The persistent vibrating of her phone woke Willow up from her restless sleep. She cracked her neck as she sat up straight, the uncomfortable position reflecting on her back.
She looked at the peaceful, sleeping frail form of her mother, Bethany Mason, and sighed.
She wasn't sleeping. She had to remind herself. She was in a coma. For the past seven years.
Willow looked at the bright screen of her phone.
Knox Wright
The name had changed, and so had their relationship. Again, it was not like they had a real relationship to begin with.
She looked at the time as his name disappeared, and a notification of the missed call popped up.
2:07 am
Why was he calling now?
Maybe he had time now after spending all night with his woman.
Willow caught herself. She did not have the right to feel jealous or heartbroken. She told herself.
She was about to turn off the screen when his face lit up on the screen again.
She sighed, knowing very well that Knox was as stubborn as an ox - she snickered at how the words rhymed. So she just gave in and picked up the call.
"Hel-"
"Where are you?" His voice was frantic. "Why aren't you opening your door?"
"I am at the facility." She said, whispering as if her mother would actually be disturbed if she spoke too loud. "I was missing Mom."
"Why didn't you tell me before you went there?" He asked.
Willow rolled her eyes. She had to stop herself from telling him that he did not own her and that she was allowed to go anywhere she wanted and with anyone she wanted.
But it was two in the morning and she was sleepy. And she was exhausted after exhausting all her tears. So she just wanted to end this conversation as fast as she could and go back to sleep.
"I forgot."
"You forgot?" She could almost imagine the seething face of Knox on the other side of the phone. But what was he getting so worked up about?
"Listen, Knox, I am beat. I can barely keep my eyes open." Not necessarily a lie. "Can we take this up tomorrow when I am fully awake?"
"Oh, we will have a conversation about this for sure!"
Willow rolled her eyes and without saying goodbye, hung up on him.
Knox stared at the phone dumbly as it beeped to signal the end of the call.
"Is she mad at me?" He thought out loud.
His phone pinged.
He quickly checked to see if Willow had texted to say that the call had ended by mistake.
But no, it was a message from Mia.
Mia: Thank you so much for making the night so special for me. You are everything I have ever hoped for.
Knox stared at the screen for two whole minutes.
He would join the earth and the sky to be able to receive such a text from Willow. But they were in this awkward situation where he could not even dream of that.
So he swallowed the bile that rose in his throat and typed back a saccharine-coated response.
Knox: I would do anything for you. You complete me.
He gagged and felt his fingers tremble with anger as he hit send.
He looked up at Willow's apartment door. Tonight, he would have to sleep in his apartment, without her around and he did not like the thought one bit. He hadn't done that in three years.

"You look like a zombie," Trisha commented as she took her place.
"Fuck off, woman!" Susan appeared to Willow's rescue as always.
"How are you feeling today?" She asked her work bestie tentatively.
"Horrible," Willow confessed. Maybe sleeping in such an uncomfortable position after crying a river might not have been the smartest idea.
But she was sad. And sad she was also an idiot.
Susans shook her head. "Sweetheart, fake it till you make it. Your feelings were real so you are in pain but realize that he never felt anything like that. He went chasing another skirt. He is not worth feeling horrible over."
Willow wanted to break down again and tell Susan everything but she knew that was an infraction of the non-disclosure clause of the contract and she could not do that. She had seen how cruel Knox could be last Saturday and she did not want to test him.
"I am so tired." She rubbed her face with her hands. She had no make up on today because she was such a mess and couldn't bring herself to even get ready properly.
Susan squeezed her shoulder and went back to her seat.
Willow's phone buzzed. She unlocked her phone to check.
Knox: Did you come home today?
Willow sighed. Why did he care and why did he want to know?
A stray tear escaped her eyes as she picked up the phone to reply.
Knox: I am in the basement. Come over.
Willow pursed her lips, suppressing her urge to scream at the phone.
Why was he here?
Why was he making things difficult?
She decided that she was not going to go. She had had enough.
Willow: I don't own this company, Knox. I can't just up and leave as I please.
The reply came in an instant.
Knox: You came last time.
Willow: I had my lunch break then. Bye.
Her phone buzzed a few more times but she just ignored it.
Willow let out a defeated sigh when the phone started to vibrate.
Knox Wright
"What do you want from me?" She whisper-yelled into the phone out of frustration.
"You know what." His voice was clipped.
She shook her head even if he could not see her. "No, I don't."
"Quit your job," Knox said as if it was the most normal thing to ask of her.
"Excuse me?"
"I will buy you a company."
Willow barely stopped herself from swearing out loud as she hung up the phone in rage. What in the world was wrong with him?
She tossed the phone aside and pressed her wrists to her eyes. No wonder people thought she was a gold digger.
Knox was ridiculous with the amount of money he spent on her.
He was crazy.
For her. But she didn't know that.

