Steven took the entire party to the Silver Crescent Pack. Fortunately, they had advanced healing centers, so even the cub was relocated to the pack.
The gatekeepers questioned Steven and Liam about Amelia’s situation, but both of them were as blank as anyone else. They didn’t know why Amelia ran off to the human settlement in the dead of the night.
Zion was of little help. He only shared that Amelia was whimpering in sleep. She most probably had a nightmare, that is why he left to call for help, but when he came back, Amelia was long gone.
Gatekeepers did their work and then left to investigate further. The healers handed over their jobs to the healers of the Silver Crescent Pack. The old female healer looked at the Silver Crescent pack with admiration and found a few capable healers.
She ultimately decided to settle down in the Silver Crescent pack once her tenure in the human world ended.
The cub was in an incubator. Amelia and Keith
The waxy cat like cry pulled the strings of anybody. As if a switch got turned on, the entire ground erupted in smiles and cheers. Who would have thought that the first to wake up wasn't the powerful female Alpha but the youngest and debatably the weakest member of this family? The healer next to the cub checked the vitals and the readings. It wasn’t an illusion! The cub was really crying! The healer hurriedly took the incubator back to the confines of a room to carry out more readings.Steven, unlike others, remained still, as if he was still under a shock! He not only heard the cub crying, but he was a firsthand witness of how the small cub tried to stretch its twig like limbs! Steven forgot to blink and kept staring at the cub.His trance was only broken when the healer took the cub away. He shifted his focus to Amelia. She was as still as a corpse, without any movement. The beeping sound coming from the monitor kept reassuring Steven that Amelia was still al
Steven ran past Emma and entered another room. The healer lay dead in a pool of blood and the bed was cold and empty. No shadow of Kieth could be found in the room. Emma was right. The rogues really took away Kieth.Steven didn’t even know how to react. He made sure that Amelia and the cub were well protected but forgot about Kieth. But he shouldn’t be blamed. Why would anybody want to take a weak, harmless human away?Steven, though confused, knew what to do next. He quickly dispatched a team to trace the trail of the missing human. And then he went to interrogate the captured rogues.Liam followed behind quietly. He too, wanted to know why anybody would want a human.Meanwhile, Zion and Emma stayed near Amelia and the cub. Zion looked at the cub while Emma looked at the fading red string of fate around Amelia’s finger. That only meant one thing. Kieth was no longer in their proximity. She pursed her lips in annoyance. Something
“What?” Steven felt bewildered. A moment ago, he thought that Emma’s words had no weight, but now, he was not so sure. The powerful existence could be inside Kieth? Steven furrowed his brows and touched his chin in contemplation. If that was true, then it could explain why the rogues attacked him in the human realm. That would also explain why the Scarlett Witch or the rogues would leave Amelia behind and take Kieth away. But this theory still had some loopholes. Why was such a powerful existence trapped inside a human being? What was that powerful existence? A wolf? A wizard or witch? Or something entirely different?“That existence could be the blessed black wolf I saw in my vision. The key to breaking the witch’s curse.” Emma slowly revealed her conjectures.“What?” Steven trembled momentarily, and his eyes widened with shock. What in the name of Moon Goddess was going on? The blessed black wolf they were looking for, was actually a human?
Questions came to him like waves, overwhelming his breath, submerging him fully. He was surrounded by unanswered questions and plenty of urgent matters. Amelia and the cub were his utmost priority. Then came Kieth and the mess of the blessed wolf and powerful existence. And at last, was the Scarlett Witch and a bleak possibility of Alpha Drefan.Thinking of the long forgotten name, Steven’s pupils trembled violently. It was this man and his ruthless, unconventional thirst for power that wreaked havoc in their lives.Along with the Drug Queen, Scarlett Witch, as his mate, both of them walked down the unthinkable and unpardonable path, which ultimately led to their downfall in the hands of the Moon Goddess. But the harm they did, still stayed in the hearts of the victims like an ever open and ever bleeding wound. Steven tried hard to shake off the nightmarish thoughts and shifted his focus to the current reality. The current attack
“I have had enough. I will say it one last time, you are forbidden to leave me. You are mine, Amelia, and nothing can change that!” A roaring voice boomed in the room, making the windows vibrate with the pressure.“Mr. Kieth Williams, then why don’t you break off your engagement? You promise, and I will stay. You don’t, and I leave. I believe my words are clear enough!” In contrast to the raging voice of the man, her calm voice gently filled every corner of the room.“Do you think you are in a position to negotiate with me?” He smirked while speaking. Kieth Williams did not like to be questioned, threatened, or be at the losing end. But this woman managed to push all three buttons at the same time.“I am leaving Kieth. You had your chance, but you ruined it. Don’t blame me.” Amelia dejectedly said. She was sad. Sad at the fact that this man did not put her in his eyes. Sad at the conclusion that she had fallen to such a level where she let him trample on her dignity. But enough was en
A deafening silence enveloped Kieth. It took him a few seconds to regain his composure.“Report properly.” He spoke viciously.“Sorry, Sir. As per instructions, we went to deliver the ‘One Love’ to the house. But when we reached, everyone was asleep. We checked Ma’am’s room, and there was nobody in it.” The subordinate chronologically reported.“What about the surveillance?” Kieth’s voice was dripping with anger.“Sir, the footage is damaged.” The subordinate responded in a small voice.“Inform the police. I need her back. Either you find her, or you die. The choice is yours.” Kieth uttered and threw the office phone on the floor in agitation.Listening to the loud noise, his staff went still. Sweat covered their forehead. They simultaneously prayed that the demon would not call them. Appearing in front of him at such a time was equivalent to digging their own graves! Maybe God heard them because they found the demon leaving in a hurry. Only after his silhouette was out of sight did
A numbing pain crept up his heart as soon as he read the word ‘rejection.’ No, no, no…something inside him was howling loudly, forcing him to go and find her as soon as possible. He wanted to hold her tightly, but where was she? Agitation, irritation, panic, and urgency filled his core. He wanted her in his arms! Now! Reining his emotions, he walked out and gave the phone to his bodyguard.“I need a detailed list of the people she has been in contact with. Even the spam messages. Find the location and identity of the person who sent the last message.” Kieth instructed and left.As he started the car, he received a call.“Sir, ma’am’s tracker was deactivated in her apartment. She left your house, went to her apartment, removed the tracker, and left her phone there.” The man on the other side became silent for some time.“What about the brother?” Kieth asked knowingly.“She called the hospital in the morning and asked them to discharge him. A man came and took him away. We are still tr
Another beep sounded in the quiet room.“Sir, we have checked the details. The orphanage still stands, but the people we interacted with for the background check are nowhere to be found. The new people have vouched that there was never an orphan named either Steven or Amelia.” The man reported calmly.“What else?” Kieth knew that the subordinate had more to report.“The company, ma’am worked at. The company is still there, but her entire team has disappeared. The company does not have the details of any employee named Amelia.” The subordinate waited for an outburst, but nothing happened.“Say. What is it?” Kieth gritted his teeth in anger as he spoke.“Her past was fabricated intricately. There were no loopholes.” The man spoke slowly. He was a hacker, but even he could not find any physical or digital traces. “Find her, no matter what.” Kieth hoarsely said and cut the call.He looked around his room. There were no pictures, no hair, or anything that could prove her existence. It’s l
