Daniel stared at the picture. He stared caressing her image with his thumb as if to get physical contact with her.
He missed her. He missed Red.
This time he wasn't too resentful about admitting it. But just to himself though.
His gaze never left it was that picture the nosy photographer had taken of them. He had grown to really like it. It was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen.
He also admitted to himself now that he had growing feelings for Red. Maybe just a little but it still counted, yea?
Over the time they had spent together ever since they were tolerant of each other, he had come to admire her.
After their little make out session, memories of it never leaving his head he was...he didn't have a word for what he was and when she sent that text, he"Ouch!" He cried as the bouquet met his face, "What the hell Red?!" His hand came up scratching the pained area as he spat out daisy petals that had gotten into his mouth. Red dropped the bouquet angrily and stomped at it with her feet. "What the hell Red?! He asked again, " What's the matter with you?" "You looked ridiculous." She snorted at him. They were still at the doorway. He wasn't sure if she was going to let him in, "At least I made you laugh." He grinned. "That was a good start." Red nodded folding her hands and leaning against the door frame, "TILL YOU RUINED IT WITH DAISIES!" She yelled at him. He flinched at her voice,"Well, what the hell is wrong with daisies?" Daniel did find out what was wrong with
"Stop the fucking music!" Daniel yelled at the orchestra performers in anger at the same time pulling himself away from Red, "Everyone get out!" He screamed at them again including the waiters.Red just stood there looking unaffected as the members of the orchestra and waiters that had served them scurried out of the room."What is the matter with you Red?" He asked turning to her, "What the hell do you want now?""Why are you yelling Daniel?" She asked him calmly, "You scared those nice people.""Why did you say no?" He asked her not paying attention to what she was saying, "I did everything you requested for why still a no?""Well." She sighed looking straight at him, "I wanted purple roses but you gave me red instead."
"Get your ass up!" Red poked her head through the door startling Daniel, "It's time, it's time!" She yelled."Coming!" He matched her tone and quickly got his laptop off and grabbed his coat."Could you hurry up?!" She tapped her feet impatiently, "Stop being a slug." She was super excited tonight. She and Daniel were going on their very first date as a couple and he had let her plan it all.She smiled as she looked at the strikingly attractive face of her few days old boyfriend and she couldn't draw her eyes off his lips, lips that she ravished at any opportunity she got."Shall we?" He smiled down at her and grabbed her hand before placing a chaste kiss on her lips.Red tilted her head upward and intended to deepen the kiss but he stopped her, "We are late." She whispered. She nodded, grabbed his hand excitedly be
"I grew up at an orphanage, neither knowing my parents or roots." She began her tale while her head rested on Daniel's shoulder. He stroked her hair lovingly."They didn't even know who had dropped me off." She added."So..." Daniel cut in, "You have no idea who your parents are or where you came from?" He asked stroking her hair.Red hesitated a bit before answering, "I have got no idea who they are nor where I came from." She said, "I was mute growing up, not born mute but it was selective muteness.""What do you mean?" He questioned."I was always withdrawn not talking to anyone cause I didn't like the kids there at the foster home they bullied me a lot." She heard Daniel's sharp intake of breath indicating anger, "I was always sick, my hair falling out and all. That was what the kids bullied me for especially when I became completely bald it got worse." She sighed, "Ev
"He's alive!" The older man at the end of the phone growled and She flinched, "Why the fuck can't you do just one thing right?"She didn't have an answer to give nor an explanation on how a very well plotted assassination had failed. It took them months to get this far but it all came crumbling down with that one mistake."Why the fuck aren't you talking idiot?!" The man yelled this time. Her hand holding up the phone was still shaking."Just give us time sir." Her voice trembled, "We would fix it.""I have eyes watching you." She looked around frantically observing the pitch dark room she was in with only a single ray of light coming from the broken part in the door.He couldn't possibly see me now, she thought, can he?"I don't give second chances." He said before swearing at her in Italian, "Where is that stupid husband of yours?"
