of agreed that there’s no way Ryan would actually consider the arrangement. Yes at that time a part of me believed he wouldn’t do it because he said he’s in love with me, while the other part just didn’t want an old friend to get into a lifelong of unhappiness. But little did I know that I was the fool, because tell me why Ryan was captured hand in hand smiling as he secretly exit the court with his new wife beside him. I recognized the chick, it was the same girl she brought with him to the club. Why do people betray? Like I’m genuinely confused, why do you feel the need to break someone’s trust and shatter the loyalty they’ve built up for you? Is it a fun

Chapter 50Ryan’s point of view This is another work of Matthew Simmons. I’m sure of it, cause who on earth who else on earth find it amusing to leak private stuffs about me to the internet and put me in a constant state of discussion. It was just recent that pictures surfaced the internet about me and Seb captured in an intimate moment, not too long, barely twenty fours hours later was the news of my marriage.I was in no dark mood, I’m furious. I’ve been like that ever since I got the call to check the latest news. Though I’ve had my team on it again to find out who was the source of this new leak, as well as get rid of the news from the internet. They were already on it, but still doesn’t kill my anger. Who is Matthew Simmons? How is he stalking me effortlessly? He knows I got wedded this morning, knows I went to the club and met up with Seb. How? Just how?! Unless of course he’s getting tips from someone close to me, and who might that be if not the witch I have as a sister.

Chapter 60Sebastian’s point of view It was only fitting I give my little brother a deserving funeral, he might not deserve it, but it’s a deed that’ll preserve my humanity. I had to take him out. I’ve been taking a lot of chances, I’ve been getting tricked a lot lately and it’s enough. I badly wanted to believe him, to think that he’s telling the truth and sincerely wants to be my brother. I do, I wanted to seriously believe him. But then I’m reminded of the so much work Ryan went through to convinced me that he regrets our past and wants a future with me. He professed his false love to me on a national television, the confession was broadcasted live and all round the city. Yet it was to an end, and was never genuine like a part of me wished it would be. It was only a stunt to have me at his whim. No more mercy. No more forgiveness. No more second chances. No more getting fooled. My brother’s death was inevitable, he’s an impulsive psychopath if that’s a thing. He operates on h

Chapter 59Sebastian’s point of view “Wakey wakey little brother, get out of that dream world already.” I tapped repeatedly on his cheek until his drowsy eyes slowly pulled wide and apart till he jerked at the sight of my face. Good one! He’s awake. His head snapped around for a three sixty room inspection. Oh we’re no longer in his apartment, or even somewhere neat enough to conserve his death. I brought him to my private warehouse, where I’ve gotten most of my darkest shit done.“Where are we? What is this place? You?” His furious gaze trailed back to me, deadly and a sight for me to laugh at. I let out a deep breath before I stepped back from him. “This will either be the place you die or the place where you save yourself,” I began, then turned my back and walked over to the table in the room with us. On the table was a tray that carried various items that I’ve had provided for me to draw on his blood and carve pain into his skins. There we have a blade, dagger, a lot of sharp

Chapter 57 Ryan’s point of view It was hard to believe what my mom told me, but even harder to take it all in when she proved the truth to her words. The truth that indeed Sebastian Torres, the man I’ve loved since the early years of my life was my father’s killer. I spent the whole night in serious sober, unable to blink my eyes close for a rest. My head pounded with more thoughts and question than I could control, and only one man could answer all these questions. Only one man, the suspect himself. No. No no he’s not a suspect. I shouldn’t call him that, ‘Maybe that’s because he’s no suspect and rather the confirmed killer of your father,’ a voice in my head jabbed at me. Confirmed killer? I mean yes I watched the video, heard the voice, saw his face, watched him took the goddamn shot and a part of me still thinks it’s all fabricated and Seb remains an angel. Call me pathetic, but I don’t want to believe this. This cannot happen to me!!!! No! It just can’t! The whole co

Chapter 56Sebastian’s point of view The next day arrived and I was up on my bed barely three hours after I settled down for a rest. For me that was enough to rest to start the day. There’s a say that goes around saying there was no rest for the wicked. Well the wicked part of me is on the play and there should be no rest for now. I took my shower and got dressed. He gave me till the noon of today, but I already did most of what was needed to do. All that was left now was the last part of my plan. If only he knew he wasn’t dealing with the old Sebastian, and that the one he thought he could mess with is ruthless and someone he should have never gone against. I got to my office and surprisingly, Donna wasn’t the first face I’d see to welcome me. It was Vivian, and she kind of looks worried. Her worries were none of my concern so I didn’t bother to ask her, I only nodded in response to her greeting and vanished into my office. Somehow a part of me was drawn to her, to the worry o
