Chapter 3 First Encounter

A numbing pain crept up his heart as soon as he read the word ‘rejection.’ No, no, no…something inside him was howling loudly, forcing him to go and find her as soon as possible.

He wanted to hold her tightly, but where was she? Agitation, irritation, panic, and urgency filled his core. He wanted her in his arms! Now! Reining his emotions, he walked out and gave the phone to his bodyguard.

“I need a detailed list of the people she has been in contact with. Even the spam messages. Find the location and identity of the person who sent the last message.” Kieth instructed and left.

As he started the car, he received a call.

“Sir, ma’am’s tracker was deactivated in her apartment. She left your house, went to her apartment, removed the tracker, and left her phone there.” The man on the other side became silent for some time.

“What about the brother?” Kieth asked knowingly.

“She called the hospital in the morning and asked them to discharge him. A man came and took him away. We are still trying to trace them.” He responded succinctly.

“What about the exit points?” Kieth questioned.

“Buses, metros, trains, waterways and airways. We have secured every exit point. If ma’am appears, we will capture her.” The man waited for another question, but all he received was the beeping sound of the cut call.

Kieth’s numbness was increasing second by second. He went straight to his house. The staff waited in the hall for their doom. They knew that Sir won’t let them go.

“Either resign or help my bodyguards train.” Kieth appeared like a King, declared the decision, and left without listening to anybody’s plea.

Anybody with a sane mind would resign. Helping the bodyguards train was like becoming human punchbags to them. Though the salary was generous, their life was more important! Unsurprisingly, they fled like headless chickens as soon as there was an opening.

Kieth on the other hand, walked straight to his bedroom. He took measured steps towards the bed and picked up her pillow. It still had her scent. Taking a deep breath, he could feel his nerves soothing.

He checked the closet. It still had her clothes. The clothes he had bought her. He looked around. Everything was still the same. Just like he had left. But only she was missing.

He went to the side drawer and found the contract. The source of their entanglement. On the contract, her signature was decisive, bold, and flawless. Just like her personality.

He could not help but think of her possessive eyes whenever he spoke to any girl. When he shook hands and hugged girls, her eyes would burn with obsession and possession. He loved teasing her that way.

The way she looked at him with passion made him feel alive. Without her, he was living a dull life. With her, he could feel his heart beating.

He put the contract back into the drawer and threw another box in it. It was the ‘Only Love’ Pendant he had designed for her. A necklace worth millions was discarded like trash and thrown into the drawer, doomed to never see the light again.

He checked her luggage but found nothing suspicious. He was frantically searching through her things. Anything that could lead him to her, but he found nothing. He kept on going through her things but made sure that everything was back to the place she had left it.

While searching, he got another call.

“Sir, we followed the alert, but we have not found any man similar to Ma’am’s brother. His reports indicated that his poison had to be dealt within three hours. But none of the hospitals have received such a patient.” The man on the other side shared his findings.

“Have you checked every center?” Kieth closed his bloodshot eyes as he reached another dead end.

“Yes sir, every registered and unregistered clinic, center, hospital, and alike have been thoroughly checked.” The man responded with servility.

“Keep searching.” Kieth cut the call. What else could he say?

Another beep sounded on his phone within seconds. It was the details of her background check. Of course, he had run a background check on her six months ago, before signing the contract.

Encounter with Kieth Williams: Coincidence. Was at the club for the success party of her boss’s promotion. Went to the wrong room in a drunken stupor.

Kieth focused on the last point. He remembered meeting her for the first time at the club. At that time, both of them were drunk, and whatever happened was a sweet memory. He remembered her body, her passion, and her enthusiasm.

From the moment she kissed him, he found himself hooked. He could not push her away. Instead, he wanted to indulge in her sweetness. That is why, when she came to him for the medical supplies, he made her sign the contract.

He wanted her, and she wanted the supplies. It was a win-win for both of them. He thought he would get tired of her after a few nights, but oh! he was so wrong!

The more he tasted her, the hungrier he became. The more he drank her sweetness, the thirstier he became. For six months, there was not a day he did not dabble in her softness.

For six months, there was not a day they slept apart. Of course, she took the morning after pills, otherwise, with his momentum, she would have been impregnated on the first night!

For six months, everything was calm. Until the Scott family ruined it all!

The warmth in his eyes was replaced with ruthlessness. He vowed to make them pay! The Scott family would have to pay for his loss!
