Chapter 49: Giving In

Alexander laid in bed with his eyes closed. He had been like this since last night without eating a thing. When the door creaked open, he opened his eyes immediately.

"A few men keep coming and asking about your whereabouts." The nurse informed him.

"Just keep denying it." Alexander replied and shut his eyes again.

He was resting, and needed a lot of it. His wounds were gradually healing, but he was still very disturbed. The nurse came closer to him and touched his hand.

"I'll change your bandages now." She whispered and immediately began taking them off.

A few minutes later, she was done, but stood still watching him. Alexander was one hell of a handsome man. His eyes were deep green and his lips so parted. He had full brows and they were nicely carved.

Only a blind lady would not fall in love with him.

"Is there anything else?"

"You'll be discharged today." She announced sadly.

"Alright, thank you." Alex replied while she turned around and walked away holding the tray tight. Mitchel