She finally reached her doorstep and started to put in her code - she had changed the one that Knox had put in and locked him out of her place. To say that he had been pissed, would be an understatement. As she pushed open the door, she was suddenly manhandled and the next moment, she found the air knocked out of her lungs and her back against the wall inside the apartment, the door swinging shut beside her. Knox was in front of her, caging her between his arms, his eyes frantic. "What?" Willow managed to rasp out, breathless by the proximity. "What do you want?" "Why are you avoiding me?" Knox asked if it was not the most obvious thing ever. "Knox, I am tired. I don't have the energy for this." She tried to get him to take his arms off the side of her head but instead, he just moved in closer, his chest flush with hers. "That's what you said

Willow had always wanted to go there and see how it was, but she could not go there before because it was below Knox's standards, and as his girlfriend, she had to keep to those standards.Oh well, now she didn't need to worry about anything else. She could go wherever she pleased. And no one could stop her."What do you think of this place?" Susan asked, doing a little dance in the glittering blue dress as she dragged Willow inside.Willow took in the rich music and the electricity in the air, the packed dance floors, and the crowded bars."I think it's beautiful!" Willow finally felt the tension dissipate. "I think I am actually in the mood to have some fun right now!""Better than chicken and beer, right?" Susan winked, yelling over the music as she dragged Willow onto the dance floor."Definitely better than chicken and beer." Willow agreed as the two ladies grooved to the music. The women spent some half

The multiple messages from Susan finally became clear after a while.Susan: I am so sorry!Susan: I should not have left you alone. Susan: I don't know what I was thinking. Susan: And I didn't know that this would happen. They had fake dated for three whole years with multiple opportunities for him to take advantage of her and she would have happily let him do it too. Three whole years where the word 'fake' could have been chucked out the window and they could have flown away to their romantic wonderland. She was so in love with him and ready to be his for the past three years. But he had never made a move. He had kept it wholly professional showing any kind of affection only for the audience except for the times when she managed to fool herself into believing that he did reciprocate some of her feelings. But she was over that now. There was no space to think about that anymore. He was with someone else, officially engaged, and he seemed to be very happy with her too. And Mia Thompson looked so happy and so blissfully in love. She was not the kind of woman to ruin another woman
________________________...After Knox left the apartment, Willow did her morning business and checked her phone again. There was a message from Susan. Susan: Matt asked if Damien could have your number. Willow sighed. She had thought that she had made a friend. She had thought she had gotten a piece of her brother Freddy back. But the paparazzi had to be so cruel to her and ruin it all. Why would a seventeen-year-old want to be associated with a woman they call the 'gold digger'?She squared her shoulders and started to type. WILLOW: No, we are not suing. I am not even mad. Liar. WILLOW: And yeah, you can give him my number. I think I will have to talk to his parents even though his face is blurred. The reply came after she had dried and tied her hair. SUSAN: You okay, girlie?WILLOW: I am fiiiiine. SUSAN: No, you are not. WILLOW: I will fix it all, Suzie. Wait and see. I will get them out of my hair once and for all soon. SUSAN: That's my girl! You are a fighter, Will.
___________________________..."You know..." Trisha spoke up and Willow sighed. The witch had been quiet all morning and Willow had wondered if she had really reformed. Nah, not a chance. The woman was going to bring Willow down every chance she got. "It takes some talent to trap men after men like you do." Willow blew out a breath.'She's not worth it. She's not worth it.' She chanted in her head. She was not going to respond and give the witch the satisfaction. There was no way in hell she would."Excuse me?" Susan appeared and Willow mentally face-palmed. Maybe she should talk Susan into not giving Trisha the satisfaction as well. "What's your problem?""I could ask you the same question," Trisha said, clearly enjoying the outcome of her jab. She turned side to side on her chair and played with her pen. "I was not talking to you. I was talking to Willow Mason.""You were not talking to Will. You were taunting her." Susan pointed out."Does she deserve to be taunted?" Trisha aske