Bloody murder! Daniel wanted to scream but he had to control himself but he was losing itAs he watched Red lying on the bed helplessly in deep sleep and as the doctor filled his ears with his diagnosis, he really wanted to scream with each passing moment.Poisoning! Poisoning! Bloody poisoning.Red had been poisoned as the doctor said and the only thing they had taken that morning was the pancakes he ordered for breakfast. He wanted to go back to the restaurant and let all hell break loose on them if they do not provide the miscreant who had done it but his mother had held him, pleaded and distracted him with talks of why didn't you tell me you had finally gotten a girlfriend."She would be okay right?" Mrs Hart asked the doctor while squeezing her son's hand, "Is it survivable?"
Red's mouth was wide agape immediately they drive through the tall silver metallic gates. She gazed in admiration at the green expanse of land with lots of masquerade and oak trees spread across the lands. The trees were mostly entwined with vines giving it a creepy old look. How much she loved that look.He continued driving smiling as he watched her marvel at the grand scenery, wait till the gets to the house, He chuckled."Are you a fucking prince?!" Her voice came out as a yell immediately the manor was in view as they had gotten to a section where the trees were sparse and the land was mowed .The house was sitting there majestically in all its glory. It reminded her of a modern medieval castle. A mini castle tho, the type a duke or duchess would own.
"I grew up in Greece." Daniel began as he laid more comfortably on the bed with his hands neatly placed behind his head, "It was Greece." He repeated again.Red did the same but with her hands around his torso and head tucked in the crook of his neck, "Greece?" She wondered, "That's new and unexpected.""Well..." He said, "Maybe some day I would take you there." He suggested with a smile."That would be lovely." She stated, "Is Mr Daniel Hart being romantic?"He rolled his eyes, "When was I ever never romantic?""You do not want me to get started on that." She jabbed his chest a bit in a playful gesture, "Continue your story.""Greece was lovely and peaceful." He continued his tale, "I loved it a lot. I loved the place I still do. I had friends I grew up with back then, mum was always around." He held her hand and began to stroke it as if it would calm him down from some built up tension, "Dad always came home early and with goodies too. I w

A year and some months later."Daniel! Red!" Dane yelled his face contorting in anger and embarrassment, "Come and look what your child did!" He cried out as he felt more of the liquid seeping through his pants. The little girl giggled at him revealing her milk teeth with her thumb stuck in her mouth, "D...D..." She chanted.Dane growled at her."Why are you growling at my child?!" A very furious Red rushed into the room as she tried to balance her crown on her head, "I would hang you!"The child chuckled as if agreeing with her mother as she bubbled with excitement when Red approached."Like daughter like mother!" He growled, "She wet herself on me jeez, I don't want to do this anymore!""No! No!" Daniel walked into the room grinning at his best friend's predicament, "You came in minutes ago whining about how we do not let you spend time with the
"Daniel!" His name came from her lips in a whispered shock. She couldn't believe he was right there clutching to her window looking really tired. He looked haggard making her wonder what he had gone through to get to her. His hair was a mess and she could see leaves and twigs sticking out of it. His face had some bruises and his eyes spelt tired. He looked like the male version of an old hag."Well, look what the cat dragged in." She snorted with folded arms as she watched Daniel debate within himself if he should enter into the room or just stay clutched to the window."Why didn't a wolf drag me in instead?" He sassed back, "Can I come in?" He asked her as he watched her stand with folded arms in a very sheer night gown. He could feel his desire stir.Focus Daniel! Focus! He chided himself."Why do you need my permission to get in?" She smirked, "You already climbed up all the wa
Red could swear that she had heard Daniel calling her name but then again she thought she was hallucinating. It's not like he could just barge into the castle and demand that he wants me back in his life, She shook her head in disbelief, You are almost a Queen Red, you shouldn't be having such bizarre thoughts and imaginations."Does something ail you my dear?" The voice broke her from her thoughts and she looked at the person in front of her."No, nothing." She shook her head, "I just remembered something.""You can talk to me about anything you know." He persisted and Red was a bit irritated."Your Highness, prince Roland." She cleared her throat, "Could we proceed with the lunch?""Yes of course." He said and immediately dug into the food, "So, about my proposal, what do you think?"Red
