"Miss Yna, your grandfather called."

My attention shifted from my computer screen to my assistant in front of me.

"He asked if you could visit him tonight," Tiffany continued while adjusting her eyeglasses.

I heaved a sigh. Honestly, I didn't want to. But I said otherwise when I responded to her.

"Tell him I'll be there."

Tiffany nodded and left my presence.

I knew why my grandfather, Damien Samaniego, wanted to see me. For sure, it was that same issue again.

He was pressuring me to get married before he turned eighty. And that was in a month counting from today.

I am twenty-seven and never had a boyfriend. How on earth would I find myself a husband in such a short period of time?

Stressed, I called in Tiffany to bring me a whole container of ice cream and a chocolate bar from my fridge in the pantry.

"These aren't going to help, Miss Yna," Tiffany said as she gave me the sweets.

"Did I ask for your opinion?"

My assistant, knowing better than to piss me off, shook her head and left.

At seven o'clock that evening, I found myself at my grandfather's house.

"You've gained more weight than the last time I saw you, Angelina," Damien Samaniego commented when he saw my three-hundred pound frame enter the dining room.

Nonetheless, my grandfather still looked at me adoringly.

"What is this dinner about, grandpa?" I answered and pretended that I did not hear what he said. I walked to him and gave him a kiss on his cheek before I sat on my spot at the dining table.

"I'm afraid you'd die first than I am if you don't change your lifestyle. Look at you, honey. Aren't you scared of all those excess fats?"

Ah, I knew it. If it weren't the endless topic about my getting a husband soon, it was the more endless reminder of me losing weight.

"Grandpa, I'm healthier than you think." I rolled my eyes and extended my hand to get a serving of the steak on the table.

"Later, Angelina," Grandpa swatted my hand away. "I asked you to come because I have good news for you." My old man's eyes twinkled and I felt bad all of a sudden.

I didn't like the glint in his eyes any bit.

"Let's eat first," I tried to avoid the good news that he was talking about.

"No. Listen to me, child. I already found you a husband!" He happily said.

I looked at my grandfather in disbelief before I burst out laughing. He found me a husband? What kind of a gold-digger man agreed to become my husband?

"What are you laughing at? Is your self-esteem that low that you couldn't believe somebody actually agreed to marry you? He's a fine man from a well known and respected family, Angelina. And I know he will take good care of my beloved grandchild."

I rolled my eyes once more. If the man wasn't a gold-digger, then perhaps, he was threatened to marry a woman like me.

I was always told by my grandfather that I was beautiful and I had a good heart. But I knew that he only sees me that way because I was Angelina Samaniego, his favorite grandchild from his deceased eldest daughter, Angela.

But everyone in my small family despised me and was ashamed to be associated with me. They said that they had no pig for a family.

I was the smartest of us though. I was the most successful, that's why at twenty-seven, Grandpa was already comfortable with me running half of our family business.

And for sure, if any man would agree to marry me, it was for the sole intention of expanding his wealth and influence. I was still a catch after all.

"Who is this crazy man who agreed to marry me then, grandpa?" I asked, a sarcastic smile was pasted on my lips as I already developed a hate towards the unknown man. How dare he use me for his personal interest?

"The Dela Vegas will be here on weekend. Be sure to drop by to meet your future husband."

"Dela Vega?!" I repeated, rather surprised. Dela Vega who? I only knew one prominent family with that family name. And there was no way they would need to be married into my family for added power and influence!

Who were the Samaniegos compared to the Dela Vegas? We were nothing!

Grandpa nodded his head as he watched my reaction carefully.

"You don't mean—" an involuntary pink shade surely spread on my cheeks. The Dela Vegas only had one heir! The super duper hot, handsome, mighty, and most sought after bachelor in the country, Nicholas Dela Vega!

"Yes, honey. Nicholas Dela Vega agreed to marry you," he said with a huge smile on his face.

I was surprised. I couldn't believe it! Did he really? But why? How? What would he benefit from marrying a pig like me?

"Angelina, you should begin losing weight for him. You know Nicholas, what his status is. You have to adjust to his lifestyle, do you understand?"

I nodded like a good girl because I didn't find my voice at the confirmation.

Nicholas Dela Vega was my secret love since junior high school. He was the reason I gained that much weight.

Because when we were young and I decided to confess my feelings for him, I accidentally overheard him confessing to another girl. Nicki was my first heartbreak. The first pain that I ate away to forget.

Who would've thought that years later, he would agree to marry me? While I secretly followed his life, did he have any idea who I was? Did he know what his future wife looked like?

The thought of him being without an idea pained my heart. What if he would reject me when we met this weekend?

The possibility panicked me. "Grandpa, I don't want to marry him! Find someone else! Anyone but Mr. Dela Vega!"
