Chapter 105

Sienna’s Pov

“Ryan, you can’t keep putting your life on hold for me,” I said, my voice quiet but firm.

Ryan stared at me, his expression conflicted. “Sienna, I’m not putting my life on hold. I just… I want to be here for you and Daphne. You know that.”

I shook my head, taking a step back. “And I appreciate everything you’ve done. But you have your own responsibilities, your own dreams. You can’t stay here forever.”

For a moment, he said nothing, his hands resting on his hips as he struggled to find the right words. “You’re sure about this?”

“I am,” I replied softly. “I’ll be fine. We’ll be fine.”

After a long pause, Ryan sighed, nodding reluctantly. “Alright. I’ll go. But I’ll be back sooner than you think, Sienna.”

I forced a smile, watching as he gathered his things and left. The door closing behind him felt like the end of a chapter, a bittersweet one, but I knew it was the right decision.

A few days later, the morning sun streamed through the windows as I

I turned slowly, my frustration bubbling under the surface, only to see Sienna walking toward me. She was as composed as ever, her bag slung over her shoulder and her expression unreadable. “I was beginning to think you weren’t coming,” I replied, my tone clipped. “I’m here, aren’t I?” she shot back, pulling out the chair across from mine and sitting down gracefully. I sat down as well, running a hand through my hair as I tried to collect myself. “Why were you late?” Her lips twitched, as though she was suppressing a smirk. “Because, Lucas, unlike you, I’m not in the habit of making my life revolve around other people’s demands. I’ll show up when I’m ready.” I exhaled slowly, deciding not to take the bait. “Let’s get to the point,” I said, leaning forward slightly. “I called you here because I need answe

He stood there, his eyes searching mine as if looking for something, but I refused to meet his gaze. “It’s none of your business,” I said sharply. “Stay away from me. Stay away from Daphne.” His shoulders slumped slightly, and he sighed, but he didn’t respond. That was fine with me. I didn’t need to hear anything else. Turning on my heel, I marched toward my car, feeling his presence like a weight on my back. As I reached for the door handle, I felt his hand on mine again. “Let me go, Lucas,” I said without looking at him. His grip loosened slightly, but his voice was low and heavy. “Why do you keep running, Sienna? Why won’t you just tell me everything?” I pulled my hand free and finally looked at him, my tone cold. “I’m not holding you back, Lucas. I never was. If you think I am, that’s on you. Now, let me live my life and leave me alone.” Without giving him a chance to r

Chapter 108 Sienna’s Pov“Mommy!” Daphne’s voice echoed from the living room as I heard her small footsteps shuffle around. Panic gripped me. I’d left her alone for just a few minutes while I cleaned up in the bathroom. Throwing down the towel, I rushed out to see what had happened. The sight of David sitting at the dining table with Daphne by his side caught my eye. Her small hand was wrapped in a makeshift bandage, and tears glistened in her eyes. “What happened?” I asked, my voice trembling as I hurried over to them. David looked up, his expression calm but concerned. “She tried peeling an orange on her own,” he explained, gesturing to the knife on the counter. “She cut herself before I could stop her.” “Oh, Daphne…” I knelt beside her, gently taking her hand and examining the injury. The cut wasn’t deep, but seeing her hurt like this made my heart race. “I’m okay, Mommy,” Daphne said, her voice wavering. I felt a so much guilt for leaving her unsupervised. “I should

But I kept my fists clenched in my pocket. Starting a fight wouldn’t help Sienna, and it would only make things worse for Daphne. So, I sat back, my jaw tight, and kept my focus on Sienna, who was doing her best to keep the situation calm. “Why don’t I cook something for everyone?” she said, her tone overly cheerful in an attempt to cut through the tension. “The three of you can go to the supermarket and get me what I need.” Lucas frowned. “The three of us?” “Yes,” Sienna replied quickly. “You’ll all need to get along sooner or later, so this is a good start.” David gave her a small nod. “Sure, if that’s what you want.” I shrugged, hiding the smirk forming on my lips. If I couldn’t hit Lucas, I’d enjoy making him uncomfortable. “Alright. Let’s go.” It took longer than it should’ve to decide wh