I am not in the mood to tolerate your bullshit." Willow hated how her voice broke at the end of the sentence."Wow, so you can talk." She laughed. "I thought you only let your assistant do the talking for you."Willow hiccupped, violently wiping away her tears. She was a crybaby and she hated it. She ended up crying no matter what - instead of actually being productive and dealing with the problem like an adult."Are you going to open the door or should I get the rest of the office here?" Willow swore as she unlocked the door, hesitating for just a moment. "Well, someone's a mess," Trisha commented as soon as she saw Willow's tear-ridden face. Willow shoved her aside, feeling miserable, and walked over to the sink, opening the tap and splashing water on her face. "You okay?" Trisha must have been the last
__________________________..."This is your idea?" Willow blinked up at the two-story pub tucked away between a barber shop and an unoccupied building. "I think it's a splendid idea." Trisha grinned, all the animosity completely gone from her face. "It's the work slave's equivalent of day drinking. Weekday drinking." "You seem like you do it a lot," Willow commented but there was no judgment in her tone. "Duh. You think everyone's a boring old hag like you?" Willow rolled her eyes. Friend or foe, everyone called her that. Maybe it was the reason why the paparazzi were hell-bent on painting her the gold digger. After all, what could a rich guy see in a girl with no personality except her body? She didn't even have a face worth falling for. She was average at best. "If you are done pitying yourself, can we go in and have some hard liquor?" Trisha seemed to have read her mind and Willow was surprised. "I am sticking to cocktails."She nodded and the two ladies made their way in.
Thank you so much for finishing this book. It's not my best work. And I am not really proud of it. But I think it helped me grow a bit as an author and for that, I am very grateful to this book. Hope I didn't screw up the ending like I did with When My Husband Regretted. If you want to read a fun read with lots of drama, do check out The Billionaire's Wrong Revenge. Thank you so much again!

She was already stressed. "Jay is still breastfeeding, Knox. We can't go!""There is enough breastmilk to last him two days, wifey." He emphasized the word. "And our family will take care of our children.""But-""Whether we are here in the city or on our honeymoon, I don't plan to share you with anyone, darling. Not even with our sons. So take your pick." He cut her off, winking as he threw his arms around her waist.Willow looked over at the private jet waiting for them, and she knew that she didn't really have a choice. Also, she would be lying if she said she was not excited herself. "Alright, I guess I can spare two days for you." She teased, leaning into his embrace.Once on air and the seatbelts came off, Knox didn't waste any time, his hands immediately finding their way to h

He was not going to move from there."Knox, how many times do I have to tell you it's bad luck to see the bride before the ceremony?" Melanie hit her son's head with her purse."It's fine." Knox rolled his eyes. "We have been married in my head for years now." He winked at his bride.Willow gave him a flat look before looking down on their three-month-old son latched to her nipple. "Don't fall asleep on me, Jay. I can't feed you in the middle of the ceremony. And your annoying Dadda want it the traditional way so it's going to be long."Knox leaned down and kissed Jayden's forehead. "Take your sweet time, baby. There's no rush.""He has a boob fetish, doesn't he?" Trisha gagged as she walked in along with Susan and Natalie. "He just loves her boobs.""He loves everything about her." Natalie smiled as she set down the wedding bouquet."Especially her boobs

He asked again as Willow closed the door behind them."Yes, I was planning to." She turned to him, her eyes brimming with unshed tears."Where?" He asked."Home." She said. "I needed to talk to you. He was wrong in his way but his intentions were not vile.Yeah, yeah. Keep defending him. How can you forget that he is as much a sinner of your family as Natalie is?Her inner voice was relentless in its criticism of her.Maybe Willow was too forgiving. Maybe she was just dumb and desperate for Knox. Or maybe she had accepted the fact that as she had tried to convince Natalie so many years ago, she was only a kid when it happened and he was just trying to protect her. And what could punishing Natalie achieve now?

He had said.Willow sighed into her hand as she looked at the time. It was eleven in the morning. She was sleeping in on a Sunday because she had nothing better to do.Her phone buzzed on the nightstand. She picked it up to see a text from the guard downstairs.GUARD: NATALIE WRIGHT IS HERE TO SEE YOU!!!!!Willow's heart stopped.Natalie.The woman who was like her own sister to her.The woman who had murdered her family. What did she want?Willow threw on a robe and rushed to the door, her heart racing. She had not seen Natalie since the day she had found out the truth. She had let the guard know that Natalie could come in.