Daniel thought he could just walked into the Castle, find Red, proclaim his undying love to her, she accepts him and boom they get married but boy, was he wrong. He couldn't believe the he was being dragged out of the palace premises by his hair and he was carried and thrown out landing face flat on the ground. He sat up with a groan rubbing his face as it ached, he hadn't even managed to get into the palace before he got caught and thrown out.He got up to his feet and and walked away from the castles gates. He had to make a phone call and also get food to eat. Dane couldn't stop squealing with laughter over the phone very much to Daniel's irritation. He had related his experience to him and he erupted in full blown laughter mocking his predicament."Can you stop laughing?" Dani
Daniel closed his laptop with a sigh. He leaned back on his chair with his hands folded behind his head. His gaze was fixated on his door half expecting Red to walk in ungracefully with a teasing smile on her lips and tinkling blue eyes filled with mischief. He knew that wasn't going to happen. Him expecting her to walk through that door like before. He had let her go out of anger and now he deeply regretted it.It's been days, weeks and months since he last saw Red. He hadn't seen the woman he loved for a very long time. He hadn't seen her long luscious red hair that shone brightly, he hadn't gazed into her blue eyes in a long time. Her voice was foreign to him now as he hadn't heard it in a long time. He missed her a whole lot and as time passed he had tried to reach her but she wanted nothing to do with him. She only spoke with Dane and sometimes the rest of the family. She had blocked him everywhere and changed lines and h
Red stared at Daniel silently willing him to say something but his mouth was sealed in a tight line. She saw how his eyes glowered in anger and betrayal as he looked at her."Say something please?" She licked her lips as they suddenly became dry, "You are scaring me." She watched his brows furrow."I don't understand what you just said Red." Daniel said to her shaking his head, "What do you mean?""I want you to say something, you aren't responding to what I told you earlier.""I want to hear it again." His voice was stern."I have parents and I am the crown princess of Cladonia.""You are suppose to be an orphan.""Well, I found out that I got parents." She shrugged."Why do I have a feeling that you have known about this for a long time but you chose to keep it away from me?" He said, "Prove me wrong please."
Daniel was alive! Red couldn't believe it as she sat next to the bed staring at him. He smiled at her with his eyes beaming and she reached out a finger tracing the seam of his lips."You are alive." It came out as a whisper, her eyes widening in excitement, "Oh my God Daniel, you are alive!" She got over her excitement and pulled him into a bone crushing hug."Easy." He gasped, "I just got out of surgery.""I am sorry." She pulled back and rested her head on his shoulder, "I am just so happy that you are alive." And with that she broke down into tears crying her heart out."Don't cry babe." He pulled her closer stroking her hair, "I am here now."Red couldn't stop crying. She had spent days hoping and praying for Daniel to live. She had seen him in the ICU with different tubes sticking out of his body. She had stood behind the glass looking through at him oblivious to what was happening around her as her eyes were
Lorenzo took long calm strides bringing him closer to them. He gazed at them with his glaring good eye, "What is wrong Grace?" He taunted, "You look pale, have you see a ghost?" He smirked. "No..." She tried to be calm, "I am just wondering why you are one eyed?" "Daniel did that to him." Hart said to her, "Instead of dying, he ended up one eyed." "Shut up Hart!" Lorenzo yelled in a fit of rage, "Keep blabbing and I will be sure to make your death slow and painful." "You are not killing my husband, you bastard!" Mrs Hart spat, "I wouldn't let you!" "I was a fool to let him live the first time but I also made sure to make his life hell." He laughed, "But now, I will be damned if I let him walk out of here alive. So, which of you shall I begin with?" He asked, "You?" He pointed the gun at Hart, "Or you?" The gun was moved to his wife, "Oh! I know! Let's play a game of shoot and dodge." "Leave Grace out of this, it's me you want." Hart pl