Chapter 110 Lucas’s PovI didn’t know what to say. Ryan was doing most of the talking, though it was clear he was struggling to string a proper sentence together. His words came out jumbled, stammered, and frankly, they didn’t make much sense. Sienna just stood there in the doorway, arms crossed, staring at the three of us like we were a group of misbehaving children. Her eyes flicked over our bruised faces, and I could tell she was holding back her temper. When I opened my mouth to say something, she raised a hand to stop me. “Enough,” she said sharply. “All of you, stop talking. You’re grown men. Handle your injuries yourselves.” She turned around without waiting for a response, scooped Daphne into her arms, and carried her inside, shutting the door firmly behind her. I let out a long sigh, my shoulders slumping. This wasn’t how I wanted things to go. I’d hoped, naively, that seeing me in such a state would tug at Sienna’s soft, merciful side, the one I knew so well. Bu

What is it now?” I stepped inside without waiting for an invitation, glancing around his neat and modern living room. “I need answers. About Sienna.” David closed the door behind me, crossing his arms as he leaned against it. “Answers? What do you think I know?” I turned to face him, trying to keep my tone casual. “You live next to her. You’ve obviously spent time with her. I figured you might know more about what’s going on in her life.” David chuckled, shaking his head. “You’re barking up the wrong tree, Lucas. I’ve only known Sienna for a few days.” I didn’t believe him. Folding my arms, I leaned against the back of his couch. “A few days? That’s hard to believe, considering how comfortable she seems around you.” “She’s a good neighbor,” David replied with a shrug. “And I’m just being pol

There’s a car waiting for you. Trust me.”* I frowned slightly, my curiosity piqued. Placing the phone on the counter, I grabbed my bag and walked out the door. Just as he said, a sleek black car was parked at the curb. The driver stepped out, greeted me politely, and opened the door. “Where am I going?” I asked hesitantly. “You’ll see,” the driver replied with a professional smile. The car stopped in front of a grand restaurant. The warm lights inside cast a golden glow through the large windows, and the atmosphere buzzed with elegance and luxury. My jaw dropped slightly as I stepped out, unsure why I was here. Ryan stood at the entrance, dressed sharply, his usual confident smile softening as he caught my gaze. “This is for you,” he said, gesturing to the restaurant behind him. “For me?” I rep

Just wanted to make sure everything was okay,” he said. I smiled lightly, though he couldn’t see me. “Thanks for checking, but we’re alright. I’ll talk to you later, okay? Bye, David.” “Alright. Take care,” he replied, and I ended the call. Daphne came running back to me, looking tired but happy. “Mommy, I’m so tired,” she said, wrapping her arms around my legs. I bent down and kissed her on the forehead. “You had fun, didn’t you?” She nodded, yawning dramatically. I turned to Ryan, who was leaning against the car, smiling at us. “Thank you for today,” I said sincerely. “And for the gift. The shock and the joy had collided, creating a whirlwind of emotions that I wasn’t quite prepared for. I had thought we were past the storm, that our lives would now fall into place. But this new chapter felt like a twist I hadn’t expected. Twins. Two new lives that would soon be a part of our world.I had always wanted a family, but I never imagined it would be like this. I couldn’t wait to see how Daphne would react to the news, knowing she’d be a big sister soon. But before I could get too lost in those thoughts, we had to focus on making sure Sienna was well taken care of.The day after we found out about the twins, I took Sienna to the doctor for a scan. Lucas was home, Daphne was safe, and we were rebuilding our lives. The weight that had been pressing on my chest for so long had lifted, and I could breathe again. I woke up that morning to the sound of birds chirping outside, the sunlight streaming through the windows, and the soft hum of the world going about its business. It felt like everything was right. The past few weeks had been a whirlwind, but we had made it through. And now, we were finally starting to move forward. But as I sat down for breakfast with Lucas and Daphne, my phone rang. It was Lucas, and I could hear the tension in his voice the moment I answered. “Sienna, you need to listen to me. Max is doing something with the documents. He’s hiding them, and I don’t know what he’s planning, but we need to act fast,” Lucas said, his voice low an

Chapter 178 Lucas's PovThe courtroom was quiet, but the air was thick with tension. I stood there, watching as the judge handed down the final sentence. Lisa and Max, the two people who had caused so much chaos in my life, were about to pay for everything. I couldn’t help but feel a cold, bitter sense of satisfaction. "Both of you are sentenced to life imprisonment for your crimes," the judge announced, his voice echoing in the silent room. I didn’t flinch. It was what they deserved. They had manipulated, lied, and tried to tear apart everything I had fought so hard to build. Now, justice was being served. Lisa looked at me, tears streaming down her face, but I felt nothing for her. She had begged for forgiveness countless times, but I couldn’t allow myself to be swayed by her apologies. Not anymore. Not after everything she had done. She turned to the judge, pleading, her voice shaky. "Please... I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to do all of this. I just wanted to be loved." I didn’t

