Chapter 231 – Michelle Strikes Again, We're Bankrupt

A few days earlier, Piper received a call at her hideout.

“Miss Henshaw, our men have been caught, and Michelle has been rescued from them by Mr. Gannon’s secret spies.”

“What? Wasn’t Ezrah at the hospital?” Piper was confused and pained.

Firstly, her plans had failed, and Ezrah had taken the stab meant for Michelle.

This was a plan she had been plotting for a long time and only managed to execute when Rush provided her with the money.

Michelle had promised not to take Ezrah back, but knowing her, Ezrah's act of heroism would likely win her heart back.

“He is, but it seems he had already paid the men to watch over her before then, so the contract was still in progress.”

“How is Michelle?” Piper asked through gritted teeth, expecting the worst.

“She’s fine.”

Piper was furious. She had known Ezrah before Michelle and felt entitled to him. How dare Michelle play the victim?

Since she couldn't have Sebastian back, she wanted to eliminate Michelle and eventually make her way back to Ezrah.
