72. Tender moments

OLIVER

The place was swarming with the press in a few minutes but luckily, an ambulance arrived and I watched as Theo lifted her up and carried her into the vehicle. Her gaze glided over me, lingering for a while before she disappeared into the vehicle and the doors closed.

"We need to leave," Victor said, rubbing his jaw as he flexed it like it was broken. "Oliver…"

My thoughts were hazy as I watched the ambulance drive off. I should be there with her. Fuck! That should have been me.

"Oliver, we need to leave now. The press are everywhere!"

"Follow that ambulance, Victor, now!" I stormed into the car with him hot on my heels, slamming the door shut and leaning back on the couch with a tired sigh.

My body still shook from all the tension and pent up panic. The fact that she wasn't by my side even after everything was already over did a number on my mind.