I should have told Sienna how I felt. I should have told her that I loved her, that I didn’t want Lisa anymore, that I never wanted to hurt her. But instead, I had let things spiral out of control. I had let my anger, my jealousy, get the better of me. And now, I was left with nothing.Even after everything that had happened, after being beaten and dragged by Lucas, my mind wouldn’t stop racing. I knew that what I had done was wrong, but there was this part of me that still couldn't let go of Sienna. It didn’t matter that I had messed everything up. It didn’t matter that I had let Lisa manipulate me into making terrible decisions. I still wanted her. I still wanted Sienna. I had gone to their house, to Lucas’s house, to confront him. I told him that he hadn’t won, that I would take Sienna from hi

Chapter 176 Sienna's PovI slowly stirred from unconsciousness, my head throbbing as if a thousand voices were screaming inside my skull. The room around me was dim, and I could hear the soft hum of machines and the muffled voices of people talking. My eyes fluttered open, and the sterile smell of the hospital hit me like a wave. I tried to sit up, but the dizziness made my stomach churn, and I had to lie back down. I closed my eyes for a moment, trying to gather my strength. The memories from earlier, Lucas, the fight, everything, came rushing back. My heart raced. What happened? Was everyone okay?I tried to sit up again, this time more carefully, and saw a doctor standing by my side. "You're awake," the doctor said softly, a reassuring smile on his face. "How are you feeling?"I didn’t answer right away. Instead, I pushed myself up a little more, still feeling weak but determined. "I want to go home," I said, my voice hoarse. The doctor frowned slightly. "I’m afraid that’s not

Chapter 175 Lisa's PovI couldn’t contain my smile as I watched everything unfold. The plan was working perfectly, just as I had envisioned. The doctor, the coma syringe, the manipulation, it was all falling into place. I had been playing this game for so long, and now, I was finally going to win. Sienna was still unconscious, and all I needed was for her to stay that way for a little while longer. The more time I bought, the more control I gained over Lucas. If I could just keep her out of the picture long enough, Lucas would be mine. He would see that I was the one who was truly loyal, the one who could give him everything he wanted.I watched as the doctor prepared the syringe, the liquid inside glowing faintly. He was hesitant, but I had made sure to convince him that this was the only way. We had to keep Sienna incapacitated for a while, just long enough for me to take full control of the situation.“You’re sure this will work?” I asked, my voice low but insistent. The docto

Chapter 174 Lucas’s PovI was so damn tired. Tired of the constant pain, the grief, and the frustration that seemed to follow me everywhere I went. It felt like the universe had it out for me, like I had been cursed to live a life of endless suffering. First, Daphne’s death, my daughter, gone in an instant. And now Sienna. She was slipping further away from me, her mind unraveling in a way I couldn’t control. I had tried everything, but nothing seemed to work. I had lost her once already, and now, I was on the verge of losing her again.I couldn’t help but think that maybe I was the problem. Maybe I was bad luck. Maybe it was me who was causing all of this. First, I had failed Daphne, and now, I was failing Sienna. It was all my fault. I had let her down, let us both down. I didn’t deserve her, and maybe she didn’t deserve me either. It was the only logical conclusion I could come to in my exhausted, broken state.I had been considering it for a while now, but now, it seemed like t

Chapter 172 Sienna's Pov The weight of the world crashed down on me as I sat there, staring at the sterile white walls of the hospital room. My mind refused to process the words the doctor had just spoken, but they echoed in my ears, replaying over and over again. I felt like I was suffocating, my chest tightening with every breath I took. Daphne. My precious little girl. Gone. Just like that. The doctor had explained it so calmly, so matter-of-factly, but all I could hear was the deafening silence that followed. My baby, my Daphne, was no longer here. The doctor had told me that she had been suffering from a condition that was only revealed too late, something no one could have foreseen. A brain tumor. And the worst part? It had been growing silently, without any signs, until it was too late to treat. I blinked hard, trying to push back the tears that threatened to drown me. I didn’t want to cry. I couldn’t. Not here. Not in front of the doctor, not in front of Lucas, who
